Rite I think I have got the gist of what's getting done, but in general will it look a lot cleaner if that makes sense, its just looking quite grubby at the moment on the outsides, will this help that appearance in general.

There’s some sand blasting and the the likes needing done too. Hopefully while the access is there  (it costs) it can get done

    Cheers for that mate.

Visually will it look different or much the same as is now?

You won’t notice a thing during this phase. The biggest transformation will be the underside but mostly the translucents at the sides of the Copland/broomloan

here are a few photos I took 6 months ago.

What does this actually mean mate? What is over cladding? Will it be a new roof (roove) on the stands or just a cosmetic thing?

Basically for an office monkey like me will we notice any difference?!

There’s a bracket system fixed onto the existing cladding and the new cladding is fixed onto that - no insulation ie a cold roof arrangement. There have been numerous small leaks around the 3 stands over the last 5 years. It’s obviously only going to get worse - it’s approaching 40 yrs old at the end of the day so it’s served well.

This will weatherproof the 3 stands for hopefully a similar 40yrs.

    To be fair

I asked the question to someone wbo works at Ibrox

We are working on the roof but fuck all money is being spent on our Ground

It's hand to mouth it seems

Essential  repairs or as little as they can spend

Id gut that bastard King if I'd have a free pass

Hand to mouth ??? this work is going to cost around 400-450k

its approx 15000m2 of over cladding. And that doesn’t include the underside, fascias and translucents which are part of the overall scope of works

  6. KT63 can’t defend either, and he’s a Jakey

Tav is vastly appreciated by the majority of the Rangers support. RM is not the litmus test to gauge the Rangers support eg the Board, McCoist etc

    strange that

It does feel like a fucking long nightmare 52 .

I'm tired of going past the pedodome while working and seeing that place preened with 20/30 council gardeners outside cutting the grass

And going past my beloved Ibrox stadium and the neglect , the rusting fences , the litter not being picked up

Ibrox is still the best stadium in the Country . We need investment on the pitch but we need to upgrade the Stadium and quickly

And the outside . ffs . That is the worst . Are we  being hamstrung by these cunts at the GCC . If we are . Wish the club would come out and tell us

Well eejay. I can tell you this

That tinpot stadium that gets preened as you say has serious (potentially very serious) underlying problems.

Firstly, their main stand roof is in very very poor condition and needs some serious work done on it. They keep threatening to do it but end up using sticking plasters.

Secondly, remember the panel that fell off last year? Well that was not just a case of a panel falling off. The reason for that incident is that the steel support behind it has widespread corrosion. There is a possibility thst the primary steel structure is also deteriorating. If that's the case then the remedial work could run into serious money - very serious!

Remember that's the house Fergus McCann built. It was value engineered to fuck. We will get our stadium up to speed. It will take another 4-5 years but we will get there. As for them? They better hope for some Dembele dollars soon.

Yep, said this a few months ago I’m here. Work will start in the spring

The soffits and underside cladding will get done in phases over the next 2/3/4 close seasons.

    Translucent GRP likewise

to all the anti board posters on here. Where are ye?

There is no scope of works attached to the warrant so there's no clue if that overclad included the replacement of the polycarbonate wall sheets

They are actually profiled  GRP panels that has yellowed over the years. they are getting replaced during the close season.

After seeing the news about the club hiring the new coaches and reading the interview with Craig Mulholland about the appointments, I can help but think he doesn't get the credit he deserves!

I could listen to him all day, he gets what it means to at Rangers and to play for Rangers, the way he speaks about giving youth players a chance and I think overall he has been a big success since he was appointed in 2015.

Although there have only been a handful of young players from our academy playing week in and week in recent years, the current crop look like they could be the best in a while, especially at younger levels.

His reputation in the football world seems to be growing and growing, so hopefully we can keep a hold of him, as I think the man is a credit to Rangers!

    Well said Craig ?

Sorry, but Joe Jordan was a vastly superior player to DJ. Played at the very top with Leeds United, Manchester United and AC Milan and played and scored in 3 world cups. During his spell at Manure, he was awesome. I had a mate playing for them at the time so saw a lot of Jordan's games for them and he was tremendous.

Spot on post - apart from the ‘manure’ patter moment

    manure?
