  1. Whatever happens CG has took the bull by the horn and rather than except an unjust league reconstruction is forcing the SFA/SPL/SFL to think again or come up with an alternative, he's protecting his assets foremost and looking at alternatives just in case, he's a business man first. Also by doing so he makes the TV companies/sponsors nervous as what might be in the future, the SFA/SPL will buckle.

  2. As current rules stand you need to have an HQ and football ground in England or Wales, rule 2.2 of

    the football conference.

So I dare say that would pose a small problem for us?.

Just nicked this from somewhere. Nothing personal :)

Rules are more flexible and carry low end consequences. You can set up rules for games, rules for the home, even rules for fighting or being intimate with a partner. Rules are personal in nature, and they are often adjusted as the conditions and circumstances of the home change.

  3. Redish & Blue could mean Villa.

    Woudn't mind a return to Villa park......................................It's been a while. :2gunsfiring_v1:

And Green added: "How can Manchester United's revenues be £320m and Aston Villa, who are completely useless, get £250m?

I wouldn't hold out on it....... :sherlock:

  4. I think the leagues are a lot tougher down here...........wtf.

An amateur footballer was gunned down by a gangland hitman in front of 150 spectators as he was warming up for a match with teammates.

Alan Jopson, 27, was doing stretch exercises just before kick-off at a playing field in Liverpool when the masked gunman calmly jogged on to the pitch and shot him in the legs.

The victim was hit three times in both legs and lay reeling in agony as the would-be assassin fled in a silver getaway car.

A spokesman for Alder FC also said the incident was 'not football-related'.

  5. But the pricipality of Wales isn't the kingdom of England. I know the point that is often made is that these teams are historically part of English football so it's ok for them to play in the English league but the fact remains they are not English ... indeed anyone born there would not be eligible to play for England

Damn i knew i should have payed more attention at school..........

  6. If teams from Wales (part of the UK) can play in England then Scottish teams should have the same opportunity. Teams in Europe are not part of Britain although bits of France could be reclaimed if we decided to go to war. I doubt there are any European laws being broken but pretty sure that we have the same status in the UK as Wales (for the time being) so there would be an inequality issue.

Don't quote me but i'm under the illusion that Wales, technically speaking is still belonged to England. They are a principality hence the Prince of Wales and so forth . Their is no welsh colours in the Union flag to say they are different. Just my thought on it. I'm sure the Welsh will tell me differently. :box:

  7. A bit of fun.

    THE GLASGOW SERENGETI.

The land of the Serengeti was an Oasis of lush grass, rich in prey and easy pickings. A steady stream of rain throughout the winter months supported this eco system, so much so that two of the biggest prides of lions would flourish in this goldfish bowl, shaping the boundaries over the years as both prides fought for supremacy and ultimately the title “king of the jungle”.

It’s now known the western pride were the first ones to settle here in large numbers in the bountiful and plentiful land of the western Serengeti, a large river meandered close-by, opposite the prides hunting ground, a perfect place to rear its young and catch any easy prey that would dare leave the safety of the long grass or bolt holes that they would normally seek shelter or refuge.

The western pride had lived here in relative peace for years and knowing the land was rich in resources had allowed another pride (who had crossed the swamp in the dry season) to use its eastern pastures. Though still plentiful as the west, the land had lacked a steady stream of water which caused the Eastern pride to be decimated over the years through famine, drought and inbreeding. However, through all this the pride was to flourish and match the western pride for numbers in the good years but lacked any discipline or leadership due to the infighting and parental rights of the pride leader.

A large pack of Hyenas, numbering about 40, had settled on the edges of the Serengeti sneaking into the prides territory when and where they had seen the lion’s bellies full on a previous kill or basking in the sun and too lazy to bother with such trivial scuffles. The Hyenas Alpha male was very shrewd in that he knew when and when not to enter the lions territory and thus kept him and his pack at harm’s way. Far better to feed off the scraps left scattered on the plains of the Serengeti than to take the King of the jungle head on and risk almost certain death.

As a whole the Glasgow Serengeti flourished with all parties contributing to the eco system so much so that it wasn’t unusual to see a large hunting party of the Western pride venture north/east/south for easy pickings or show of force striking fear into neighbouring communities.

Little did they know this was all to change when two rogue male lions from the south, whom had done little in their own lands, sought refuge and sanctuary north of the border would try and establish themselves. Their plan was to bully and infiltrate the prides and seek a pride who’d allow them easy access to the hunting grounds in favour of them giving him complete control without fear of reprisal. They wouldn’t have to wait long.

The Eastern pride having been outnumbered and over shadowed for years by the Western pride were not shy in seeking favour and allowed the rogue lions onto their land, safe in the idea that they would be a match for any single male. They were now three males working as one.

The western pride had had a hard summer and while they strived to make the most of the winter months, had kept their pride of fifty four together (though some old Maasai warriors had them nearer to sixty) were ready for the fight which seemed evident. The constant whooping and shrieks of laughter through the cold nights added to the hysteria as the Hyenas saw some easy pickings.

He was a magnificent species, his full mane of hair covering his head to the centre of his back pausing to stop at what was just pure muscle and bone sculptured out of granite. The locals called him CG and he easily matched his contemporary’s pound for pound. He would need all of this and more.

CG looked around his pride and offered them nuzzles of comfort, lingering on the older members of the pride for moral support; he knew he would have to use all of his experience as well as his strength for this fight. With a momentary glance back towards his pride he disappeared into the night, his coat of muscle shining in the moonlight as he walked into the bush to face his enemy head on.

Having walked a few miles to the nearest high ground he paused and stopped, he looked up into the night air and took in deep breaths, rumbling as he did so, each breath louder than the last until he reached a crescendo, a roar so loud, gone were the sounds of crickets, the hyenas, the frogs who fill the air at night normally. A deathly silence filled the night sky.

The King of the Jungle had spoken.

Note: No animals were hurt in the making of this documentary.

  8. Did Scudamore not want EPL games played in Asia. Anyhow it won't happen ,what English chairman is going to vote for us in the chance of us costing his club a place in the premier further down the line.Turkeys voting for Xmas springs to mind

Well he allowed Man Utd to drop out of the FA cup and play in Asia instead. Double standards.

  9. I've got to agree with you here. It will be a European set up we are involved in. England won't happen at all.

They have already spoke of trying to do deals with the airline companies to try and make it is affordable as possible for visiting fans

Much easier to control 3000 fans with passports than 20000 with carry-outs.

  10. Far better to leave the English leagues as it's a non-starter, they won't give up the golden goose for us. Much more realistic to watch what happens overseas with the Beneliga and Russian development as we have more chance of being invited than gate crashing their party. New league, new rules, new setup would make joining easier from Uefa point of view and the other clubs playing from the same song sheet.
