Ach fuck it, it must be impossible being a footballer and not being able to bet, let him off with it and get on with it making sure it doesn't happen again. Difference with Sandaza was it was a great excuse to get rid(thanks tommy) Black is actually a good player and you are seeing that this season with better players around him, a midfield of Black Peralta Macleod and Law with Temps playing off a striker, why would you want to disrupt that?
Because that would be 4 central midfield players in midfield?
-
Who do you think could play DM better than Black?
Macleod or peralta
-
Supposedly all footballers registered in Scotland are banned from any bets on any football games in the world ( if I heard it right on John Mackay Tonight )
100% agree betting on your own team to lose is shocking under any circumstances
but where do they draw the line on this. Ie just full time pros, part time aswell. I know loads of footballers that bet all the time on games.like someone said Darren Coles got photos on his twitter of winning bets from champions league final and epl games.
-
If he's ever bet against rangers while playing for us he should never play for the club again.
On a different point he has breached a rule by betting on 147 other matches. Are footballers not allowed to bet on any matches, even ones they are not involved in? Just I have regularly seen rangers players post on twitter winning coupons and stuff.
-
Big difference between betting on your team to win and betting on your team to get beat.
If he's ever bet on rangers to get beat while he was playing for us he should never play for the club again.
-
Cribari is never a CB IMO, he's the worst CB I've seen at Ibrox in my time - Id offload him ASAP
Nonsense!! You can't have seen many games at ibrox. He's been decent this season. Better cb than perry and hegarty for a start. Already got far too many cb's tho need atleast a few to leave. we've got Moshni, faure, cribari, gasparotto, mcculloch, mcausland, perry and hegarty. Cole as well who's apparently a cb.

realistically, what should be expecting in the future for the club, where do we see ourselves being in coming years - for me, our goals must be something along these lines:
Short Term - progression up the leagues back into SFPL. Cup success - we have the squad capable
Medium Term - Winning SFPL, ideally in first season but no longer than 2 years in the league. A domestic treble to mark our return to the top
Long term - returning the European Area. At a minimum last 16 of Champions league but possbile further, we should be setting ourselves a target of Champions League semi-finals within 5years of now. Possible move to English leagues
We must live in our means but we've got start putting together a long-term strategy that gets this club back to the level it belongs
Champions league semis in 5 years?
The goals need to be realistic

Can't really say who is our best ever goalie tbh but from what I have seen defo goram, woods and klos. After seeing goram in the legends game even though he is totally out of shape he could prob still do a job for us in goals. Shot stopping is still different class.

Mcgregor must be one of the most over rated rangers players ever! I think the fact that he is now entering his prime and hull city have signed him for 1.5m shows how good he is. Would struggle to make my top 10 rangers keepers.

I'll always be grateful to DM for the amount of money he invested, however, I stand by my feelings that he should have been more careful who he sold our Club to. If I remember rightly he said he wouldn't just sell the club to anyone but when push came to shove he did just that. If the stories about Lloyds are true and they made DM sell the club to Whyte then I'll stand corrected
Fair enough point
-
I can't help blaming DM for everything over the past 16 months. Craig Whyte was a conman and if he had bothered to do any checks he would have found out his true colours before he sold our beloved club to this corrupt bastard. DM just wanted shot of Rangers and TBH I think he probably sleeps soundly at night while I, and all other Bears, live in dread on a day to day basis. He won't help out and he's definitely not welcome
Whyte was a venture capitalist he bought companies to try and turn them around. The beauty being you may only save a small percentage but the profits are potentially substantial. That's why Whyte has links to do many failed businesses. Pretty common for a venture capitalist. I'm still baffled and confused why Whyte did what he did and how he thought he would get away with it. Not to mention the actions of Hmrc and the duff and phelps. All *****.

