Belief by the bottle load allows Neil Lennon to claim moral victory

Lennon reacts with joy to spot-kick award, but it was short-lived

As far as Neil Lennon was concerned, it was confirmation of what he already knew.

Allan McGregor’s award as man-of-the-match in the seventh and final Old Firm game of the season was corroboration for the Celtic manager’s contention that his side had been the moral victors, despite the 0-0 scoreline.

They were the ones who should have been happy to settle for a draw, but were the team who made all the positive moves towards the end of the game in pursuit of victory.

There was no chest thumping or triumphalism as he reflected on what is expected to be a pivotal day in the season, but Lennon made sure his point got across.

“A lot of people were asking questions about our bottle,” he said. “This word bottle comes out all of the time. There’s no such thing – you either have it in you, or you don’t.

“And I think these players have it. They believe in themselves, and I thought we were the stronger team and deserved to win the game at Ibrox.”

Cully's a tim arsepiece of the highest order.

Hurt him in one way and one way only - don't read the shite, don't buy the paper and make sure he knows why.
