  1. I think the 37p is the only number that would give him £55.56 referring to future title wins.
  2. Big thanks to RM and members who sponsored us, we are currently at £4000 with pledges still coming in. As for the event itself, 4 got Gold and 2 Silver. Long story but my daughter came 1st by some 17 mins on the others. She ran/jogged the last 2000m to beat her PB by 50 mins. Quite an emotional day but very rewarding. Thanks again guys.
  3. Wow, just got back late last night and this is the 1st thing I see, unbelievable. I'm speechless. Thank you.
  4. I'd like to thank all those that sponsored me and the kind words of encouragement. Thank you from myself and the team much appreciated. I'm currently starting the journey north (800 mile round trip) via Manchester picking the team up along the way. If I don't get back to you it's not deliberate just that I'm travelling and Perthshire is still in the dark ages. I'll send some pics if I can of the event, for those that maybe interested next year. GSTQ
  5. I'll send the link to RM when I sign up, normally about Xmas time 🙂
  6. Thank you, I'll tell her. It's really appreciated 🙂
  7. Well if you need any tips or struggling for a team give us a shout.
  8. Thank you, we as a group are doing pretty well (top 20) raising money thanks to guys like yourself. We raised £3000 last year for the ABF, looks like we'll smash it.
  9. Sometimes it isn't all about the money, better getting people involved and spreading the word has a much bigger effect. Thank you for your support. 😎
  10. Something to train for? I'm 53 and can still compete with the youngsters, more mental than physical imo. They do a haggis supper near the 30 mile mark 😉
  11. Always looking for Volunteers and participants 🤔😁
  12. By far the best event I've been involved in, the camaraderie and people generally going out their way to make you succeed is phenomenal.
  13. I could write a book about her, bundle of fun. Thank you.
  14. Canny isn't it, I knew the number would get a rise 😂
  15. I’m happy with 54!!! Whilst you lucky people were watching The Old Firm game the other week I was trudging over the Yorkshire 3 Peaks getting my last bit of training in, listening to it on the radio. My, them 2 hours were pain free and joyful. It would be another 10hrs till I got home to watch the recorded version in full. Myself and 5 ex comrades will be competing in the Cateran Yomp, (rural Perthshire), 54 miles in under 24 hours for The ABF (Army Benevolent fund) the Soldiers Charity 8/9th June. It’s also their 75th Anniversary this year. The ABF supports/works with the Erskine Veterans and I believe donated £150.000 this year. This is my 4th and though I suffer for weeks afterwards, you should see some of the others who would make you stomach turn, toenails falling off and blisters the size of your fist. I never tire of this event but realise I’ve only got a couple more in me. 2016: We finished in the top 100 out of 1200, how I don’t know, I’m guessing as we didn’t know the route or where we stood in the field. 2017: It rained for 22hrs and 32mins and I were solo is all I remember. My daughter popping by for support, 36 mile checkpoint starving, “what they got for food“…”it’s alright dad, we’ve eaten”. 2018: My proudest moment, passing over the finish line with my daughter. A girly girl who went through all the emotions and more but never gave up. Giving me the funniest moment unintentionally at the 50 mile point whilst we sat down next to a veteran amputee (leg) who’s pain killers weren’t working anymore. I nodded to her in his direction as to why we were here, hoping to get that last bit of energy she had left as she was on empty. (Her) “My blisters are worse dad” (me) “he’s only got one leg” (her) “that’s beside the point”. She’s doing it again this year. 2019: To be continued: http://fundraising.soldierscharity.org/stevegillespie Thanks to anyone who sponsored me and all the other charities you greatly donate. Please remove if unsuitable admin.
