Obviously the title would be the ultimate stamp of our return to their one horse race but aside from that I would absolutely love to still be in Europe after they make their exit. Just imagine the rubbing in opportunities that would afford.
Yes we still need to win the cup for a chance at that but having looked at the Hibs forums even they don't think they have much of a chance. Yes they have some insisting they are going to do it but the more realistic among them rate their chances 70/30 at best and so would I.

He's such a likeable character and I absolutely love his sheer joy as he charges up the field from his line when the final penalty sailed way over the bar. Penalty shoot outs are one rare occasion when a goalie can get any glory approaching the kind the goal scorers get and he was joyous in his moment. Sure he didn't actually touch the ball but the very fact he was standing on that line is the reason the ball was fired into orbit. He psyched him out and deserves the moment as he runs upfield to be mobbed by the team. This was the biggest match and the greatest moment of his career to date. The type of magical moments in front of capacity crowds he joined us for.

Terry Butcher has told Rangers to offer manager Mark Warburton a long-term contract after insisting: "The best is yet to come".
Former Rangers defender Butcher has been hugely impressed by the job done by his fellow Englishman since he took over at Ibrox last summer.
Warburton has guided the club back to the Ladbrokes Premiership and can wrap up a trophy treble if he follows up last month's Petrofac Training Cup win with another victory in the William Hill Scottish Cup on Saturday.
Rangers take on another of Butcher's old sides Hibernian but the former England captain believes there will be plenty more showcase occasions to come under Warburton.
However, he fears that Warburton - who has two years to run on his existing Rangers contract - could be prised away by an English club.
His name was recently included on a short-list of names Everton are rumoured to be considering as they seek a replacement for Roberto Martinez.
Butcher told Press Association Sport: "Mark has done a terrific job. He's been a very steadying influence.
"He just gets on with his job well, there are no histrionics. It's very similar to the way Walter Smith used to get on with it when he was in charge. Pragmatic and strong.
"Can I see him returning to England? Eventually, but when you can have success at Rangers why would you want to go anywhere else?
"It's a great club and I think they will want to get him tied down. The best is yet to come.
"If they can get the right players signed up, which will be Mark's next step to make sure they are ready for the Premiership, then who knows how far they can go?
"They should now be looking to tie him down on a new contract so they can start thinking longer term. When did Rangers last have a five-year plan?
"They are now in a great position to go and do just that, so why not go ahead?"
Butcher was speaking at a William Hill media event ahead of the Hampden clash between his two former clubs.
Alan Stubbs succeeded Butcher after Hibernian's relegation in 2014 and the former Ipswich player believes he could lead the club to Scottish Cup glory.
"Alan came in and has had to learn very quickly," Butcher said.
"Last season was a big learning curve for him and his team and he's done well.
"He upsets people sometimes with his comments but that's probably a good sign. You are not there to be liked, you're there to be a winner.
"They have beaten five Premiership teams across the two cups, so they can handle the big games.
"Rangers have also shown they can do that and the competition between the two clubs has been fierce, so the cup final has the makings of a great game as both teams want to get the ball down and pass it."

There is a Hibs forum I recently posted an appeal on for the 13 year old boy who recently died the Rangers fans are going to be giving a standing round of applause in memory of in the 13th minute of the cup final. I posted there asking them to at least respect it and maybe even join in which there were no snarky remarks about and they seemed to be amiable to that.
But anyway, in just looking at that thread for fresh comments I noticed they are talking about the Barton story. Here's a post from their Barton thread.

Aside from the actual signings themselves I like the efficient manner of all this. The season isn't even over and we already have a large chunk of next seasons business done or in the process.

Whether he will actually be signing or not is still a matter of debate but it is a fact that they are in negotiations with him.

Well despite perhaps initially preferring them to have to be playing Kilmarnock next mid week the manner of that defeat is without doubt an extreme downer. And I'm glad Falkirk are going to get a crack at it because despite such limited resources they have hung in there all season. Real battlers and Kilmarnock have a game on their hands.

The result doesn't really mean anything and neither does the opposition as such. It's simply an exercise in trying to maintain some sort of match fitness given that we aren't lucky enough to be scrapping it out with Raith and Falkirk in the play offs.

Probably was a handball as such but not quite so obvious as they're all claiming it was. They made up their mind it was obvious after watching it repeatedly on replays. The Ref wasn't able to do that and in the split second it happened it can look like the Falkirk player just putting his hand down to get back up. Ball to hand not hand to ball.

I have posted about this on a hibs forum called hibs.net asking them if they can at a minimum respect the events on the 13th minute or maybe even join in so hopefully it's spread from there through other fan networks. If we had the sight of an entire stadium coming to it's feet and applauding on the 13th minute I presume the commentators may be aware of what is happening and make mention of it which given that this game may be seen in various places around the globe would be a respectable face of Scotland to show to the world.

