  1. Wondering what folks suggestions are for transfer targets in the upcoming window?

Heard about this rushian kid from villa, but from what i gather he's no really a priority signing as most of us know we need someone to make the defence rock solid and a winger that can beat a man and put it in the box. Striker probably won't be addressed with us splashing on garner so I suspect any activity will be to aid the supply to the strikers and warbs is banking on garner and waggy pulling their fingers out and finishing chances.

I often see people posting names of players and rough transfer values so just thought I'd see if a thread could get going listing players, where there from and whether they are realistic (all probably sub £1m with the financial situation)

Getting Barton off the wage bill is a big help towards us bringing some talent in.

So what do yous reckon? WATP

Heard theres a decent shopping centre :D

In all honesty its a no from me, we need to be a little more forward thinking than this.

    ???

Fair play, I just read he'd been released and with the current performances of our strikers, he certainly wouldn't do any harm, and of course he's a well liked player.

  3. hope he comes back and proves the doubters wrong. so long as he keeps his head down (unlikely but possible) would love to see him be instrumental like he was for burnley last year. The English championship is a tough league, so he should cut it up here given time. WATP

  4. I've been using a vape for 3 months now. packed in smoking the day I bought it. 3 years on 20 a day and im much better off, and feel far healthier.

I would like to be able to use it in the ground, this bollocks about people wanting to keep their kids and what not away from the vape clouds, how do you keep your kids away from passers by smoking a cigarette? second hand smoke does travel. I think most people that whinge about them are just generally morbid bastards looking for something to complain at.

If the club says no though, thats the rules. I can go a couple of hours without, dont see a problem with it but im no going to argue, rules are rules.

  5. I got my sons strip signed. I've got 17 signatures on it. Sandaza, McCulloch, Templeton, Aird, McCoist, Little, etc. I'm getting that framed too.

I wanted to get Ally's 50th birthday programme signed. I'll probably wait outside Ibrox before the next home game for that.

    Wow!

Sadly the only stuff I've personally had signed, was programmes. got ally's and the legend walter himself, as well as mcculloch, and weir in one programme, got a few others. I literally followed walter for about 10 minutes tugging his blazer begging for a signature. Can't believe I got it. (this was when he was boss 2 seasons ago) What a day.

Still, Hopefully I can get this beauty shirt signed up! Got most of the squad, bar 8, although 3 ive never heard of. (youth players most likely)

  6. Yes, he is fans' liaison officer.

Ah cool! He's on facebook haha! I've sent him a PM asking for his help. maybe I could post the shirt to him, or if hes really generous sort something out for the next home game that I could get some signatures.

    Thanks!

  7. Evening bears,

I have a Gers top thats missing around 5 of the current squads signatures. I'd love to get the remaining 5 and frame it and put it as my prized possession on my wall.

How would I go about getting the rest? I got it from a charity auction.

    Much appreciated.

  8. It's times like these we need Muff on the forum.

He used to know every single player in the world.

who's muff? im dead curious now.

Glad to see we are making realistic progress on the transfer market. lets hope kyle, beattie, kafes and this fella sign. Savage part time, good if we need numbers desperately.

  9. Hey bears, been afk here for a while, but spotted this (not too sure how legit it is because its from Di Stefano, that ex Dundee wanker) but anyhoo.

thats a letter he sent as he investigated whether or not rangers were elegible to play in England or not. This is the Oldco, not the new "sevco" company by the way.

A quick summary of the letter:

basically saying that oldco rangers were instated into the english league in like 1885 or something, played in the fa cup, fa stated "they are the only scotch team to be honoured" therefore because theres no evidence to suggest we were expelled from the english league, we have the right to play there. He then goes on to say if thats the case, they have the right to play in the EPL and its subdivisions, then there will be a much larger generated interest to purchase the soon to be liquidated oldco, including far eastern investors, who are happy to swallow the 100+ million HMRC debt if it comes to it.

interesting read, I must say. wouldn't see it happening though. plus, you can bet your boots that nothing will be done about it until the oldco is liquidated - then the spl, sfa and epl wont have to do anything about it because newco wouldnt have that right to play in english divisions.

Theres other evidence to support this - evidence of fixtures between gers and other teams in that FA cup. We played Lincoln City, Aston Villa (who beat us I think) but more importantly, a small Lancashire club called Church FC.

http://www.rangerspedia.org/index.php/1886/87 thats the link to all of our fixtures that season, including our FA cup games.

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f123/churchs-magnificent-fa-cup-run-5509.html that on the other hand is unbiased proof that we played in the cup. It is an article from 2004 from some accrington forum with proof that we played this team called church fc who had a brief run in the fa cup, and played us at hampden, we won 2-1.

Basically, if there is no evidence to support us being expelled from the english tier, then the oldco has the right to play there so investors will boom in. obviously our assets have been sold to sevco but I could see that going 1 of 2 ways, either new investors buy oldco (probably far easterners as mentioned) who would then buy the assets to newco and move to the english divisions, which would kill scottish football which is why i cannot see it happening sadly, or 2, some investors buy the oldco, clear the debt and sell off the history rights to the newco. (that would be my preferred idea but sadly both of these are unlikely, just a scenario I thought up).

Worth a think at least? What do yous think bears?

  10. Lets be clear. The SFA had and has no right to stop someone buying a club, the fit and proper test is a sham, there is no test. It was is a self made declaration.

Which just points out how meaningless and pointless the SFA really are.

I fully expect the transfer embargo to be overturned, even O'Regan admitted he was surprised at the decision of the panel.

    Farcical.

agreed. I think what my dad is getting at is correct. He is saying that what the SFA are doing enables CW the right to sue the SFA, take them to the EU court, and if he wins, they will lose all credibility, therefore meaning they wont have much choice but to disband.
