  1. Have deleted original reply, before my time. Is it 1963 final ? Maybe a young Ronnie McKinnon ?
  2. Last time I saw that I told folk on here it was Willie Johnston crowd surfing after scoring against cellic.
  3. Didn't find it on youtube. Probably not Parlane as it looks like Doddy's left leg to me, and he's smaller. But could be at another point in the game. Quite a mystery this one, like a jigsaw puzzle slowly coming together. Lots of good input. And I notice there was another photo above being disputed and discussed. Someone should start a separate discussion thread for these photos to help get us through covid.
  4. Yeah, that's a puzzle. @G.A.T.J. reply is interesting "although I think it is a photo from that game. Possibly from the first half , Parlane's header that dipped over the bar". Can't be bothered to look through the whole game but that could be an answer, or even some other part of the 75 game, can you pinpoint it in the video @G.A.T.J. ?
  5. Great find that's the one in the league cup game in 1973. I wasn't at that one as my first was the 1973 cup final. According to a website (cellic wiki unfortunately), this game was played at night time, and MacDonald scored the goal from an inswinging cross. So that one was scored at the Rangers end too. Doddy was my hero, so appreciate that photo. Mad how many coincidences in the two photos regarding the players and their numbers. What do you think now, is this other one correct ? I still think it is.
  6. Hopefully this is all bull and we're not in a bear currency market.
  7. Edvalssson is to the right of both Alex MacDonald Hood in the video. The photo only show s far to right as Alex MacDonald, then cuts off. I'm convinced, too many coincidences. We've discounted any other goals scored by a Rangers player against Cellic in that time period, where McGrain was playing and Hood was number 7. with everyone including, the goalie, the policeman and the ball boy in same position.
  8. Not according to that website I don't want to mention, the team lists show McGrain did not play in that. Craig and Gemmell were full backs. Surprisingly (to me anyway) the attendance in 1975 was only 59,000, about 2/3 full. We had not won anything the year before.
  9. It'll probably remain a mystery then. I'm confident its wee Doddy in 75. Curious now though why we all thought it was the tims end, as both ends are the same wall and terrace effectively and we have to assume a terrace roof would not have been in the picture at such a low angle. I only stood once at the tim end at a Scotland-Czechoslovakia world cup qualifier, game at night so am basing that on limited experience.
  10. The answer was in the same cellic wiki link match report for the league cup semi-final of 1973. "But it was not, for a while, to be easy for Celtic. Rangers found an ally in adversity and three minutes later they were deservedly level. Greig, as always at the heart of every matter, broke up the midfield play and edged towards the penalty area. Once there he played the square pass to MacDonald on the left and the winger hit a vicious curving cross which flew across the face of Ally Hunter before spiralling into the net - the game's best goal." So looks like the photo in the other posts is MacDonald scoring with a header in the 1975 game. Well worth the journey though, as it is one of my favourite Gers moments.
  11. I thought possible, though unlikely, so checked the teams. McDonald, McGrain and Hood all played in both, and they even had the same numbers. On the site there was a reference to: "the bad weather, however, reduced the gate to 54,864 on the night. The game had an evening kick off with Hampden arranging extra generators to power the floodlights to get round the emergency powers." Being December it would be dark, so looks to me that it is the 1975 game still. Unfortunately the site google took me too is the bloody, cellic wiki link, so I won't quote it. I reckon we just need a picture of video of the 73 game goal just to end the mystery so I'll try that.
  12. Are you sure ? That was my first impression too. But we don't see up to where the roof would be, and if you look at the policeman and ball boy, even the barriers they are in both the picture and video, the ball is in the same place, and even the 4 players are in same place, especially the goalie who is diving to his right. Too many co-incidences.
  13. When you consider we don't include the war records, that is a massive, massive achievement, probably equal to 16 probable league championships. Doubt there are many other football players with that kind of record. if any.
  14. Yep, me too. I think it was raining, hence the sparseness of the Rangers end in the photo, the roof did not cover the front of the terrace. All the Cellic end fans would be getting rained on, so we probably sang "The Tims Are Getting Wet". And at the end as they left before the presentation we probably sang "Go Home Ya Huns".
  15. Man City and Crewe the bad guys who have been found out down there. But that web is well spread out to other clubs too. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jan/31/neil-lennon-walked-in-boy-barry-bennell
  16. If you watch the video McGrain does go flying in feet up, but the foot lands on the deck and McGrain is horizontal as the ball goes over the line, which is when the photo was took. In the photo you can see the goalies arms coming across to save, in the same position and time as the video as well, that's my main reason now for believing the photo. I'm pretty convinced. We're starting to make it look like a JFK shooting investigation though, we might never get a 100% answer..
  17. That's the Rangers end. (The policeman and ballboy behind the goal is in the pic and the vid.) If it was Ibrox the camera would have been on left hand side, from the Rangers end. I think you just assumed it was the cellic end, which I did too at first looking at the photo due to no congestion, but I remember the goal vividly. My question was a bit of a tease, because you can't identify MacDonald clearly.
  18. What's your source ? Because here's the goal at 3.57.
  19. Header against Celtic, league cup final 1975, Hampden, exactly what the source said. MacDonald was 6 that day, and Johnstone was 10. Danny McGrain number 2, should be Harry Hood number 7. Goal was a header from MacDonald.
