  1. It maybe is time to bring someone else in. But, Ally should be dealt with respect, not getting speculated about by his own club employees in the papers! Aside from football, as I said earlier, Ally said "Green does not care about the club." I trust him. That worries me. I think it would be a dangerous time for Ally to leave. I do not want Green having having unlimited control.
  2. He was having snipes last season trying to undermine him, the attempted coup of the backroom staff, then when he's only back for a day he's mouthing off to the paper saying Ally should be sacked if he doesn't win title and domestic trophy. Surely this is not a way for a club ambassador to behave. I'm not saying Ally should be absolved of any blame, not at all. I think if someone decides should move on though it should be done with dignity not the bile Green spouts. This is Rangers. We do not air our dirty laundry in public. Why is Green so determined to do it now? Lastly, Ally today said "Green does not care about this football club." No matter what I think of him as a manager, I do resect his judgement when it comes to his love of the club and what directon it takes. That statement is very worrying.
  3. Ally may not be up to the job. He today declared though that "Green does not care about this football club." Ally had many dealings with Green as CEO so this statement absolulutely must set alarm bells ringing.
  4. This surely has gone too far. Firstly, the buck today has to stop with the team for the result but no doubt, Green's comments did not help at all. I'm not taking sides with either Green or Mccoist here but it is pretty obvious Green is doing everything he can to try and force Ally out. Surely, no matter what anyone thinks of him as a manager, he deserves far, far more than that. If someone decides his time is up, fine. He should not expect these outburts from Green like we had last season though. Green needs a gagging order. It has to stop.
  5. I really wish we could move on from all this. I am eternally grateful for what Green has done in terms of ensuring we still have a club to go and watch every week. However, I thought we were doing absolutely fine after he left - obviously in a much better state when he first took over. We now have the right balance between 'Rangers men' who we can trust to keep the club in safe hands, and business people who will drive the economic interests in the club. I think we should keep that balance as we have it now. Also, surely most sensible folk would agree that his outburst today about Ally having to win a Cup - rightly or wrongly - was bang out of order and just added pressure. What was he playing at with that jibe? Also, just on a personal level, I couldn't support someone pulling the strings who is so determined to take Rangers out of Scottish football. Regardless of what has gone on between other clubs, I feel that our heritage is in Scotland and i would prefer we were winning titles and leading the way from our home country.

  7. Also done in terms of ensuring we still have a club to go and watch every week. No matter what has happened between other clubs, I think Scottish football is where our heritage is and I'd rather be winning titles and leading the way in our home country.

  10. Just bumped into Andy Goram at Waverley Station in Edinburgh today. Don't think he had much time to speak because he was away visiting mates, can't remember where he said though.
  11. Sorry if this has been posted earlier, not noticed it. With the headlines though about alcohol being brought back to football I wondered what you thought of it? Personally, I think its being pushed by them across the road because they are haemorrhaging support every game and they know season ticket sales will plummet next season. I think its fine as it is. I'm happy enough just having a bovril at the game and going for a drink after. Don't especially want someone pissed sitting next to me at the football every other weekend. What do you think?
  12. At all possible to offer a listen again option?
  13. At the Evening with Walter a few weeks ago he was speaking about how there needs to be a mechanism where big clubs can have greater access to more funds in smaller leagues. I'd prefer to push for that route rather than move permanently to be honest. Just my opinion though.
  14. It'll be interesting to see if the new CEO, whoever it is, pursues the move to England or cross border league in the same way that CG did? Personally I would like to see Rangers back at the top of Scottish football where we should be and competing for titles again. Under Craig Mather though, who had links with Green, I would exect him to carry on pursuing a move, but if it is someone else who knows.
  15. My Dad used to work alongside Davie White at Haliburtons in Arbroath, a good few years after he managed us in the late 60s. From what I've heard he was a really nice guy but if I'm right I think his wife was ill at the time? Just wondered if anyone had any information on him? Probably the Rangers manager we hear least about and the hardest to get any information on. I think he must still be on the go or the Club would have announced it.
  16. I agree we should have a CEO who can fight our corner, where appropriate, and stand up for the club when we are being villified or lied about. I don't think we should move away from "dignity" though because that is the foundations the club was built on. That is what seperates us from many other clubs, not least them across the road. The club was built on the standards and principles of people such as Struth, Symon and Smith and I think we should adhere to those principles. As I say, its always important to speak out when the club and the fans need it but I think the next CEO should choose his comments wisely. The most important thing now is to do the talking on the park and get back to where we should be.

  18. Sad to see him go overall. He was magnificent in having the ability to bring in £20 million through the IPO and of course, we still have a club to support. The only thing I would say, and I might be in the minority, is I hope now we focus on becoming the best club in Scotland again because I'd rather be the big club competing for titles in Scotland, than playing in England where we wouldn't be the big show.
  19. Glad someone agrees it was a sensible question !
  20. Turned into a pretty pointless topic. Sorry I posted it.
  21. Can send you the photo of me and Walter if you like
  22. I used to travel down from the north to Glasgow to watch Rangers as often as possible, just a few weeks ago went to the evening with Walter Smith, go to as many away games as I can get tickets for, yet get called an imposter and tarrier. Interesting.
