  1. Unfortunately, we'll be playing against the Europa League version of the Frankfurt team and not the disinterested Bundesliga version.
  2. You don't get to the final of the Europa League unbeaten without being a good team. They have also had good results this season against Bayern, Dortmund and RBL. We're definitely underdogs for the final. But if we get our tactics right, and the players put in a performance than we've got a good chance.
  3. Jesper Lindstrom, young Danish attacking midfielder, looks a threat.

  5. Their record at home in the Bundesliga is poor this season. Which is surprising since they have big stadium with a good atmosphere. They've had some good results against some of the better teams in Germany and in Europe which shows they do have quality. They seem to get better results against teams that attack them and leave space for the counter attack, where they can use pace from midfield and out wide. Their coach did say in an interview that they've struggled against the low block. Our best option might be to sit deep, forcing them to try and break us down, then hitting them on the counter. Especially if we don't a CF. If we do set up defensively, it's gonna be a nail biting 90 minutes.
  6. Is it over two weeks for concussion? Doubt it.
  7. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/player/rafael-borre Frankfurt's Columbia centre forward, Rafael Borre. Appears to have a nice touch, holds the ball up well and links up with their runners from midfield and out wide. Doesn't seem to be a prolific scorer, but did score a screamer against Barcelona.
  8. With the exception of the Dortmund game, i don't think we've passed the ball well, retained possession or created many chances away from home. We have been well organised, strong and competitive but not at our attacking best. Frankfurt seem to get better results away from home, both in Europe and the Bundesliga. I think tactics will be key to winning in Seville, fortunately Gio seems to be getting them right more often than not.
  9. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/who-is-daichi-kamada-eintracht-frankfurt-japan-arsenal-slayer-shinji-kagawa-8456 Looks a decent player. Scores goals including a couple against Arsenal a few years back.
  10. Has the referee been announced yet? Hope it's not some fussy European ref who dishes out cards for the slightest infringement.
  11. From the little I've seen of Frankfurt so far, I'm thinking we may be best starting fairly defensively and hitting them on the break. They seem to be at there best on the counter attack.
  12. He's definitely got talent, would take him for another year but think it's better we develop players we actually own.
  13. 1-1 today. Rested quite a few regulars at the start but brought them on as subs. Their keepers wrist was heavily strapped and he needed brief treatment for it. Wouldn't it be ashame if he got injured! As expected 3 at the back and definitely more dangerous down their left hand side.
  14. It was played so often people were getting bored with it. We still play it occasionally which is how it should be.
  15. I think it's an opportunity to reduce the game time for some players, maybe give someone like Kent 45 minutes today and then maybe 20 minutes on as a sub next time. We've got plenty of squad players who could benefit from more game time and might impress enough to push for a starting place in Seville.
  16. It's from last year, I think they sold a few of their better players.
  17. They seem to score many of their goals on counter attacks and have more wins away from home than in their own ground this season. I think tactics could be very important for this game. It'll be interesting to see if we put out an attack minded team (that leaves us open to the counter). Or try a more defensive approach?
  18. Evan N'Dicka at left centre back is supposedly a transfer target for various English clubs including Man United. He'll be dangerous at set plays so presumably it'll be Goldson marking him.
  19. Filip Kostic looks a threat down the wing. Seems able to pick out teammates with crosses and set pieces.
  20. I know very little about Frankfurt other than watching highlights of their last couple of Europa league games and doing a quick Google search. Starting this topic for those with knowledge of their teams/players strengths and weaknesses and how we should set up against them.
  21. I'd except 38,499,999.99.
  22. I hope he signs but if he wants to go then it'll give Balagon and Souttar an opportunity and make the right centre half spot their own. I wouldn't be breaking our wage structure to keep him.
  23. Sunday will be a good time to rest a few and give some of the squad players a game. Should have more than enough quality to beat Utd.