THE search far and wide started some time ago for Mark Warburton but decisions will soon have to be made closer to home for the Rangers boss.
With two deals done, another couple close and at least a handful needed, it is going to be a busy few weeks at Murray Park as a squad is assembled for a shot at Premiership glory next season.
The futures of several players still have to be sorted out, though, and here SportTimes looks at those whose deals are due to come to an end after the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian later this month.
NICKY LAW
THE midfielder is the type of player that should fit into a Warburton squad but he faces an uncertain future as the Gers boss assesses his options for next term.
Law has scored just once in 26 appearances for the Light Blues this season and has struggled to break into the starting line-up as he has had to settle for a number of appearances from the bench.
After catching the eye at Motherwell, he has suffered the lows and experienced the highs during a rollercoaster Rangers career and he admitted in the aftermath of victory over Celtic that he would like to remain at Ibrox next season.
At 28, Law should be playing regular first team football and that is a prospect that appears unlikely with Rangers in the Premiership.
DEAN SHIELS
FOR the early stages of the campaign, it appeared to be between Shiels and Law who would take over in the middle of the park when Warburton made his customary changes around the hour mark.
It could well come down to a straight choice as to who, if either of them, is rewarded with a contract at the end of the campaign.
Like Law, Shiels has made most of his 42 appearances this term from the bench but he has often been mentioned by Warburton when he has spoken about the importance of the older, more experienced players in his first team squad.
With Matt Crooks and Josh Windass both signed up and a strong interest in Liverpool kid Jordan Rossiter, Warburton is obviously keen to bolster his midfield ranks this summer.
It would not be a surprise if Shiels was retained, but it wouldn’t be a shock if he headed for the Ibrox exit door, either.
DAVID TEMPLETON
THE Rangers career of Templeton will go down as a case of ‘what might have been’. So much was expected, but so little has been delivered.
He has never been able to recapture the form that marked him out as one of the finest young talents in the country at Hearts, although he has not been helped by a series of injuries.
The arrival of Warburton could have been the fresh start Templeton required, but he has made only three appearances this term and hasn’t been seen on a team sheet since August.
A goal in the League Cup win over Peterhead will go down as his only achievement of the campaign, and surely his last for Rangers as he enters the final weeks of his four-year deal.
NICKY CLARK
THE six goals Clark has scored for Rangers this term have all been important in their own way, but it would appear unlikely they will be enough to earn him a shot at the Premiership as part of Warburton’s squad.
He has shown his versatility by playing through the middle or wide in the Gers’ 4-3-3 formation and netted in the crucial win over Hibernian in December and in the final seconds against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup.
Warburton needs a quality addition to his attack to provide back-up to Martyn Waghorn next season and Clark will surely find himself out of the manager’s plans this summer.
DOMINIC BALL
OF all the loan deals Warburton has completed this term, Ball has been by far the most impressive and important for Rangers.
The Spurs kid looked solid at centre-back earlier in the campaign but then came into his own when he was moved into the holding midfield berth.
He will miss the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian after being booked in the semi-final win over Celtic and his absence, his physicality and defensive work, will be missed.
Both Ball and Warburton are open to the 20-year-old returning to Ibrox next season if he can’t force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
If a deal could be done, the England youth international could certainly play a part for the Gers in the top flight.
GEDION ZELALEM
THERE is no doubt that Zelalem has potential and he will have benefitted from his time with Rangers as he looks to return to Arsenal and make an impact this summer.
He has played well in games for Warburton’s side but has too often failed to influence matches like a player of his reputation should have and he hasn’t scored in 27 appearances for the Gers.
Zelalem kept his cool from the penalty spot to help the Light Blues into the Scottish Cup and he may well be handed a starting spot against Hibernian at Hampden.
It looks like he will once again head out on loan from the Emirates next season, but the Ibrox crowd are likely to be split on whether he would improve Rangers in the Premiership.
BILLY KING
AFTER a dream debut as he scored against Falkirk, it has been a low key loan spell at Ibrox for the Hearts winger.
King has shown glimpses of what he can do in Light Blue and played his part in helping Warburton’s side over the Championship winning line.
But, with no deal in place to sign him in the summer, it is likely to be at Tynecastle where the 21-year-old is lining up in the top flight next term.

And that is a balanced view of their season overall. Up until the final quarter when they started a bad run with a 3-0 beating from Morton we all thought they could still catch us and as for recent results take a look around this forum. You will see posts they would like infinitely more than anything I suggested to them. How many around here have you seen saying they will beat us in the cup?
You haven't seen me saying it here or to them. I intend to give them a reminder post about the Dylan Brown thing on Friday night.
