  1. Was anyone else here at the battalion meeting at cambuslang rugby club where Walt was a guest speaker? The day he signed with us again, can't ever forget the atmosphere in the room that night. Got a pic with the man and a signature on the dated programme. A terrific moment in my BB history

  2. Got my queens badge last year, and completed leader training this year so i'm a full officer of BB and anchor boys now. We've got a big group at ours just now. Didn't hear this tune but wish i had, rangers and the BB have always had a very close connection

I got my queens this year actually. 195th Glasgow

  4. Bad, but I was anticipating worse. Glad to hear someone mentioning we have 43,00 odd season ticket holders this year. Next year I do expect the figure to be better, along with a sustained level of season ticket holders and hopefully by that time some better merchandising (FS can't stand JJB). Light at the end of the tunnel

  5. Danny Wilson and John Fleck may be taking their first, assured footsteps towards regular first-team football at Rangers but they are not allowed to get too big for their boots.

The teenagers played prominent roles on Saturday and are regarded as the main beneficiaries of the club’s financial downsizing. The Murray Park graduates are not so established that they are able to relinquish their chores around the academy.

“We are still young boys and we still have our duties to do for the first team,” said Fleck. “We still clean the boots and me and Danny are responsible for the manager’s. It keeps us on the ground and going in the right direction.”

Fleck stopped short of describing how to maintain Walter Smith’s standard-issue brown brogues but he did compliment Kris Boyd for the talent inside his renowned shooting boots. Boyd celebrated his return to starting duties with both Rangers’ goals but it was his all-round performance that impressed.

“I think he deserves more credit than he gets,” said Fleck. “People say he doesn’t work hard enough but he scores goals better than anyone – that’s what he does best. I feel the main part of my game is playing through balls to the front men and Kris loves those kind of passes. He always moans when he does not get the ball but I set him up for the first one at least.

“I think playing just behind the striker is my best position but at this stage I will play anywhere. ”

The emergence of Wilson has been a welcome distraction for Fleck, who has often carried the burden as the great new hope in a climate of uncertainty. “I know when
I first came into the team there was a lot of talk and media interest in me but now it is Danny’s turn,” he said. “He has shown that he is a good player but has David Weir beside him and that is a huge help. The main thing for both of us is to work hard to stay in the first team and try to find consistency.”

Nice quotes there from John speaks well. I'd like the Fleck and Boyd partnreship to get more time to blossom.

Fleck comes across as an intelligent young man who is grounded. Hopefully has a bright future here. I'm sure that he will have his chance anyway.

Hoping to see some more of the boyd fleck partnership too myself (Y)

  6. A very good letter, with some very valid points about the safety of that stadium.

But, lets be honest, it just shows UEFA up as the charlatans they really are. They claim to have stringent standards for member clubs. Standards ? They have none. And you know they won't reply to that email.

What they deserve is an official fans' complaint against them, taken to the European Parliament. If they can't organise a competition safely, then they shouldn't even be associated with professional football.

Exactly mate. A bit of unity.

    Brilliant letter OP (tu)

  7. I have to first set the background for this post. I have spent a day reading countless internet articles and arguments about rangers' and celtics behaviours in europe and during the minutes silence respectively.

Needless to say, my head is aching with so many different thoughts and feelings.

Why are we always persecuted? Why do celtic always seem to get away with acts so many people find disgusting?

After this, i start to wonder if its down to me: if i am perhaps of a very biased nature or if they are in fact treated differently by our media.

One of the reasons this day has been so hard is that i feel our team is actually making a positive change. I was impressed with a lot of aspects with our performance against st mirren and witnessed celtics awful display against falkirk. Even just to hear celtic criticised by the commentators felt different and good. Even our performance against unirea - and all in the face of adversity with the media storm around rangers in recent times.

I for one am absolutely sick and tired of being persecuted by media and by celtic fans. I guess this is quite a preachy point but maybe you agree with me: That we should make a conscious effort to improve our supports behaviour and avoid bad press. And before the shitstorm hits me, i'm not simply stating that all our fans in unirea were thugs or that their behaviour was or was not appropriate. I just think that it is time for a change; and that the best and most positive way for rangers to move forward in these difficult times is to follow the positivity on the field and prove to ourselves and our team and staff that we are the people. So lets all make the effort.

I almost didn't post this because after a later reading i realised how lame my rant might same, but maybe some people feel the same and maybe it will instill some comfort to you. And finish with a wee quote thats been on the tip of my tongue in recent times,

"Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers."

Agree with a lot of your comments and was reading wee Durranty the day and feel the way he was talking about wattie was tremendous ,just felt that wattie seems to be taking the lot on his old shoulders but the wee man was right its time for all of us bears to get behind him and the team, they need us we need them,NO SURRENDER,on another note ,watched soccer am on sat when the tramps were on,did you notice just one was wearing a poppy, and when they tried to beat the bears score did you see the arsehole with the Loyds banking group 0 on his shirt ,fuckin warmer.

Nah mate i didn't see it! Unfortunately was in bed with a hangover. I suppose they were always gonna have a pop at us though. Cheapshot

Had a hangover but was ma turn to get up with the wean so had it on,you should have seen them, bath time came to mind, they looked like junkies and thats me being kind especially the shaky legged wee guy,was more annoyed that Helen bird thought they had the best fans around, joke

Lmao im positive she said the same about us the week before

  8. So managed to get a strip with the poppy on it today for a gift for one of my best mates who is currently serving HM Forces in Germany. As he's just been made a sergeant I asked the good staff at JJB (Argyle Street) to print me SGT SAUCE (my mates nickname) and number 1 only to be told we don't print nicknames only surnames or players names. This has been forced into play in the last month. I asked why they couldnt do it ......... "well folk have been getting the QUEENS and 11 etc" ...........

Tried Greaves same answer "we can't do that".

Am I still in the UK here?

I know mate its shocking. A friend of mine tried to get 'King Carlos' at the peak of cuellars spell at rangers and was denied. I understand why they wouldnt do FTP etc but Its not even like SGT SAUCE is offending any one

......... "well folk have been getting the QUEENS and 11 etc" ...........

Its like WELL JUST DONT DO QUEENS 11 THEN YA DAFT C*NT
