What a midfield/attack we have this season.
Windass ahead of Forrester and that would be my midfield-attack.

Doesn't show much emotion when he's speaking, doubted his eagerness after seeing his first interview, but I guess that's just the way he is. Said all the right things! This season is going to be a cracker if we can keep him 100%
It is, watched a few interviews of him on youtube and he's the exact same in every interview.
-
Love him already just like Barton and Niko, we have so many options in midfield this season, its exciting.
-
Would have prefered him to go on loan to a top flight club, St Midden will do, i suppose.

Just found out my mates got one too - lifetime ban with immediate effect, no meeting etc and best of all he's pled not guilty and is awaiting trial in Jan.
Nice of the club eh. Wouldn't put it past the bastards to want his season ticket to re-sell and keep two times the cash
That's out of order, disappointed in the club.

You said the players couldn't be faulted as they are in pre season mode.
I think players can be faulted as that's part of what pre season is about - getting them ship shape.
Some folk just hate any criticism as if it's a challenge against the club or something. But the reality is we've got plenty fitness to sort and sharpness of play to sort and we've got 2 weeks to get there.
If the CF taught us one thing it's that if we're not physically ready and up for the game we're vulnerable.
Fair enough if you disagree, can't actually be arsed arguing tonight.
Not arguing with you, mate. Its the matter of opinions.
Its obvious we wont be up to scratch as we only played one pre-season game, hence why we're treating these games as pre-seasons.

I'm hardly overly critical here but that was pretty rank against, I'll repeat, Lowlands League part-time players in their pre season.
And if you think that second half performance will cut it you're wrong, we'll get punished by top 6 teams.
But we've got a way to go and 2 weeks to get there which I'm sure we will.
Did I say the second half would cut it? It's basically pre-season for us, the score line doesn't really matter unless we got beat. We have the game on Monday then Burnley on Saturday, then we'll be prepared and pump Hamilton.
I think we're a CB and striker away from being twice as good as last season, so there's no worries at all.

Positives:
More fitness, good possession first half, no injuries afaik and some goals from unusual directness of play.
Debutant got a goal and MOH and Barrie showed up well.
Negatives:
Against a part time Lowlands League part time team at same stage of preseason as us our second half was pretty rank. Individually and collectively we lost our way.
We've got 2 games before the league starts and actually have quite a bit to do yet.
The mindset is on pre-season mode, so you cant fault the players. There isn't a lot to do imo, we'll be playing teams like Motherwell this season who we breezed past.
People seem to overrate the top flight, the standard is shite.

I want to sing the sash with Josh Windass!

I hope that's not the last of Jordon Thompson we see for this season. The young lad could do a real job for us at CDM and is a specialist at that positon. I don't see why the manager keeps playing Haliday in there since he's a poor CDM and not the answer. Give the young boy some game time and let's see where he's at.
He doesn't stand a chance, he has Barton, Rossiter and Halliday all ahead of him. I don't think this is the season to be experimenting with younger players like that.
ETA: Crooks as well.

In the 6 yard box to finish where a striker should be....
A strikers finish right there.

Yassss dodoooooo, I don't mind the second half now!

This whole league cup format suits the teams who park the bus, its absolute shite.

That picture is doing my eyes in.

Anyone else noticed that every single one of our players seem physically so much stronger than the ES players?
It was like that last season, I remember seeing the game against Dundee and our players looked like athletes and they looked like pub players.

I really couldn't imagine watching us play another style of football anymore, it's just a joy to watch.

I wouldn't be taking many risks in terms of those who have a history of injuries. Krancjar, Waghorn and Hill I'd hope would be left out
This should be a routine turn up, play to our strengths and win.
Gilks
Tav Kiernan Wilson Hodson
Halliday Barton Forrester
MoH Miller Dodoo
This team but Holt will play instead of Halliday.

Sounds good to me. Looking forward to seeing some of the union bears displays this season, they do a great job.
-
Kranjcar, he ran the midfield with absolute ease.
-
It was basically a training session, I'm so happy we don't have to play the likes of Annan every week again. Kranjcar is just outstanding, I cant wait till he's fully matchfit.

I honestly don't understand why he is not playing. I think this lad is a class act, and so comfortable on the ball.
There was no chance of him getting into our midfield this season, the likes of Haliday and Holt will struggle for a game nevermind Walsh.
