  1. Why on earth did Brahim not start last night? I know he didnt have the best finish to last season but he is in a different class to Dailly.

    Ridiculous decision

It'll make him more sellable if he ain't cup-tied in Europe....same as Cousin!!!

    Exactly.

  2. Murray couldn't give a f*ck how good the football is, all he wants is your money.

    ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

If thats the case, get him tae fuk then. The punters should stage a protest. Time for him to come out and set the record straight or fuk off. Fans need to let him know that he may be the owner, but its the fans club. At the end of the day, Its the fans that make the decisions. Not show, no income.

The club is becoming a fukin laughing stock as each week goes on.

  3. The last time we won a home game in Europe was Werder Bremen thanks to two howlers from their keeper Weise, and before that it was Stuttgart in the first game of the Champions League.

Our home record is actually fucking abysmal, I'm concerned that we'd get absolutley humped in the group stages with Walter's negative tactics going for a no score draw all the time.

I actually have zero confidence in this team when it comes to games settled over 90 minutes any more, I'm bricking it about Falkirk next Saturday!

Papaguy, no need to panic....the simple fact is we will NOT get into the group stages of CL.

I don't think we will even get past Kaunus to be honest. If this does happen and we get knocked out next week, something seriously needs to be done to send a message to Murray, Bain and Smith that its totally unacceptable.

    Heads must roll.

  4. My question to you all is Does David Murray attend the games? If so, how can he sit back and watch the drivel that is being served up?

If he is tryimng to sell the club, surely you would think that to make the club attractive, he would at least have some asssets on the park that is worth something? Ibrox and Murray Park speak for themselves, but the shyte that is on the pitch at the moment is simply not that attractive an option for a potential buyer. The new owner would have to invest considerable amounts of money to bring this inept squad up to scratch and 'compete at all levels'.

What do the fans need to do to get Murray to invest more coin? I honestly hope that someone has the balls to have a red hot crack at the AGM and ask what the fuk is going on with the clubs finances, his possibility of selling and moving on, and how much money is he prepared to invest in this piss poor squad of players we have....now.

    Just my opinion.

  5. People are judged on the decisions they make.....unfortunately if Walters meanderring or lack of bollocks to stand up to Murray (if indeed it is Murray who will not spend on resources required) fails to see us into the CL, then I would suggest that it is time for him to go.

Legend maybe, but his time will be up if the team that he has failed to strengthen does not proceed into the CL proper.

We will be the laughing stock of the Scottish Football.. I for one could not bear the slagging that will come our way. and we all know from what direction that it shall come from.

  6. Mark Hately is a knob. He was when he played for Rangers and he still is now. Arrogant twat. He is riding on the coat tails of his so called fame many moons ago and should call it how it is, for the sake of the very fabric of the club that paid his very hansom wages in the early 90's and still even now as an ambassador of RFC.

    The guy is a parasite.

  7. Rangers have just enjoyed their best season in Europe for years and Walter Smith has set about attempting to take the club to the next level by splashing out the best part of £4million on a young British striker.

Smith's men face a trip to face rivals Celtic before the end of August and are preparing to take on a side from eastern Europe in a vital Champions League qualifier.

That was the state of play for Smith and Rangers back in 1993, the season after the Gers came within a whisker of reaching the Champions League final, with Duncan Ferguson a £4million summer signing from Dundee United as the club geared up to face Bulgarians Levski Sofia in Europe's premier competition.

It's a strangely familiar tale for Smith 15 years on following the big-money capture of Northern Ireland international striker Kyle Lafferty from Burnley as he tries to get his UEFA Cup runners-up ready to face FBK Kaunas of Lithuania in the Champions League next week.

But in 1993, Smith saw his side tumble out against Sofia, a result which came in the middle of a run of one win in eight games in the league while Ferguson struggled to make an impact, often being deployed out of position as a left winger - fans will be hoping history does not repeat itself with Kaunas and Lafferty.

So, do Gers fans have genuine cause for concern on this score?

