Playing him through the middle isn't working - might help if we had someone who didn't take five touches to get the ball out of his feet before looking for a pass inside the penalty area.

I'd like to see Halliday 'rested' too, and he seems to be the best of the rest available.

It would be nice to see that something as basic as an Alloa or Livingston parking the bus isn't enough to make us so inept at attacking. Hopefully, one of those apocryphal lessons being learned is that we need to have something other than pass completion while going nowhere.

They're undoubtedly at fault, but it's more noticeable when Halliday's not at it. And coupled with a chronic inability to make chances, it will eventually cause problems. Thankfully it's happening now rather than before.

To be fair, there were a few of those players who'll have no chance of being there next season. And if the past few performances have done anything, MW surely (hopefully) knows more about what he needs (6ft+ brick shithouse defensive midfielder so that Halliday never has to play there ever again please!)

Honestly, I think there's too much scope for them to make a complete fuck-up of the rest of their season that they're more likely to have terror rather than confidence right now.

More than a few of them would be playing for a place in the team for the final, not sure it's too valid.
