  1. Can any of you bears say in all honesty that you have not seen that lad give everything week in week out? He may not be the best but from what I have seen he puts the effort on the line and I will respect anyone who does that for our club. I do not care who he has played for as long as he is trying 100% for our club. I wish I had 10% of his talent on the field
  2. Any club in pot 1 or pot 2 is going to give us a serious game and all things being equal we will lose, therefore, why not have the best possible ties and that is what Walter is after. That said the third team is a different story we could and should finish third and that gives us a run in the Europa and we all know where that can end up!
  3. Do not post on here much if at all but drop in to catch up on gossip. If anyone thinks the stadium was full om Saturday they had a few that I was not drinking. There was a lot of empty seats in the Govan where I was and many more else where. It will be interesting to see what the fill rate is against St Johnstone. People are skint and losing their jobs it has to have an impact.
  4. I do not spend time on here but I was motivated to come online when I heard the news tonight. Boyd is not the best player I have seen at Rangers since the 70's when I started supporting, however, whatever anyones opinion of Boyd is and I have always trusted the management view, rather than the supporters as we are not professionals. This time however, I really cannot for the life of me see why we would sell someone of Boyd's proven goal scoring ability for the money that is being talked about? What the f**k? is going on ? There is no way Rangers can replace his strike rate for the money that are taking about selling him for. Surely this must be a come on from the management to bigger English clubs with deeper pockets to buy him at a much bigger price? I really hope the lad does not move as the effect on the rest of the team will be huge! The current Rangers team think, feel, and believe that when Boyd is on that park they will score. Murray and Walter come on this is not right
  5. First Post Rangers are at a crossroads in our long successful history and it has the potential to be a point of progression or indeed a step backwards. SDM has decided he is going and in order to do so he needs to find a buyer. What ever you think of SDM if he had said 20 years ago, boys I am going to invest in the club and we will win the title 14 times in my 20 year reign ( I am assuming we win it this year) how many of us would have said no? I for one would most certainly not. We are at a time when the economy has boomed like never before resulting in thousands if not tens of thousands of mega rich individuals and businesses. A % of them are investing in football like never before. None of them are doing it because they love the club, they see it as a route to making money. There are a small amount like the Russian who has such vast wealth that they are doing if for ego or staus or god knows what. Rangers will be interesting to a range of investors because of, long successful history, brand potential, 50000 paying fans and potentially many more, balanced books and limited debt ( hopefully after a european run) huge potential upside if the structure of european football is changed Rangers will not be interesting to a range of investors because of bad PR, 2nd rate league, not making profit, large investment needed in players and stadium very limited upside if all stays the same in european football. Most of all from a business point of view their is much better value and less risk to be had by buying in the EPL and the championship. Therefore as fans we will have to be very very careful about who SDM eventually pulls out of a hat as the buyer of the club. The pros and cons of buying rangers instead of another club just do not stack up unless you are a very wealthy fan who does not mind losing several million. In his 20 years this will be the biggest decision SDM has made about the club and the one that will dictate the next 20 years! Does anyone on here have accurate figures of how many rangers fans there are? Home games each week 50000 In Scotland 250000- 500000? Worldwide 1 million plus? £1000 by 50000 is £50m = £25m to SDM £25m to trust to invest in the club appoint directors etc Could SDM handle the PR disaster if he refused to sell to the fans? Is there 50000 fans who would stump up £1k each? If there are could the fans run the club? Yes I know more questions than answers
