  1. Tricky one with selection as we don't know who is available but I'd like to see this team on Thursday

    Butland

    Tav, Goldson, Soutar,  Ridvan

    Diomande,  Lundstram,  Lawrence

    Matondo , Roofe, Silva

I prefer Silva more central but he has great ability so can slot in there just fine......roofe I feel would be a better fit for this game, he tires then bring on big dessers.

We have a massive part to play in this game , if the crowd are right behind them and as noisy as we can be then I'm pretty sure Benfica will be rather fragile.....bigger and better have crumbled under the lights at Ibrox.

If we score first Benfica will be in trouble.

    2-1 Rangers.

  2. I always remember that moment when he first came, game at Ibrox and he charged down a lost cause wins the ball does a wee Ronaldo chop then sets up Waghorn......typifies his desire , specially because it was near the end of that particular game.

  3. It was a great result , horrible place to go made even worse I'd imagine when the players find out they smashing goals past dundee.........this weekend is super important , us at home to the Mwell who I'm confident we will get a result and positive performance , the mhamky mob need to travel to the capital to face hearts and I think we will see them slip up here.

We keep on marching , we'll done to the lads tonight.....super important result.

  4. This a potential banana skin game for me,  killie having already beaten us and taking points from the other mob means they can't be underestimated......and with the game at that rubbish pitch it makes a little more tricky.

That being said we are fluent ATM and we need to just get a result, performances have been great of late but this one I wouldn't mind a rotten performance and 3 points.

    2-0 for the famous.

    Butland

    Tav, Goldson, Soutar,  Ridvan

    Diamande,  Lundstram, Lawrence

    Mcausland , Silva , Cortes.

Won’t get 6 or 7 clear chances that he needed last night against the bigger sides and that’s the difference that we need.

I agree with thus but we simply have to give him credit , he was a bawhair away from another few goals.

  6. Obviously it'll be a tight game although I'd love it to be easy but this is such a great chance for us to show them we are taking this league by the scruff of the neck......defeat is not an option imo.

That being said I believe we will win and play our game we should we win, we're the guys on the up and they are going the other way......show em who's boss Rangers.

  7. If we keep the consistency the pressure on them will be monumental, before the hearts game I had a look at their fixtures and I think they will be dropping more points......dundee, hibs , Aberdeen, hearts, all away, plus we can inflict damage in our game.

All ifs and buts, however I'd we have aspirations to win this league then we have seize this moment.

  8. Like most his finishing seems a bit off ATM but I'll cut him lots of slack given he's not had a proper run of games........I believe he will become more clinical, even if he doesn't then he'll still score a few goals in any case but I hope the ruthless side comes as we've missed a proper goal scorer since ....

    Wel forever it seems

I think we can say in hindsight David Murray did not end well for us...but if you look at his personality, he absolutely did not want to lose at any cost. He always wanted to be ahead of them, if they spent he would spend more (yes I know....), he always wanted to undermine them in any way psychologically (think what signing Johnstone did to them), he wanted to fight the SFA on out behalf....The softness at our club now and tolerance of average standards starts at the board. We have spent too much time bridge building and not enough time trying to become totally dominant in all respects. Too much low level bickering between low level businessmen when they should be working to attract serious international money into the club. They need to very closely scrutinise their own performance. Board members have put their money in which is fair, but thousands of fans have too and the mood is turning as ongoing poor decisions and lack of serious investment.

People can say what they want about Murray, I loved when he was at our club.....gave me the very best times supporting Rangers.

Only downside was when Advocaat came, as the money spent then was a little too much given the massive rebuild after our failed 10.....plus the building of the training complex.

If I could do it all again the same way.....I think I could settle for that.

  10. Only thing I'm glad off is being in a new job restricts my time being able to go to games......family and friends now get my ST when I can't make it....phew.

I was optimistic about the team near the start of the season but the failures have mounted up and imo its beyond repairing. New players not up to scratch, Butland the exception the rest however I just can't see a Rangers career in any of them. Old players , tav etc are simply past their sell by date

All those players and we still don't have a defence, midfield or attack.

  11. Unfortunately he won't get sacked and likewise I now can't see him being the right man for the job.

Every test he has had so far , he's failed. Ok last season you can maybe give him some slack given the mess Gio had created.

Early in the season I know but to fail so badly in Europe and also falling on our faces at home against a poor celtic team who had a new defence and players missing its just not acceptable. Why would we just waste time with sticking with Beale when we already know the outcome at the end of the season.....only silverware he has a chance of winning is the 1 celtic are already out.

Take the hit Rangers and get someone in with a clear brand and style of football.

  12. It's a bad day when our most influential player is our goalkeeper........Time and again we follow the team only to be let down constantly in the big games.

Absolutely no flow or style to our play, today celtic didn't even have to be any good to beat us and tbh they did so without too much fuss.

Beale should never have had waited so long to try and change it, was clear we needed a different approach at half time.....not the 66th minute or whatever it was.

So underwhelmed by this group of players and tbh the way its going its not going to get better.........they always seemed to have an extra guy in almost every area of the pitch. Feel sorry for guys who done a lot of running today only to be let down by those infront and behind them.

Going to be a long season.
