  1. I dont have huge confidence tbh but aye hopefully a new manager will make him kick on. He might be more disciplined in his position given the Dutch are onboard so we might not see this wandering deep as much, who knows...
  2. Pace either side of him (Kent and Sakala or Wright) and try and get him to find his old selfish nasty streak. He couldnt really complain if he got dropped tbh but its a chance for him to find his old self.
  3. Hope we go with width and pace tonight. Kent and Sakala/Wright in front 3
  4. It felt like a collective group of people trying to manage and pick the team (and probably subs), I would have preferred just giving one person the role of interim manager.
  5. Might be an overreaction from yesterday given I'm still pissed off but he is now actually starting to annoy me. Too many buzzwords and soundbites, more MBA than proper football man. We've got a bloated squad and hardly get decent money or offers for any of our players (even the dross) which was meant to be his priority I thought, and I've yet to see the fruits of his supposed top drawer contacts for top quality players. We would also have got Gio without him. Staff wise, just what is Defoe actually doing for his wages? Why did we end up with sub-standard 'we picked the team' management from backroom B staff instead of strong single leadership for such an important game? He's another than needs to do more for me, instead of rolling out constant soundbites.
  6. Social media can fuck off as well. Absolute screwballs on there, an unregulated platform full of personal and direct abuse. Don't know why players engage so much on there. Better off without it and focusing on the park, for their own benefit.
  7. Unforgivable at any time at Rangers, never mind the fact domestic cups should have been a priority of ours given the last few years.
  8. Adopting the Marvin Andrews philosophy on this mate because by fuck we need him.
  9. Can you imagine Gough, Goram and Walter Smith listening to that. He'd be getting punches thrown at him. Get to fuck.
  10. To be fair mate, great goalkeepers have won us leagues. And our great goalkeeper is coming to an end. its not a crazy suggestion. Not saying its the only, or biggest problem, but we need to replace key positions with quality.
  11. After those subs not sure I'd trust them with my FM save never mind Rangers.
  12. Nah mate, we are bad the now but they were hoachin beyond belief, arent that good, and we can get this back on track with bold decisions and good management. Over to you, Gio.
  13. agree with the points which is why I think we should be building a new core for starting 11 and I don't see it, but hope Gio does Edit: I dont think tav doesnt care, I just think his form/mentality is likely in decline now and think we ahve a decision to make there.
  14. A fit Ryan Jack is the closest thing we have to a proper leader on the park. Tav has led by example because his performances have been so high in the past, but in truth I think we know he's not really that type of player.
  15. A leader would have smelled the danger of 'lost hunger' all week and demanded a good start today. I suspect however, we coasted it all week thinking we would win and are only surfacing this now after the fact.
  16. The only positive I'm taking from this game is the fact I dont have to go home to Leith and sell a fridge and the weans toys to survive the next week. But fuck me, that was brutal.
  17. So difficult to argue with this when you see how they started this game. They should be desperate for trophies for their own legacy and come flying out the blocks.
  18. Tav could be on a decline tho, and we have someone with immense talent on the way up with all the hunger in the world. We need to make big decisions for our future, I haven't seen it so far but hope Gio comes in and acts bold when needed.
  19. That could still happen persisting with players who have lost desire and are past their peak. I hope he can quickly work out what the starting 11 needs in terms of hunger, talent and attitude with the squad we have available.
  20. I'm not saying he is completely done, but he is showing signs of fading and I'm not sure we've been brave or bold enough to do anything about it. I get the sense we just continually hope our previous best players will turn up for us. And this is not just based on todays selection.
  21. Have played their best football for us already (some examples below): McGregor Tav Goldson Borna Davis Morelos We can either accept this after today and use this as a springboard to inject some new energy and talent into the team, or persist with players on past reputation and watch us continue to underachieve. I hope Gio is bold enough to make some big decisions. Ferguson was the master at this with Man Utd, sensing when players had peaked and needed moved on, and when other players had to come through. This group stopped the ten, but we need a new direction to kick on. I'm excluding Ryan Jack from this as he could be like a new player, but generally this core group has come to the end of its cycle.
  22. Wish I had seen Baxter play. Any modernish players that are similar as a reference for us unlucky enough to have missed him?
  23. Bit or an aside here. He's my favourite ever player but I'm sure he did have games in Europe when he never got a sniff. Some of our performances in Europe in the 90s given the team we had was baffling. I put it down probably to lack of elite fitness against teams like Juve, lack of sharpness when the qualifiers came around early and maybe a little bit of tactical naivety at times against top teams, which i think led to Sir Walters pragmatism second time round. Like all of the greats, he learned.
  24. Laudrup overall for performances, but I think in terms of pure talent, Gascoigne. If he had looked after his body and screwed the nut he might have been the greatest player England ever produced. He could have been ballon d'or level. Honourable mention for consistency and level of performances to McCoist, Goram and Barry Ferguson.
