Ad like to see fleck and boyd up front. Laffertys miss in the first half was an embarrassment, done well to make the chance then stopped and tries to curl it in from 20 yards? shat it!

Burke, Gow, Beasley and if we're not careful it'll be the same with thomson, davis, mendes and naismith.
Decent enough players but played either out of position or not often enough or in an unfamiliar role.
Walter Smith must just drain all talent and confidence from players by telling them to play in such a negative way.

the frustrating thing is that davis has more ability than any other player but he just doesnt seem to do it often enough, i think its also down to the lack of talent around him, he'll be spottin the perfect pass to play but the players wont make the run, he's wasted in this team i feel, along with mendes. We played 4-5-1 against a team who's record signing cost £350,000.
People were moaning at fans for not stumping up the £110 to go to the 3 games, well i'll tell yi a feel sorry for the people who did go.
2 home games in the champions league, 8 away goals, 2 thumpings.
There is only 1 person to blame for this horrendous european campaign, Walter "the wiley old fox" Smith.
Startin with a 4-5-1 at home to unirea is a joke. Why the fuk was lee mcculloch in the squad?? why not just play smith at LB with Papac at CB?? Oh yeah a forgot mcculloch is smiths bum boy. A player like big lee should never ever ever play for rangers again.
I'm sick of average at best players gettin a regular game for us. Its a disgrace.
Jerome Rothen - A complete joke. I dont give a fuk if he was in a champions league final, i dont give a fuk if he used to have a cracking delivery, he is a fuckin HASBEEN.
In the team merely for his past accomplishments. Has done fuk all since he came apart from cause problems with his constant lack of tracking back.
Smith played him on the right for the full first half, we were gettin ripped down the left all game and then they score. Rothen should have been hooked at half time.
Smith got it totally wrong playing him, let alone playing him at RM.
The penalty - someone tell me why steve davis hit that penalty? seriously? is our team so full of shitebags that no1 else wanted to stand up and take it?
naismith, miller...even lee mcculloch would of been a better choice for hitting that.
So at half time we all thought he'd have to take rothen off...no...off comes pedro (injured) and he puts on another diddy.
Lafferty, a supposed "target man" did anyone see him try to head the ball? arms in the air and 2 feet about 6 inches off the ground. A complete joke once again.
Why did we bring him on? surely novo would of been a better option??
Smith sitting in the stand till after the 3rd went in also done ma fuckin head in, why was he not down there after the second?
screaming at them to show some urgency! some desire! but no he sat there till 3-1 down.

McGregor - 7 Thought he was excellent today, really good handling and made a good few decent saves from a few awkward shots at goal especially in the last 10 mins or so. Looks to be getting back to his best.
Whittaker - 5 His attacking ability is okay at times but defensively he was awful as usual, always caught out and not good enough to be RB.
Weir - 5 thought he was pretty poor 2day, never had bougherra to rely on either so it was always an uphill battle with the pace of samuel.
McCulloch - 4 awful. i cant stand mcculloch, 1 example of wat i hate about him was chasing the ball to prevent a corner, catching it then just humpin it aimlessly straight to st johnstone. No composure, No pace and just a diddy.
Papac - 6 defensively wasnt great, but his goal was a belter, would like to see him going forward more.
Rothen - 4. mince. yet to show anything in the spl. deliveries were aimless and didnt contribute at all. never chases back either.
Thomson - 5 didnt even know he was playing. needs to get his finger out and quick. looks extremely short of confidence as well.
Davis - 5 capable of so much more. movement around him was non existant but should be having more of a say in games like these.
Smith - 4 hardly seen him as well. should have been starting at LB with papac at CB.
Lafferty - 4. Dont get me started, i knew as soon as i heard he was playing what we would get. No first touch, Cant trap a ball for shit and always likely to do somethin truly awful after something good. Never a rangers player.
Boyd - 6. Typical goal from boyd but didnt do much else, midfield let the 2 strikers down as well but needs to start showin the sort of form he did towards the end of last season.
Novo - 5. injected some pace.
Naismith - 5. see above.
Miller - 5. see above.
Team selection - 3. Should of started with Smith LB and papac at CB. No reason for mcculloch to be in the side. Naismith or novo should have started on the right with rothen on the left.
Tactics - 3. usual from smith.
Subs - at least 1 of the subs should have started.

Awful, awful news. He isn't as stupid as he clearly looks and knows that he is nowhere near good enough to make it in another league. He will probably accept and we will be stuck with the fat mess for another 3 years.
Stuck with the top Goalscorer in Scotland every season and we are payin him half as much guys who'll struggle to get 15 goals? Dont think we should be complaining.

:anguish:mate I'm not saying anything about the results last time because we were extremely unlucky not to qualify for the last 8 but finishing 3rd in the SPL is/was unacceptable and led to mccleish losing his job.
I just think we're in danger of concentrating a little too much on the champions league, considering our 2 best performances of the season were 2nd half in stuttgart and 1st half against seville, we have had 3 goalless draws in the league and are on the verge of a large gap opening up if we're not careful.

Remember when we got to the last 16 that season with mccleish in charge? Was just thinkin, we seem pretty keen to achieve that success again this year but we finished 3rd that year in the SPL...
If i'm honest i can see us in real danger of fallin into the same trap this year.

I think once Broadfoot is fit we should have him in at centre back tbh, he was absolutely brilliant for st mirren there and was club captain so id defo have him there beside bougherra, granted if we had another decent center half then we could move bougherra out to full back or even in midfield, but we dont. davie weir is okay for the spl but im sure broadfoot would be a good long term option to replace him. steven whittaker at right back is okay going forward but his defensive skills leave alot to be desired. always lets the man go onto his left or even right and swing the ball in, I remember last season at tannadice when we were 1-0 up at half time, dundee united came out and whittaker backed off his man, didnt shut him down, let him go onto his right and from both crosses dundee united scored. Whittaker isnt good enough for right back at rangers but at the moment with smith reluctant to play kids its our only option.
