android apps + invasion of privacy

i got a new phone and i was looking through the apps that are available for download.

i was shocked when i looked into the required permissions for install and download.

Why on earth does a game need access to my texts messages, photo's and phone number??

does anyone know what a good app for privacy is? because i won't be installing very much if they are all wanting access to my private data.

Fery few apps other than SMS ones for example will access you're messages. Social network ones will want access to you're location and other data.

It's basically because androids open source meaining anyone can develop apps. Its just a disclaimer of sorts. Not a great explination but the words won't come to me to explain it, i'll have another go later
