  1. Anybody fancy trying to pick one horse a day?

Had a look at todays racing Ready in the 2.55 catches the eye for obvious reasons. I also like Riddlestown in the 1.45 but worried it might have a bit too much weight

So the one I'm banking on today is YOURHOLIDAYISOVER  3.15 Southwell.

Backed it ew last twice, so already had a bit of money from it. Hoping it will go one better today but as I'm a shitebag I'm going each way again. Got 10-1 so even place would be acceptable.

Not optimistic or confident about the Dundee game. Beginning to feel the way I did when Ally was in charge.

Think it will be another draw.

Keep switching between optimistic and pessimistic

Hate 4 3 3, but our last home game result and performance were great.

Then we followed that with a poor display against Ross County but that was away and we're now at home. But of the 6 home games we've only won 3.

And so it goes on. For every up there's a down.

Still can't believe Bears are going on about 4-4-2! He won't change - his formation is 4-3-3, need to just deal with it.

Anyway for what it's worth I'd like to see us start like this:

    Foderingham

    Jimmy Tav

    Kiernan

    Hill

    Wallace

    Windass

    Crooks

    Halliday

    Forrester

    Miller

    Francis

So just Hill and Kiernan in central defence with two full backs who like to get forward ?

I've had a few beers and a curry tonight but I still think I've got more chance of a clean sheet than that back 4.

  4. Here's where I lose all/ any credibility.

    Fod

    Kiernan

    Hill

    Wilso

    Tav

    Halliday

    Windass

    Forrester

    Wallace

    Garner

    Waghorn

A bit harsh on Kenny but I think he could make more of an impact from the bench against tired players.

I'm never comfortable with Tav in defence and think LW is a better offensive player than a defensive one.

Hill didn't inspire me when he signed but he's done well recently and could help Kiernan get some confidence back.

So I say let the full backs be wing backs but have the three CBs as cover. And have 2 centre forwards playing forward in a central position with the wing backs providing width

Don't see an official thread as yet and I'm sick of reading about Scotland , missed the last couple of games through work so really looking forward to this , will take any win and the three points obviously but looking for a big reaction after that shite at Ross County , mon the teddy bears .

Missed that game mate. What was the score?

To me that would show whether or not they can cut it in the first team. You don't want players that hide or play safe passes as soon as the going gets tough.

Firstly I am not suggesting that players hide as soon as the going gets tough. But if your getting beat week after week, then eventually if will get to you.

If a player can flourish in such an environment, then we will have found a gem. But as I see it we cannot sacrifice the bulk of our young players in an effort to find one gem.

Bring back some of the loan players and let our youngsters learn to be winners, rather than learning to be comfortable with defeat

I'm not fussed at all about how the U20's team are doing. Our only concern should be whether or not we can get a couple of players to eventually make the step up to the first team, not how the squad as a whole is performing. We need those rare bits of real quality to come through rather than a good(ish) squad.

The problem is if young quality players are in a team that's getting gubbed every week they'll start to hide. Strikers will look for the pass instead of taking the shot. Midfielders will take the back pass or sideways pass rather than try the defence splitting pass. And defender will be looking for the Andrex every time there's a corner.

I'm not sure how our "old young" players are doing on loan but I'd be looking at getting a few back

In my humble opinion there are a lot of people who need a reality check. We are not in a position financially to compete yet. We have struggled through the divisions to get back here but it will be a few years before we are really happy with the team and the management.

How people can turn their opinions round so quickly amazes me. The man who got us through the final hurdle and was considered a god is now not good enough for the job.

Please people, just relax and support the team. I'm old enough to have seen many a poor Rangers team struggling to compete. We will get back to our best eventually but it's not now and there's no point turning on the manager.

I've been drinking so this might not be a good idea, but here goes

We didn't struggle through the divisions. We romped the first two and should have came through the championship at the first attempt.

