Load of shite should have been Bates and Wilson till the end of the season they were by far our best defensive pairing. I’m not a fan of Martin.

Martin has been steady since his arrival and, like SDOW, his ability to read and anticipate usually makes up for his lack of pace. And Bates will learn a lot more as a  young CB from him than he ever would from Wilson. As will Aidan Wilson when he comes back.

When Wilson was on his game, he looked great but he often went for a wee nap in the middle of games. As we get stronger and spend more and more time attacking, those wee naps could have been costly.

And if our (Allen’s) handling of this is indicative of a new, firmer approach to giving out contracts, then it’s about bloody time.

  2. McDonald, Russell and McLean. The season we humbled the mighty Juventus, these three played 170 games between them. Russell, having just joined from Shettleston at 18 years of age, was the missing piece of the jigsaw. The connection between the other two was almost telepathic. Lost count of the number of goals we scored when Doddie ran beyond the forwards or at a quick free kick and he knew Wee Tam would find him. Then some guy called Cooper came along.....

Remember that well, through the turnstile, big grass slope, turn left then up the stairway. As a boy you couldn’t wait to get to the top of the stairs and see the pitch and crowd.

...especially the night games. Trudge up the drab grey stairs and then, at the top, a feast of colours and light. Magical?

  4. Didn't need a genius to see that Holt and Goss would struggle with McGinn, McGeoch and Allan. Murphy and Candieas worked hard but that central area we were second best. Tactics that worked in Fraserburgh needed to be changed for a step up in class and a group of players very keen to beat us. Windlass has to be sacrificed - it is that simple. Until we get McCrorie, Jack and Dorrans back, we need a 4-5-1.

Goss, Holt and Docherty central with Candieas and Murphy wider. Either that or play Murphy in front of the midfield with Cummings and Morelos up top and keep Candieas as a sub.

  5. Goss was off form yesterday. And whether we like these people or not, a highly motivated three of McGinn, Allan and McGeogh is better than Holt and Goss with two wide players on the fringe. TLB knew that if he won the battle in the middle, he’d win the game. We need to adapt to the opposition and we should have had Docherty in beside Goss and Holt (and sacrificed Candieas or Murphy) until we’d won that battle. Important to also remember that three first picks are currently missing out of our midfield but that doesn’t excuse Murty not reading the game. His approach to Hibs was the same as it was to Fraserburgh. Big mistake.

  6. To put his performance in context, how many Killie players, apart from Mulumbu, would get in our team? They started the season as a joke retirement home for ex-bluenoses and are now fucking hard to beat. Imagine what he could do with our squad? I wanted him when Warburton got punted and I hoped again when Pedro got fired too. He is the best candidate by the length of Paisley Road West

He didn't play in that one. Barton, Halliday and Niko started in the middle in that game.

Rossiter hasn't played in an Old Firm game.

How frightening does that midfield sound? I actually shuddered reading that:confused:

Greig, Provan, X, Murdoch, Baxter, McKinnon

X (possibly McCreadie?), Bremner, Johnston, Hughes, Henderson, Gilzean

Big guy at the back middle (the keeper?) has me beat

Mass refusal of Rangers Fans to pay for this cancer of an organisation would concentrate the minds of MPs MSPs etc.

    Agreed.

But we’re not the best at organising a silent, peaceful demonstration on a scale that would prompt action. We need a figurehead to rally round, to be our coherent, rational voice when those less close to this outrage ask: “what’s this all about?”

Murdo Fraser? Not easy to forget. Only a supporter when he's looking for votes though.

There is a large proportion of the Scottish population who pay their license fee yet, through no fault of their own, they are denied access to coverage of their team due to institutional bias at our national broadcaster. This is a scandal which no politician has the balls to tackle.

  11. All joking aside, this impasse should have been resolved long ago. How many times have the bigots at Pacific Quay spoken to players and managers as part of the build up to a game (and then again afterwards) followed by "due to the ongoing situation, we are unable to bring you anyone from Rangers"

Then Richard Fucking Gordon tells you what they've overheard our manager or players talking to Sky, BT etc. Should be copyright like the written word - if you've banned yourselves from talking to us or you are unwilling to treat us fairly, then you may not quote any content, comments, interviews that we give to other, less petty broadcasters.

Disappointed that there is not one Bear MSP in Holyrood willing to act on behalf of a huge percentage of Scottish football's public (i.e. revenue) who are getting robbed

We certainly have nothing to apologise for or back down over and a resurgent Rangers wont need Pacific Quay CSC as much as they'll need us.

Resolve it by all means but no fucking surrender
