  1. I agree that using proper English should be encouraged in society at large, but this is a football forum, and we are hardly likely to end up discussing the role of the Medici family during the Italian renaissance. Also, you are basically calling the guy a retard.

    And your point is?

  2. Leave the guy alone for christ's sake! He comes onto the forum and doesn't use perfect English; thus somehow giving other members "carte blanche" to ridicule him. Only on this forum could that happen.

No, it doesn't only happen on this forum.

Retardspeak is discouraged elsewhere, and should be banned on here.

  3. I respect every individuals right to their beliefs. I don't see many sportsmen insulting the religions of their rivals or fighting about it. I dislike religious intolerance in sport amd the example you give of individual sportsmen has never caused a problem so far as I can see.

So what are you bumping your gums about, saying that religion has no place in football?

Is that you now saying that religion DOES have a place in football?

  4. Ok I'll repeat myself. I don't think religion is relevant in football. I don't see what religion has to do with sport. It leads to division and intolerance when people associate football rivalry and religious rivalry as though they are the same thing. I was initially pointing out to the OP that a glance at most threads on here wouldn't tend to suggest a huge degree of religious tolerance. You may disagree.

Plenty of footballers and other sportsmen around the world disagree with you.

I suppose they might ask what the fuck it has to do with you, if they want to bring their religion into their sport.

  5. I just explained why I don't believe religion and football should be interlinked, I think I was clear in expressing my view. Anyway I don't wish to debate this all night I'll happily accept that you disagree.

You didn't explain anything. You firstly said that religion has no place in football, and when asked why that would be, you starting spouting about FTP and abuse.

Now that you've got the non religious matters off your chest, you might care to explain why religion has no place in the sport. Or you may not.

  6. what school did you go to,because believe u me this is one of the Gers areas, only trying to prove my point about % in this country as a whole........

I know what your were saying. I wasn't disputing your post, I was just pointing out how it was many moons ago. Almost everyone in my school(s) was a Gers supporter.

  7. maybe different where i stay, but for instance you go and do a poll at a catholic school and ask 'what team do you support and 90% will say sellik,go to any other school and ask about Rangers maybe 40%,just in schools mind you,and another fact is Rangers have 1.5 million supporters in Scotland, compared to Sellik that have 1.2 supporters in Scotland in a recent survey now do you're maths in comparison it just does not add up,so dont tell me that football and religion does not mix, because in their eyes that is there get out clause, lets slag the Protestant we hate caholics Rangers, but we are a club for everyone Sellik, and you know what gets my goat is they have a fkn art at it.............

When I went to school, 99% of the guys supported Rangers.

  8. FTP is an abusive term about a religious leader. I have no love of religion of any sort but I don't see the need for expressions like that at football. Same goes for abuse of any religion I just don't see the connection with sport.

So, what's that got to do with your statement that religion has no place in football?

  9. I thought that the days had passed when the be all and end all was to beat the scum.

I yearned for the day when we could get back to the time before it was just another 3 points against that mob.

It's unfortunate the way it has returned to that, but I'm with Rab. I'll be happy just to beat these tarrier bastards tomorrow.

Nothing at stake but sickening the cunts, and that was always good enough for me in times of trouble.

  10. no

perhaps it should be-when a wee pensioner can walk into Ibrox and donate £20 to the club and a 9 year old lad gives up his pocket money(stories related by Jardine)then it isn't much too ask if in such troubled times will the organiser of said doo be making a donation from the proceeds of this bash

-surely not too much to expect but seems posters on his forum must have touched a nerve by being banned and posts deleted for asking/suggesting this

    why????

If it's not advertised as being a fundraiser then there's not much cause for complaint.

If you don't want to line someone's pocket, don't go.

  11. seems a perfectly reasonable question

club needs money-bears have money to spend at a doo then surely a captive audience should be entitled to know if the RFFF will benefit from something being organised by a committee member of same fund?

Is it advertised as being to raise funds for the RFFF?

  12. Coloured seats?

We used to have class and style, and all of the seats in the stadium were made of oak. We ripped the last of those out of Ibrox not so long ago.

    Plastic shite in Ibrox now.

Who gives a fuck what colour they are?
