Have the old guard stabbed their way into the boardroom?
Mark Walters replied to theiconicman's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
And that's fair enough. I can just as easily laugh off any proclamations that he took on the SFA/SPL -

Certainly not Green by any stretch of the imagination. Its in spite of him, Lawwell, Regan and Doncaster that we still have 54 titles attributed to us. -

McCoist saved the club when he gave Green his backing far more than Green ever did. Without his say so ST's wouldn't have been bought in numbers. Did he? How did he go about that exactly? by clapping the fans during a rendition if you 'hate Stewart Regan clap your hands?' this was after we were landed in the 3rd division, something green was desperate to avoid and that included having 5 titles wiped from the history books. again McCoist was the key figure who under no circumstances would agree to that. This is another myth, how did he go about defending the fans? there's no evidence of this. If anything his comical statements after Berwick were more painfully out of touch as any previous regime. We're Rangers, we have one of the biggest fan bases on the planet. Sponsorship was inevitable no matter where we played. and believe it or not our sponsors are still shared with that lot across the city who tried to bury us Again, we're Rangers. We're an investable product especially after debts are wiped and our only route is upwards. Who's to say he might have underachieved. Murray often piled on empty rhetoric of the promised land. it was of course all bullshit. He's a snake oil salesman whose happy to meet his shaftees until the truth outs at which point he's retreated abroad with his share. Again, snake oil salesmen know how to play the gallery. -
We are Rangers in name and history only

Indeed, I must admit when watching the Ramsdens Cup final I was wondering what the fuck we were doing not participating in it. It wont be the highest achievement we'll ever get but while we are in it to win it we should bloody well do so. -

He should, while he should have been working tirelessly to bring in players he was being a snake oil salesman outside the TO promising to bring in players. -

It was a foregone conclusion. You can't realistically call it an achievement. His record is abysmal. -

Yep, hence the unconditional bid, if the CVA was rejected though it would have simply went down the Newco route anyway and they'd have option to bid just as anyone else had.

Malcolm Murray part of the old guard? If Green had kept his trap shut on topics he had no right touching on as CEO then he might still be here and that's before you drag up his dealings and connections to Whyte. Good fucking riddance! Wonder if his case of Rangersitis will see him give his 8% share back to the club/fans? -

So 1872 clothing should cease operations? What a lot of shit. -
Its up there with mini. Oh how we laughed.

I agree actually, TBK's should have had conditional bids. However, you remember the 'show liquidation the red card' dispaly? Their bid was based on fans feelings and their own. If the CVA had failed it would have only led to a newco scenario i.e. assets sale anyway. this notion that Green saved us is bullshit.

McCoist is a shite manager, absolutely terrible. He should leave or be sacked. Plaster treatment required here but that's as far as it should go and the insults should stop. -

I'm not forgetting that at all. At the time it appeared a good move and a step towards saving the club. its highly amusing that you feel his endeavors to do so abhorrent. Ah yes, using the media to garner support. How very dare he? Green of course never done that, he never needed to though as his approval was probably set in stone the minute we were plunged into administration, didn't stop him appointing Media House the minute he had the keys. I bet you were one of those who celebrated when HMRC failed to have their own administrators appointed.. as for the RST. Your sort really need to get over your obsession with them, its deeply unhealthy. He covered up the tax case? and how did he do this given that the figures were released in our annual accounts and the HMRC investigation was well under way and public knowledge? I'd say GTFO to you and your ilk too.

In fact fuck it. I'll answer your point. Congratulations on your crystal clear 20/20 hindsight. Your new name should be Captain Hindsight with South Park's creation as your avatar. Looking back after the court ruling is seems it was an ill attempt but given the fact that they were a major creditor at the time, hence their vote during the CVA process it was simply an attempt to get them struck off the creditors list so that the club could be saved. Imagine wanting to save the company that had owned the club for over 100 years?
