Bolton Wanderers offer fans beer in bid to

The first 1,000 supporters to arrive will be invited into the club's pre-match fanzone for a complementary drink and cut price food.

From there on beer and cider will be subsidised at £1.75 until kick-off.

Following their relegation battle last season, Bolton have been taking out a number of measures to increase on the 11 per cent drop in crowd numbers. So far this campaign, their home match figures have shown little in the way of rising.

Club manager, Gary Megson said: "We’re making a big effort to promote club-supporter relationships and not just due to the credit crunch.

"The atmosphere for our last home game against Arsenal was incredible, and hopefully that sets a standard."

Tickets for seats behind both goals can be picked up for between £5-15, and young fans can now buy season tickets for £49.

A newly dubbed 'singing end' is also growing in popularity, with fans encouraged to bring banners and flags to matches.

Bolton's fans' liaison officer, Tony Kelly has spoken of his pleasure in giving the fans what they had been asking for.

"A lot of fans have got in touch asking if the club would consider hosting a venue where they can go for a drink and something to eat before the match," he said.

"I'm delighted to say the club has taken on board our fans' comments.

"I really hope the fans get behind this and bring with them the fantastic atmosphere that we saw in our European games abroad, where they all gathered before the game to get in the match day mood."

Just highlights waht a shitty club they are.

Do you think for one minute that Rangers would need to offer inentives to fans to fill the stadium if we played in The Premiership?

Not really a fair comparison though DBBTB. There aren't many clubs in the world never mind the EPL who can call on as massive a support as the Rangers.

Shite club, shite fans!

Plenty of good lads go to watch the Wanderers Muff, most of my mates are Bolton fans and are really good, hardworking (mostly protestant lol) blokes. One of them came to watch Rangers in Barca with us and 3 more came to Porto. So difficult since Porto to try to convince the Gers fans that Bolton aren't Timmy sympathisers.

Anytime you're round these parts i'd be glad to take you for a few jars with them mate, i think you'd find they're good lads too ;)

Mon the Rovers :beer1:

:craphead:

You forgot to add Dingle Loyal. :harhar:

 You a Wanderer?

No mate am a Ranger but i have watched them for years as a kid and still go occasionally when i can - actually had tickets for tomorrow too (got them free from Social Services), but forgot to pick the f*ckers up!

Still going though - all my mates are ST holders. Think they'll get beat tbh.

Im skint or id get down to a game my mate can get me tickets,i've only ever been to one of their games a friendly V Motherwell

I'd rather spend my money on the Bears but Rovers are my english team.

If you're in the Bolton end it means i have authority to slag you if you get beat

I'd take Kevin Nolan though

You'd be better off taking Cahill, Elmander, Riga or Matt Taylor tbh. Nolan is not all he is cracked up to be.

He's more Charlie Adam than Pedro Mendes :)

As for the slagging off - i shall take it like a man ;)
