Don't know why these threads crop up in June when the window closes September so much can change
I'm betting it doesn't though.

Grow up and stop acting like a taig ya muppet.
Run along little boy, you're late for Mass and the Priest is looking for you.

Actually...
Nah, but I do have two business' to run, often work 7 days a week and I'm in Western Australia these days so the time difference causes problems. Usually get about five minutes a week to get on here.

So it’s the system that’s working then.
What if Mo wasn’t suspended and we hadn’t been forced to change how we play to get Defoe into the game, would we still be hitting a purple patch?? We have played teams that haven’t sat in deep, we always look good against that style of opposition.
As I said until we play against a tight organised defence I will hold judgement. To say we have looked better because we can’t play our best player so the rest have to up their game is just mental.
I wasn't aware Maurice Johnston was still playing for us?...

Perhaps you do.
But come back on all guns blazing. Need to calm down a notch.
Really? After being called a Taig?

So Morelos scoring against every team he has played against, except one, proves your point how?
He can only score against who he is playing against, and he does that the vast majority of the time.
That's true, but regardless interested parties will look at the quality of the teams he's played against and that will impact their offer.
We can tell ourselves that Aberdeen, Hearts, Killie etc are quality opponents, and maybe they are on a good day, but compared to other leagues the quality of opponent just isn't there. He can score as often as he likes against Auchenshuggle Wednesday, but it isn't going to impress that many people is it?
He can be a good player, but I don't think the case has been made to call him a great player. And the red cards don't help either.

How much do we think his disciplinary record will or could affect his selling price?

He's scored against every team in the league apart from celtic this season.
Add in to that Osijek, Maribor and Vienna.
Eh, I think you just proved my point.

Against what quality of sides? He needs to go.

Yeah, glad you said what I was thinking. His activities with importing those dogs is shady as fuck. Less than impressed by that. 😡

Gerrards had time.
7 of the 11 starters today are his signings, would've been 8 with McGregor
He's been given a small fortune and we're 3 points better off than last season
He can't be trusted with another window, especially 1 where we're likely going to get a hefty sum of money for Morelos
Hmmm, I'd give him next season, but I'd want to see us come out all guns blazing. If the first three games are shaky it's out the door. I rather think the board will be thinking hard about their future managerial options should things not work out. Or at least they should be.

A younger Defoe would score bucketloads in this league irrespective of how we played because he had the pace to make space for himself and find a shot.
It looks like he's done.
He will still pop up with a finish like at Aberdeen now and again because striking a ball well will never leave him, but he's struggling like fuck to find any space and that's not because of how we're playing.
Legs gone?

I think he sees quality in training not transfer into matchday. And then the leadership qualities that probably came naturally to him and he saw throughout Liverpool sadly lacking in his players.
If I'm right, he's right to feel that way. But it's his job to sort it, and he's not going to get much more goodwill from the fans unless we see it well addressed in the next transfer window.
Yep. I think that's exactly right. Probably incredibly frustrating.

One idea he doesnt have is how to break down teams that sit in
Indeed. Agreed. And the problem is they all know it too. 10 in front of goal make it a fortress and he's got no answers.

SG sounds like he's out of ideas. His body language in the post match interview was revealing. Something is wrong in that dressing room.

Wrong
In reality we need the Gaffer to stop fucking about
He “rested” players today that would have secured a win and in a game that would put the pressure on Sheltic knowing they might drop points tomorrow
he was naive yet again
Correct on all points, but this is St Johnstone we're talking about. The reality is there's probably a load of pub teams that could thrash that lot. We're couldn't, and that us a massive problem. Week in, week out, we see more and more of this and SG is beginning to sound pretty lost. He's beginning to sound like he's out of ideas.

Watched the highlights online and the atmosphere seemed really flat...

Your first two lines were exactly the reason he should never have got the job.
And lacking experience isn't true either, he has all his tickets, he's been at the top of the game for years as a player, he's been in charge of a team at Liverpool, albeit youngsters. The guy knows the score full well. He made some personnel blunders that have come back to haunt him which he might be able to recover from this coming window. The fact is the team is exactly what we see week in week out: a decent goalkeeper, a talented but temperamental striker, and the rest - mostly semi-talented journeymen who are really only there for the wage.
I'll grant that there has been progress but SG needs to pick up the pace in that department and quick. Reputations have a habit of eroding fast in football management.