Well, for me the answer is yes. The deadline to sign players to face Kaunas has passed and there can be little doubt that the squad is actually weaker than it was last season, depsite having spent around £8million.

It was clear to most that Smith needed to make addressing the midfield area a priority after his side ended the season with just the Scottish and CIS Cups to show for their efforts.

Even with Steven Davis, who has gone back to Fulham, and Barry Ferguson, ruled out for three months with injury, Rangers lacked a player who could open up defences or who could get beyond the strikers and provide a goalscoring threat.

So when the club parted with the best part of £7million to bring in strikers Kyle Lafferty, Kenny Miller and Andrius Velicka, Ibrox fans must have thought Sir David Murray had given Smith a blank cheque to overhaul his squad.

But that has turned out not to be the case.

Defenders Christian Dailly and Andy Webster have been handed new deals which raised eyebrows in some quarters, while Davie Weir will also stay on for another year.

But as yet, the midfield issue remains unaddressed and Kaunas must believe they will never have a better chance of beating Rangers and making it to the Champions League third qualifying round.

Yes, the Lithuanians should be comfortably beaten, but Smith is surely taking an unnecessary risk here.

Even Rangers' strongest midfield was dominated on numerous occasions in Europe and in the SPL last season, although results in the main masked this. Eventually they will be caught out.

Having spent what now appears to be the bulk of his transfer budget on three strikers to supplement Kris Boyd, Jean-Claude Darcheville, Daniel Cousin and Nacho Novo, when only one is likely to start in the big games, fans have every right to wonder what on earth is going through Smith's mind.

It seems almost impossible to think that a man who takes a club to their first European final in 36 years and have come within a few results of winning every trophy available should be under pressure at this stage, but a number of fans are beginning to question his judgement.

The controversial signing of Miller lowered his stock with the majority while the Steven Davis transfer saga seems perplexing - if Rangers want the player they should sign him.

They would be getting a young international player who has already impressed at the club and who wouldn't need a settling in period having been on loan for a couple of months.

It seems a no-brainer given how crucial it is for Rangers to start the season well. Should they progress against Kaunas, they would face a two-legged tie worth around £10million to reach the Champions League in a two-week spell which includes trips to Aberdeen and Celtic.

Surely if Smith believes Lafferty is worth spending almost £4million on, paying a similar fee for Davis would be decent business?

Citing finance as a reason not to sign the midfielder he wants will not wash with fans after spending heavily on unnecessary forwards.

More than anything though, the Ibrox faithful are unhappy with Smith's style of play.

The ultra-negative tactics were tolerated last season - they would not have reached the UEFA Cup final had they not played that way.

It may have been boring and unimaginative but it worked because they simply did not have the personnel to play in a more open way against top quality opposition.

But if pre-season is anything to go by, it will be more of the same for the Ibrox punters as Rangers sat ten men behind the ball and hoped for the best in the 1-0 defeat to Schalke.

If Rangers don't bring in at least two midfielders, they won't win the league, it's as simple as that for me.

Yes they came so close to winning a sensational quadruple and there can be little doubt the sheer number of games they had to play had an adverse affect on their title hopes, but Rangers won just one of ten away games against fellow top six opposition last season.

Only Hibs were beaten on their own patch and that must be a huge concern for Smith.

Dundee United in particular found it relatively easy to get on top of Rangers' defensive style and dominate them in games and Smith lacked a player who could produce one moment of magic.

Celtic found themselves in a similar situations on the road many times last year, but could nearly always rely on a piece of skill from Aiden McGeady, or a free-kick from Shunsuke Nakamura and all of a sudden a game they should have drawn or lost became a hard-earned three points.

More fans are becoming concerned that a glorious opportunity to strengthen is being missed given the exposure and money raked in from their European run on top of the January sale of Alan Hutton to Tottenham.

Smith must address his obvious midfield problems, or he could find his side out of Europe and well off the pace in the SPL title race by the end of August.

If that is the case, like 1993 he will only have himself to blame. And the fans may not be so forgiving this time.

