  1. My son's wee team played against Rangers at Auchenhowie towards the end of last season. Afterwards they get a wee tour of the place, in the gym their are charts recording various fitness indicators at various different exercises. Alexander was top in almost all, Cribari and Faure were bottom.
  2. Out of the current crop of 'Auchenhowie' 1st team squad members, he is the one player who seems to consistently attract praise and plaudits from the senior members of the squad for his attitude, fitness etc. Problem seeems to be that no-one knows his best position, but hopefully he and MacLeod get given plenty of 1st team action this year and continue to develop. As for the rest of the youngsters at the club, I have high hopes for Aird & MacKay, as for the rest there attitude seems lacking and I'm afraid they have blown the chance to become established at the club e.g. Hutton, Perry, Cole etc
  3. You've lost me...can you give an example? Surely all abuse is by its very nature personal?
  4. Cheers mate...out of interest where do you stand on the black/red socks debate?
  5. So any trialist, say Cammy Bell, could potentially play 5 matches in total before Sep 1st? 3 SPFL + 1 League Cup + 1 Ramsden Cup. imo the stand-out issue for us with all this is that we will have to play 'Gallacher' in goals in 2nd round of League cup, possibly against SPL opposition. We should be able to cope without any of the other trialists, but have the luxury of including one in every matchday squad (assuming Bell is 2nd trialist).

  7. I'm pretty certain that I read somewhere that trialists are allowed to play in any/all matches. I did a wee google search at lunchtime, there doesn't appear to be an 'official' SPFL rulebook online anywhere but found an article which states that.... "clubs outwith the top division to field 2 trialists in each league game. Each trialist can play a maximum of three SPFL games."
  8. Are accusations of being one of 'them' allowed on here?
  9. If/when we sign a new centre half I would assume that both he and Bell will play most weeks/as many games as allowed, so if we are only allowed 2 trialists per match then they would take up the two slots. Is the rule limiting number of trialists on the pitch or in the matchday squad, basically could we have other trialists as subs as long as they replaced another trialist? I've got an awful feeling we could end up making a right mess of this depending on if their is any leeway within the rules as written for differing interpretations.
  10. I'm away on holiday for the Albion Rovers match and will miss the game following weekend too, at least I'm back for the opening league match. When is draw for other cup game made btw?
  11. I know the embargo doesn't end, and therefore we can't 'sign' any players before Sept 1st. I'm also aware that there is a 'loophole' allowing us to play trialist before then, but what are the exact rules? I think it's 2 or 3 trialists per match, with each trialist only allowed to make a certain number of appearances before officially signing on Sept 1st. I'm assuming that Cammy Bell will play as many matches as allowed right up to the limit, so that will take up one of our 'trialist' slots most weeks, out of the other new players who do we really need in the team most? I assume Smith won't feature much as we already have Wallace. Foster may well start whenever possible, I assume he will be 1st choice RB next season. I would love to see Law, but we could play until Sept 1st with MacLeod, Black, Hutton etc in there so including him might be a waste of one of the trialist slots. Peralta, I really don't know enough about to comment. Which leaves Daly and/or Clark OR will we just start the season with Jig and Andy Little up front?
  12. I haven't seen him this week, next time I do I'll take a note of which company it is and hopefully get a pic too.
  13. Can't believe this thread is still running!!! My main point was that the black/red socks are our traditional colours and that every player should be wearing the Rangers shirt/kit correctly and with pride. On a more general point, can't believe that so many Rangers fans don't seem to give a fuck about tradition etc. I honestly believe that as the biggest club in the country, and most successful club in the world, that we are better than the others and that everything about the club, down to the smallest detail should reflect this. I totally agree with the earlier post about Bill Struth inspecting players and that kit was worn properly prior to kick-off. I believe our manager should wear a collar/tie/blazer on the sideline, not take style tips from TLRB. I believe that the team should be wearing shirts/tie etc when we get off the team coach at any/every ground we visit. Socks, the correct socks of course, should be worn properly, jerseys should be tucked into shorts etc. Mobile phones should be banned from training, players should be conducting themselves in an appropriate manner as club representatives at all times... I believe Advocaat and possibly PLG attempted to implement some of these things, maybe it's time to bring them back. It's an honour & a privilege to represent Rangers, a few of our current players don't seem to understand that and I feel it was reflected in our on pitch displays last season.
  14. Are Vanguard Bears the ones called ******** ***** on FF?
  15. I quite fancy that tbh. Few drinks after work, then go to match, and still have Sat/Sun off.
  16. Am I missing something, what does colour of his boots have to do with the wear he wears his socks?
  17. Cheers mate, thanks for reading my OP. I did say that I couldn't view pics on my works pc and could someone please confirm either way. I just assumed that after 3 page of pish he wasn't 'showing red' again. Certainly puts to bed the myth that he ALWAYS turns/rolls his socks down.
  18. Okay, a similar thread was posted after the Linfield game, many thought it wasn't a big issue, some others did and a myth was created about him always turning/rolling his socks down, have I missed anything out?
  19. Nee, Naw, Nee, Naw here comes the spelling polis!!!
  20. Since signing for Rangers Ian black has had to wear the traditional black/red socks only twice. On both occasions he deliberately for some reason 'adjusted' the socks to 'hide' the red. Most seem to think it minor/trivial and my mention of it petty, so if the matter is so minor/trivial why can't he just wear the socks the same way as every other Rangers player before him? Surely for a few grand he week he can manage it, he didn't do much else last season imho.
  21. A sensible response amongst a see of nonsense. My point exactly, I don't know the exact rules regarding strips etc but imho no-one should be 'adjusting' any item of the Rangers strip for any reason. As for the turning/rolling down socks excuse, I've managed to find plenty of pics where he doesn't seem to have turned/rolled them down so, no he doesn't ALWAYS do it, only sometimes unless it's the traditional Rangers socks when he ALWAYS turns/rolls the top down. Might seem petty to some on here BUT the black/red socks are a longstanding Rangers tradition and should be regarded as such by both players and fans alike. If we allow the 'tradional' strip to be changed what will be next, some of our 'traditional' songs, will others be allowed to decide the colour of our 2nd and/or 3rd strips? Oh, and btw Ally should be wearing a shirt/tie blazer in the dugout not taking fashion tips from his golfing buddy TLRB.
  22. So it's Dingwall/RST/FF again.....? As most ppl on here don't seem to like Dingwall/RST/FF too much I assume that they are thought to be 'too friendly' with them or involved in some sort of deal?
  23. I read a thread last week on here about the book & 'author fees' etc...it seemed very petty and fixated on exact words/wording but I'm new here, so I assume there is history or a reason I'm unaware of. Does anyone know if the book will be for sale in the Ibrox Megastore? I'm popping up ther sometime next week before I go on holiday and it would save me ordering it online.
  24. I'm relatively new on here, only been on for about a week, but have noticed a few on here have an issue with The Rangers Standard and/or Chris Graham. Personally, they seem pretty inoffensive, if a bit full of themselves, is that the issue with them or is it something else/bigger?
