  1. Not being disrespectful to Peterhead here but on form I think we could take 7 or 8 off them ( they might score a couple aswell though). To put in bluntly we have an exceptional record at Hampden Park. In general the Highland clubs have been a breath of fresh air for the Scottish senior game. Very well run, very progressive, unlike the club dinosaurs particularly in the West Central belt who in terms of vision are still living in Neolithic times. Hell fucking mend them. No I've definitely got no axe to grind with the Highland clubs, apart from Aberdeen, but that's a given eh.

This is a treble that probably no other team will ever be able to get. It would indeed be very special if we manage it.

Definitely, plus there can't be any other club in the World that has won every single available National Domestic Cup or League Championship. After we beat Peterhead in the Challenge Cup we will have won every single senior trophy there is to win in Scotland. This will NEVER be repeated.

Just want the entire Tournament to pass off Peacefully and everyone gets home safe. Will be cheering on the Ulstermen  :ulster: and watching the "new and improved" England with a keen interest after their performance last night... The media do put you off with their bias and talking utter drivel but the songbook and the young players the have make them my 2nd team at this years Euros..even though in general I detest International Football the tournaments are indeed (hopefully) better than a Summer with no Football..

I concur with this, hope all goes well security wise, and its Ulster for me, also with an eye on England and Wales, but as the tournament progresses and the media start their nonsense, well you know what I mean. The People's Front of Judea are looking good for a semi final berth however.

Immaturity for me, possibly, denial?  no m8, I can be our harshest critic when I think its warranted, for me its simply as you put it in original post, I just cant bear watching us lose, although I do take your point about seeing where things have went wrong.

Fair enough mate, like yourself I just can't bring myself to watching it, I've tried ha, and quickly turned it off. Not watched the Falkirk game either, well that's a lie, I did and turned it off at exactly 73minutes lol

  5. Ive probably put this thread in wrong section, but im old and dicrepit so I have an excuse.

For me Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Hope Eire get pumped in their 3 games and sent packing early. It really does hack me off that they include Eire as a home nation in the media and have done for years. In my eyes they are as much of a home nation as Italy, France and Spain. The English media are the main culprits in this, they have arse rimmed the Irish since the days of Jack 'Wanker' Charlton. Foreign country for me and for many others.

I am exactly the same, I just cant do it, the result is depressing enough without putting myself through a re-run of it, I hate Rangers getting beat by anyone, it ruins my week and puts me in a right cunt of a mood.

I agree, but are we showing immaturity by not watching it, or denial that everything in the garden is rosy, BTW I'm not having a dig at anyone, just trying to challenge myself and others.

  7. Was just watching the highlights of our win yesterday, and this lead me to realising that I never watch Rangers highlights if we don't win. I think I have always been like that. For example I have never watched a re run of the UEFA Cup final and don't intend to. Even on YouTube if it's a game we haven't won, I will skip it and move onto the next. Am I then missing out on seeing areas of my team that need improvement or is this common among supporters. I will be honest, I just can't bring myself to watch games we have lost, unless I'm actually at the match itself.

Very true David Holmes is very often forgotten when we look at this period. If it was not for him it would never have happened .

Good point, Yip, Davie Holmes was a thoroughly decent man, and as you said very much forgotten and underated for what he done for our club.

    This

Until he smashes the Illusion that some day some how he shall have the ability to control his drinking then I fear for his future but there Is always hope. As you probably know there Is a place where he could go and recover but only when he throws In the towel entirely and not a corner at a time.

The illusion you described is the greatest tragedy of the alcoholic drinker, as you rightly say it needs to be smashed, that illusion is a lie, a complete and utter diabolical lie.

  10. It is true that alcoholism is sometimes coupled by another serious and underlying mental health issue, or with illnesses such as OCD, anxiety and depression. These need to be treated as separate entities, and the recovery rates and times vary from person to person and illness to illness. When it comes to alcoholism or any addiction to a mind altering substance the greatest factor for success is the Willingness to stop. You could employ the best counsellor in the land or go to the best treatment centre in the World, but without the Willingness you are completely wasting your time and that of others, plus giving false hope to your family, friends and loved ones. I am very fortunate, when I put the cork on the bottle many years ago, all my fears, anxieties and depression went with it, for some though it is just the start of the journey. I do not get complacent though, as one slip and I will find myself back in the gutter where it all began.

What needs to be Gazza's 1st thought is NOT TO LIFT THE 1st Drink..he continues to do this..and no matter the best intentions and promises he makes..as soon as he takes the 1st he is off and running..as regards another poster doubting the validity of the pic as he looked so good 13th March.  I'm not going to believe everything that the sun does or say..but it would be an accurate picture of the aftermath that will befall an alcoholic who continues to drink. I love the man as much as I loved the player. I will keep him in my Prayers and hope he gets well...ODAAT..

    Well Said brother

  12. More of the same on its way to a Stadium near you very soon. Glasgow is red, white and blue. Always has been, always will be. That mob are merely just unwanted guests in this great city of ours. Your visa's have ran out, now piss off home.

  13. If you know the history....... It's enough to make you....... tighten the belt on yer troosers, tie yer shoe laces tight, and run like fuck as far away from the place as possible.

  14. There are no hopeless cases in this world, but I do fear the worst for Paul, this illness is cunning, baffling and very powerful. The alcohol is just a symptom of a deeper, underlying malady driven by a thousand forms of fear. Please Paul, step into the solution and begin your recovery again. You know it works.
