That was his assistant who flagged every time Morelos won the ball. They couldn't muscle him off the ball so kept going to ground knowing they'd get the decision.

Not one of the officials seemed to have a grasp of the Laws of the game. I hope they aren't anywhere near the return match, they were an embarrasment.

I looked the ref up. He has reff'd five senior games before in his life - 1 CL qualifier and 4 Polish top flight games. He is 41. He is a professional referee i.e. no other job. Is it really so unbelievable that he might have a sniff at the brown paper bag with $100 000 in it? Anyone who has done business in Russia knows how the place works. As some on here have said, the fact we won despite the refereeing is testament to our strength. And by God yes, let's hope he has nothing to do with the return leg. How about a Western European with a decent job for the second leg?

  2. We should make sure our technical analysis guys have an eye on the video for Motherwell as much as Rangers right through the match. Let them know we are watching. This man is as thick as mince - thank to this comment, I think Well will ship even more goals on Sunday now.

  3. On top of ticket sales etc there will be 785,000 Euros received as "prize money" by the end of the ties with Maribor alone. That is also money the club wouldn't have got elsewhere. When you look at the paltry sums on offer for prize money in Scotland (cups and league) then the benefits of a run in Europe are clear.

him and morelos up front next season.

funny I was thinking this when reading the Morelos thread. As things stand, with Miller gone and Herrera on the way out, if Morelos goes this boy is the only option in a #9 role apart from Windass, am I right?

Saved us again today no doubt the board will see him as a sellable asset in January.

agree adnd Warburton is in for him but we must not sell for less than 2.5 million. If they won't pay then walk away...

    Bang on mate.

There are players out there in those prices still. We should be looking at players in smaller nations that have won league titles or have international caps and you can get players who have both for the price range you are quoting. celtic do it, why can't we?

He's right. The trouble is every once in a while you dig out a gem like Morelos for 1m and then the board think they can do that 11 times over and everyone's happy. Whereas the truth is that most of those players are at those clubs for a reason. I've also seen, time and again, players come to Scotland and excel for a few months then drop their standards and become bang average at best.

The irony is that if Warburton comes in for Tav and Fod at say 2 million each, this board will sell and tell themselves they've done good business because they got them for buttons. As everyone is saying, the problem is they really need to spend 2.5-3 million on two DECENT replacements from DECENT teams. There must be some talent at Wolves or similar we could get for that kind of money?

  7. I noticed that against RC his problems are now reduced to his first touch and his lack of aerial ability. I thought he looked faster in that last game and seemed to take up decent positions. He still lacks aggression and the first touch was, for me, woeful. If he's under pressure he will lose the ball, end of. Unless that changes, he's just not good enough. I would still like to see a little more of Niko, even if only in a cameo...

I personally think the standard of refereeing is very poor. One of the things that stands out that the referees in this league don't seem to relate to the players well; they are stand offish, and I see very little dialogue between players and referees here. I think in some  other leagues the players and referees have dialogue at times during matches. I don't see that here, and I think it contributes to games getting out of hand.

This. I've seen better referees in my old man's league. Also when you watch other leagues it gives you some perspective on how bad the SFA ones are...

Would be a maybe or maybe not just like all the possibilities basically

Yep, as King said at AGM. Still think McInnes appointment - while I get the reasons why (low risk, proven in SPL, knows club and league) represents a lack of imagination and means we will not get beyond Europa qualifiers until 2021....

Good luck to him, personally think he was harshly treated by us as he had to overhaul an entire team in just 1 window. This will become apparent when the next manager gets pelters  after our 1st dropped points aka murty for the job after 2 wins then a defeat it's he's fucking shite no his fault he's not up to it etc etc

This all day long. Wish him all the best and I think time will come to tell that internal politics played a big part in his failure. Let's see if Murty has the stones to drop Kenny tomorrow in favour of Morelos. I think we all know the answer. Front two will be Miller and Morelos.

    :dunno:

Seems to know nothing more than the rest of us

Yep. I'd also heard the rumour that the Board always wanted Caxhina before Warburton but PC couldn't come/was too expensive to buy out at that time. So they hung Warbs out to dry hoping he would leave so they could bring Pedro in. In that part of the scenario they got 10/10, however messy. Where they went wrong (if that's true) was they were targeting the wrong guy (PC) in the first place. Kind of gives you the fear for what they are going to do next unless (please God) they leave the job to the DoF...

One bad manager and one useless stop-gap.

The board have made their bed. Letting KM run the dressing room and basically pick the team. Get Dorrans, Alves and Cardoso back. Drop Miller and Windass. Bring in Herrera or Hardie for Miller. Tell Miller any more shite and his contract is ripped up. Tell Pena if he doesn't perform then he's away in January.

I thought Tav looked seriously demoralised tonight and I think it's because he and others know damn fine Kenny M, who heads straight at goalkeepers and tries ridiculous overhead kicks, is running the show.

No point in defending Pedro now but time will tell us that KM went after him when Pedro dropped him, and PEdro was finished. That, and the poor decision to spend 33% of his cash on Pena. EDIT - Declan John was the only positive tonight, and possibly Ryan Jack. Morelos until the injury. The rest can, as they say, do one.

  13. His goose was cooked when he spent 2m on Pena and for that money could have had moult, walker and mclean. Like the guy very much but that was too much of a gamble. And having spent 25% of his budget on a dud he must then have felt obliged to play him. Regardless, he has left us with a better squad and is a good man - hope he goes on to good things. And -- from 5000 miles distance -- yes it shows you what a shower of shite most of Scottish football is. But then, that's what drew me to this club - a dose of quality and reality in Scottish football's ocean of sectarian pish. We will prevail.

Allardyce walked away from Palace due to a lack of funds, I assume you can see where I'm going.

Windass should have been shown the door in the summer, Pena doesnt seem interested, I'd play Nemane on the left against Killie.

Oh and if you are near the St Lawrence market, send me some peameal bacon.

aha. Yes I can re:: big Sam. Agree re: Windass etc. I now live on the West Coast - must update my avatar!

Get what you are saying but even Man U's patience would have run out if he hadn't won the cup.

Personally, I'd give him till Xmas to turn it around that's even assuming we can afford to pay him off.  Then the small matter of who we can afford to bring in?

As others have said, if it goes that way then it has to be wallets out and big Sam Allardyce or someone who will make the players sh1t themselves and sit up and take notice. I believe PC should be given more time but even I'm worried by the blind faith in Josh Windass and the patience shown with Pena. I want to see Nemane get a start on Wednesday and Kenny back in the #10 role, or Herrera, but surely to God Windass has had it now. Pena was fucking dreadful against Well, TBH

Id keep him but unfortunately the majority of our fans have seen enough already, NEXT!

His win ratio as of today is 53%. Compare that with Ally and Warburton. I remember when people thought MW was the messiah. Maybe this will go the other way. Just for the data - 25 games played; 14 wins; 7 losses; 4 draws.

  17.  - Hibs got three shots on target and scored from two of them. I think many of us feel frustrated (but I've not seen it elsewhere yet) that defensively they are GASH and Gordon is error-prone; yet somehow no-one has managed to beat them in the last 60 games - last bit of that is the frustrating bit. Yes they are strong middle to front but TBH it was hard to tell them and hibs apart for crap defending today, though Hibs were particularly bad in places. Not sure what the answer is tactically but maybe to get players with total pace to have a right go at them (Candeias, Nemane) then make sure the back four stays back, e.g. Tav and Wallace not wandering forward as they tend to do?
