Which is true, isn't it? Rangers have qualified multiple times for the UEFA Cup Group Stages but have never started off in the competition at this stage.

Why are you so defensive? If you were to ask 100 Rangers fans if they believed that Nicolas Anelka would come to Rangers, what do you think the most frequent reply would be? Where are people getting Anelka's name from? I assume that's only a suggestion, because there's no chance he'd leave Chelsea for Rangers, even on loan.

I entered feeling this was going to be some sort of political outrage. I have to agree to an extent, but I think we need another two wingers, one for each side, as well as a striker.

Ooft. Certainly a topic worthy of discussion! I honestly don't see how it would work other than Jelavic being used as a target-man for Wylde to run onto. Seems to waste the best striker at Rangers though...

It was Trabzonspor who were given the vacant place by the Turkish FA after Fenerbache's involvement in match-fixing which led to them being disqualified from the competition.

It's hugely disappointing, obviously, but Rangers didn't deserve to be in this year's Champions League. Sadly, the Europa League is our standard for this year, but by no means is it a huge step down, other than in terms of financial reward. This Rangers squad will have to run into the ground for every last minute against some of the teams in this competition, should Maribor be beaten tonight.