I applaud MW for getting us back to the top league, but he only did what he was expected to do and what should have been done a season earlier.

I am disappointed that the Barton situation wasn't handled better, but all Barton had to do was apologise, so I support MW 100% in that respect. However where I struggle to support him is in his intransigence in sticking with a formation/style of football that just isn't working.

Perhaps MW wasn't happy with the funds made available to him in the Summer, well I wasn't happy that I didn't always get what I wanted for Christmas. But I certainly made the best of what I did get. However I'm not convinced that MW is making the best of what he currently has.

He's been unlucky that two of our most promising signings will play no further part in this campaign, but he still has resources better than any other team in Scotland bar one.

Whilst I hoped we could win the league this year, I didn't really think it was on. But I thought we could give them a bit of a challenge. However apart from getting thumped by them we have dropped 13 points to other (lesser?) teams.

There are 27 points up for grabs before we can strengthen the team. If we continue to drop points at the current rate then 15 of those 27 points will be lost.

We can moan about lack of investment, we can say we need a reality check, but the only person who can get us those 27 points is MW and he's not going to do it with his 4 fucking 3 fucking 3 formation.

He always said at first it only mattered what Rangers did, but surely someone must go to other games even if he does not.

A great attitude to portray, but unless you're managing Barca then it's an attitude that won't serve you well in reality.

Hopefully he realises this statement is purely mind games and if he's not going to watch the opposition I hope as you say he's having them watched and is studying any TV coverage at the very least

Root and branch philosophy change in our approach to how we play football. Right through the centre of our football structure.

That is what we were promised, and at the time we all thought "thank fuck" .

seems to be showing some cracks now....

    Untitled.png

Sorry if I'm being thick but I don't understand what the table is?

  11. As I see it MW knew what he was getting and tried to cut Barton some slack.

However he appears to have underestimated what a grade A c*nt he was dealing with and the more Barton got away with the more he tried to get away with.

By the time MW put his foot down the relationship had broken down beyond repair.

As for who I think is most to blame. Well MW is still here Barton isn't.

  12. After the St Johstone game there was a lot of negativety. What happened next ? We pumped Killie. After that we were all positive, what happened next ,we were shite at Ross County

So on the basis of that I'd say moaning is good. By the time we play next we'll have had two weeks of moaning. Dundee are going to get fucking slaughtered:D

  13. I wonder if there's some malicious obedience going on. He's may be told DK in the Summer that he needs certain players, but DK has told him those players are out of our reach at present and he just has to make the best of what we can afford.

But instead of trying to adapt he's just sticking to his preferred formation despite the fact that he knows he hasn't got the players to make it work.

Every point we drop is a massage to DK saying "look I told you we need x y z"

Not saying this is the case, but it might be and would explain why he's sticking to a system that is obviously not working.

  14. We have weaknesses all over the place. But for me the most important thing is somebody who can sit behind the strikers and make that killer defence splitting pass.

Our strikers have struggled, but if we had somebody who could lay it on a plate for them they might do better.

I thought Niko would do that for us, and before he injured it was looking like he could.

We've dropped 10 points to draws. One killer pass in each of those 5 games could have made a difference.

Don't know much/anything about Poyet, but if he can play that role he might be worth a try.

  15. Even if Brentford fans or other fans had warned us, would we have listened.

We did well in the Championship last season and got to the Cup Final.

Whilst the semi final win seemed to usher in a period of poor performances we'd achieved the goal of promotion and made some interesting additions to the side.

If somebody tried to tell me in August that we'd struggle to finish 2nd I would have laughed at them

However here we are. Long way to go yet and I still think we'll be a comfortable 2nd. But I do worry that MW is a "one plan Dan"

Hopefully the break will give him a chance to reflect. If we hadn't lost NK to injury it might have been different. But we did and we now need a formation that gets the best out of the players that we do have.

I refuse to believe that our performance against Ross County is the best those players have to offer
