  1. Should it not be possible to adopt an initiative like Liverpool have just done, by employing Robbie Fowler, Rob Jones and Steve Mcmanaman to bring on their youth development. There must be plenty ex Rangers players who would be ideal for this kind of role.

Brian Laudrup, Michael Mols, Artur Numan. Surely these type of players would be ideal, brilliant footballers, well spoken and obviously still love the club..

  2. The various reports are trying to put a positive spin on the accounts as expected, but it is quite a worrying set of accounts in my opinion with the most important figure being a £14m trading loss, quite a significant figure to try and overturn.

Also a detailed breakdown of the 'other costs' of over £13m are required. This is said to relate to matchday costs etc, but when the ticket revenue is only making £14m surely something isn't right here? Definitely more detail is needed.

  3. Because of the team that's picked. With Stevie smith and andy little on the wing and daly up front your never really going to play great football. Give templeton and Mackay regular games on either wing with little or mcculloch and Clark through the middle. Macleod and or black back in the middle with law will also help.

  4. Jerome Rotten

I remember watching rothen for Monaco when they got to the champs league final and he was absolutely unbelievable!

Same with capucho for Porto, I'm sure they played Celtic once and he tore them apart.

Both were pretty brutal for rangers.

  5. I would like to see this team next game, we should be playing attractive attacking football and exploiting the channels and passing teams off the park. I think a 433 is the best way allowing mckay and Temps to switch sides throughout the game with Clark just infront who gave Collocini a right run for his money in the Newcastle friendly when getting balls fed along the ground into him. We dont need a big striker such as Jig or Daly to hold up play if we can pass and move properly and use the pace we have within or squad.

Mcausland and Faure never deserved to be dropped based on their performances this and although you could argue the same for Jig in reality we have better players than him and we need to start playing the best available and not who Ally likes the best.

    Mcausland Moshni Faure Wallace

    Black

    Macleod Law

    Temps McKay

    Clark

Doubt i'll ever see this as a starting 11 though more chance of Stevie Smith starting as a striker lol.

    Fancy a job as manager?

  6. New squad - manager trying different things - only 3 games with full squad available -8 games unbeaten - 5 points clear after 6 league games and a gd of 22 ..

.... And still folks want to say how bad the management team is - oh dear the lack of perspective should no longer surprise me - but it does.

I agree the lack of perspective really surprises me too, have you put into perspective the league we are in and the opposition we are playing? Anybody could managed the group of players we have to win the league comfortably, with the squad we have we should be challenging in the two main cups this year too, and we're already out of one!

It's the blatant poor team selections that get me. Playing a striker as centre half, a left back in midfield (subbing him for a centre half to play in midfield), and a striker on the right wing. Also playing John Daly up front on his own against Forfar and playing long balls up to him, with the centre halves they have playing is crazy.

The team that played yesterday is the type of team you'd pick if you were playing a team far better than you and you were trying to scrape something out of the game.

McCulloch should be up front before Daly as he offers everything Daly does and he's a better finisher. However, neither of them should be playing unless they are playing with another striker as they lack mobility to play the lone striker role.

  7. After a promising start to the season things are slipping back to how they were last year - with players playing out of position, the striker becoming isolated and a lack of creativity in midfield.. The 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 played today didn't work. Daly can't play as a lone striker IMO. What would you do to change it?

I'd love the following line up, it's similar to a 4-4-2 but with two solid central midfielders and four 'front players', like teams like man city, spurs and bayern play.

    Bell

    MacAusland. Moshni. Gasparotto. Wallace

    Law. Macleod

    Mackay. Templeton

    Clark

    Little

Think this would be a really exciting line up, it features a lot of our young and promising players and also gives us a lot of mobility. The front 4 could all effectively play any of the front four positions and switch around during the course of a match.

I don't think we need a defensive midfielder like we always play just now, when one of Macleod or law go forward the other just hangs back. Like toure and fernandinho do for man c.

  8. Would have been a perfect game for the likes of Clark (instead of daly) and McKay (instead of smith) to play. At any level of football especially when you're playing a weaker team if you're playing against big commanding and slow centre backs your manager tells you to play to feet, get balls in behind and use width with quick skilful players. But no wee punt it up to John daly time after time.

  9. Eh, not one of them apart from Guardiola was a legend as a Manager, and Guardiola wasn't a great footballer either IMO.

You don't consider cruyff to be a legend as a football manager!!? Have you any idea what he won/did as a manager? Plus he basically invented a whole new style of football!!

And you don't think guardiola was a great footballer!!? He was one of the best in the world at his position and won everything worth winning for his club.

    Hiya ally