I'm more sympathetic than most towards Murray. Whatever anyone says he invested millions of pounds of his own money into rangers with the aim of making the club as successful as possible. And to a certain degree he achieved this. Gave us 9 in a row, the likes of laudrup and gazza, memories we'd probably never swap. He didn't buy the club to make a profit like the current owners. And when his business's went belly up he didn't have the personal funds to invest in the club anymore so was forced into selling. And he could never have foreseen Whyte doing to the club like he did. Whyte fooled everyone. Murray certainly isn't blameless in it all but I don't hate Murray like some rangers fans do.
-
Goram, Woods and Klos.
Same for me. The likes of macgregor isn't in the same league as any of them IMO.
-
I agree with you that it is. I know we live in a World where no body really gives a fcuk about anyone anymore. But maybe a banner that reads "You owe us SDM dig deep" might just make him think about it.
This can't be a serious post? LOL
Plus the recession hit murrays other companies hard so don't think he has the money anymore to invest in the club.
-
Seriously I see nothing between scott gallacher and cammy bell. Im at a loss to justify his signing.
You can't be serious? Being truthful I can't see Gallagher ever making it for rangers, is ok as backup in lower leagues. Bell is one of the best keepers in Scotland
-
Stop saying this, you know its bullshit. If you think we can get £4m for a player while playing in the third tier of Scottish football then you need a swift kick in the bollocks and a smack to the head
So if Barcelona went into liquidation and started from the bottom or near the bottom they couldn't expect to get a decent fee for their top players? Nonsense. its the players theyre buying not the league theyre in. Clubs are paying millions for kids who have never even played a first team game. Wallace is an international who has played regularly in the spl and will be back in the top league in a couple of years with rangers hopefully.
-
Interest from who? I've never read or heard of any.
Hold his own at any top 6 English club? Really? Him and Nicky Law you have mentioned as £4m players that will be heading to the EPL within a year.
You're at it.
I agree I think Wallace is an excellent full back has all the attributes needed to be a top class player. Would be confident in him holding his own in just about any premiership side. cant think of many left backs id rather have. Would be really annoyed if we sold him and if we did I'd want considerably more than 4 million.
-
Would be very surprised if any of our big players went. Would surely take a silly bid to sell lee Wallace he's the complete full back IMO. Surely must offload somebody the fringe players though, our squads far too big. I reckon we've got about 7 or 8 centre backs now and ally still wants another one!
-
I really don't think we're far behind Celtic just now. There's not many players from their team I'd take which would strengthen the rangers team. Hooper will be a big loss to them. After watching the Edinburgh derby today would say we're miles ahead in quality than that. All on the day though.

Paddy...
Lol

Would score for fun up here

I'd go;
Gallagher - 6.....didn't have alot to do and can't really fault him at the goal.
Hegarty - 6.....good to get the early goal and to be fair he put in one or two decent crosses but I just feel he is a mistake waiting to happen.
Faure - 7.....another good solid display, some strong tackles and he really looks to have slimmed down. Still young for a CB so worth giving more time.
Cribari - 6....was cruising the game and his distribution was pretty good early on, shame about the injury.
Wallace - 8.....absolute machine up and down that left, great energy and had two or three really good chances, top player.
Black - 8.....best he has played in a rangers jersey.
Law - 8......just looks a level above the rest of the players. Will be a big player this season and beyond.
Macleod - 7.....involved alot early on but faded a bit. Don't think he is as effective pushed out of the middle.
Little - 6/5.....pretty poor to be honest but he is not a RM so I do have some sympathy for him.
Crawford - 6/5.....got into some good area in the first half playing off daly but when moved right in the second half he become anonymous.
Daly - 7....missed some good chances but his overall play was very good, has a real influence and his movement and work rate was excellent throughout...
Subs
Macusland - 6....wasn't really involved much after coming on.
Sheils - 7....looked quite sharp for first game back and came up with an excellent finish.
All pretty much spot on imo
-
Gallagher 5.5 - didn't look overly confident
Hegarty 5.5 - apart from the goal not a great game
Cribari 6 - looked solid before went off injured
Faure 6.5 - looked solid first half, not quite as solid second half next to hegarty
Wallace 8 - great performance again, best full back in the country
Macleod 6.5 - some nice touches fell out the game playing wide second half
Crawford 5.5 - didn't have a huge influence in the game, worked hard though
Black 8 - best game for the club
Law 8.5 - another great performance, all round midfielder
Little 5.5 - struggled in the game, worked hard though
Daly 6 - awful finishing yesterday, linked up quite well
Blacks possible sanctions?

Don't like that formation personally. As when Macleod goes out left he seems to go missing a bit in games. Also leave our 'full backs' pretty exposed. Would have macleod and law central midfield in a 4-4-2 or parelta dm if playing 3 in central midfield.
I think black will get a fine and a ban of numerous games. Club will prob just give him a ticking off unless he bet against us.