I dont think that I have read a better article on here for a long time.

Spot on. The bears will be callling for legends like Smith and Mc Coists head if we fail against Kaunus. Murray will face a revolt of the biggest order should we do the unthinkable and not get past Kaunus this coming week.

    Hold yer breath.

  8. Our great club will never see another like him. He is a legend of the club and the emotion he showed when scoring for the club is an example of the times when players played for the shirt and the fans !

    Champion bloke as well.

  9. McGregor will be out the door at the end of the season - obviously sold for a good price. I understand that he has been a naughty boy and has been frequenting the bedroom of a lady whos family doesnt approve. He will need to leave Glasgow as with his mate Hutton did as staying could prove to be detrimental to his own personal safety.

Anyone else know of the story that McGregor played with a Broken thumb for 12 weeks without it being made public? Apparently it didnt happen by accident !

  10. i had the opportunity to watch the UEFA cup final in manchester and was a good opportunity to watch the whole game...not just what you see on the TV coverage. I was extremely dissapointed with Fergusons mobility and movement, but not just him. It was all over the park ! I can not believe that we are so inept in ideas going forward? Walter likes to stay in the game as long as he can, and unfortunitlay with this style of football, when you do go behind late in games, Its panic stations and its always too late. Hugely dissapointed with our team structure at the moment. Turning point for me was when we sold Hutton. At the time he left, he was the only driving forward option the team had and since we have lost this, well there has been no drive in this team. Big changes needed. Get shot of the plodders and one paced players, and get in some athletic, ambitious players.

  11. The best team on the day won and thats all that matters, for me, I think Sir Walter got it wrong on the night....we should have went for it...1 off game, final, ? If it was me, I would have generated the strength of the crowd both inside and outside the stadium to drive the Gers to a positive, go get em approach. Who know how Zenit would have reacted if we went at them from the start? Nothing to lose, go for it in any final ! No-one remebers who comes second.

  12. Well thats me then guys, last post and then Off to Glasgow tomorrow morning from Dubai and catching up with a mate I havent seen in 15 years ! Then on to Manchester on Tuesday. Cant wait to see over 100,000 bears in Manchester.

    See you all there,

Lets make history. We are the people. No Surender !

    Shuugy.

  13. Fellow Bears, Does anyone have a link on the web that has downloads of Rangers Tunes Songs etc? Im going to make a CD to take with me to Glasgow and blast them out on the drive down to Manchester...just to get the party started ! We Are The People.

    Cheers in advance

    Shuggy

  14. I raised this issue a while ago. The Players should go to the PFA and complain about the Health and Safety risks associated with this madness of fixture pile ups. If the players do not have it in their PFA agreement that they should be entitled to a certain amount of rest between games, then Fraser Wishart needs to be asked some serious hard questiopns. I know in the Australian Rules competition, the players union has agreed something like a minimum of 6 days between games.Sensible approach. If god forbid one of the players has a turn through all of this ! I would hate to be in the shoes of the SPL. It would be goodnight vienna if any individual or family were to prosecute the SPL for negligence - all in the name of Sporting Integrity.......My Arse !

  15. League cup tucked away at Ibrox, Cup finals of the UEFA and Scottish Cup, and still up to us to win the League ?

Correct me if Im wrong, but anyone have the balls to state that they are not happy to be a bear at the moment?

League titles are won, not given away. We will win this league title, this squad has the guts to win it.

Even better to win it again on the last day, especially at the home of the sheepshaggers.

  16. 5 from 5, its still in our hands, we can still do it be positive, celtic have hibs at home and they will win that - but their last game is dundee utd away and i've been watching them lately & im confident they will lose points at dundee utd - darly king has turned into a right wee mickey bastard lately!

Daryl King is a knob of the highest proportion. Full blown Taig.

Go on Big DJ...get intae him. Bastard.

Lets be honest guys, the papes to be at the SPL havent helped with this fixture fiasco. The want the league to go to the last day. Its a fukn conspiracy !
