I’ll walk this back. If I offended anyone by my posts today I apologize. I couldn’t even tell you how long I’ve had a membership on this board .. truthfully. And I definitely know I seldom post. Yeah, I do have opinions on Rangers. I kind of know the inner workings from close friends who have been involved over the last decade or so, my wife being one of them. But that’s why I don’t post much. And maybe a reason I shouldn’t post period. So respectfully, let’s not beat a dead horse to death. I actually regret even logging in today where it allowed me to post. Normally, I read this forum daily by lurking.

I’m as far as a Catholic as you can get . I grew up in Stornoway, live in the states now. You make a shit load of assumptions. I just have a contrary opinion about a dedicated thread. The comfort of people who look like you, feel like you,speak like you think like you. You fear being threatened by opinion, wounded by words, offended by attitudes, damaged by differences.. bowing out. Just be a fucking normal human being.

That’s fine . I have no clue who started it. It’s not really relevant. Just surprised that some of our support waste key stokes on another team which we have no control over. And if one person says “ I think they have better players “ or “ celtic players know how to win and our team are losers” . It ends up with posters calling them imposters or calling for their season ticket numbers and wanting to dox them. It’s fucking toxic.

I don’t post often. Just a little surprised that this forum gives the oxygen to a dedicated thread. It may serve a purpose and I’m completely wrong. That’s fair. And I’ll stand corrected if mods feel otherwise. It’s just a little weird to me that people want to waste time and energy into a celtic thread . Especially when there are obvious key weaknesses in current squad. My other comment was based on financials.

Despite my low post count ( not exactly same topic) you may be surprised at my internal knowledge of what’s going on. And I’ll simply leave it at that.

There’s also a Scottish Football thread. Curious why discussion should not be there … rather than a dedicated thread that invariably turns into a dumpster fire. I woudn’t give these fuckers the satisfaction of a dedicated thread . I may know the answer though … they’re Irish not Scottish ;-)

I don’t fucking understand why this thread gets so much traction. Some poster mentions Lennon and child support and another talks about some comment about see you in May by Rodgers. It’s irrelevant to Rangers . Yet the current manager was defending the fucking team for drawing in Dundee as a better performance than Ross county. Mods should simply lock this thread… it serves no purpose. Rangers need to sort their own shit out.. regardless of what the scum are doing.

What's mind numbing is there is a new thread started on here regularly complaining about its headlines and coverage. With the usual comments about boycotting it. It's simple ... don't read it. If you rely on that rag for your news... there is no hope for you. I never give that publication a second thought until someone starts a thread on here and reminds of it's pathetic existence. Any serious taig pretending to be a fan of rangers would be asking for him to be given more time. Not starting a thread questioning his ability. But maybe he ain't a serious taig and doesn't get it. Most imposters would be begging for MW to stay... although we have more serious issues than the manager IMHO.

That's human nature for you. I guess being an ex pat living in the states, I'm not so caught up in all the goings on anymore. I can take a more pragmatic approach. When Rangers were dominating Scottish football our support filled away stadiums to the brim, I'm sure that gets a bit tiresome for fans of smaller clubs. Our singing, beating their teams convincingly, taking over their stadiums winning trophy after trophy. In a way I can't blame other fans rejoicing in our current situation, they have gone through decades watching Rangers ( for the most part) dominate Scottish football. Of course, the bigger picture is that our support bought concessions, put money into shops, put money into other teams coffers. But as fans of the smaller teams that is of little relevance from a football perspective. I'll use the New York Yankees as an example, in the states you either hate them or love them. There are loads of teams that can't win a world series and the dislike is based on being able to buy the best players and again, for the most part dominating baseball. If you are not a fan of Yankees fan you tend to dislike them more than any other team because it's based on success. It's the same with Rangers... Rangers will be back, it's going to take longer that I think a lot of people anticipate, they will reach the top once again. However, I'm not going to get to upset if the fans of other teams want to rejoice and have a laugh at our expense. I'd probably do the same...I think it's hypocritical of us to think otherwise. Remember when Celtic were going bust, it was not just our support that were having a good laugh, I remember fans from Dundee, St Mirren, Aberdeen and the one Morton supporter were all delighted at their potential demise. Now, the media that's another story...I don't expect fans to be impartial but media has show some kind of semblance of impartiality.
