The SPFL and 2013/14 TV audiences

Recommended Posts

NAW! it can't have anything to do with "THE BIG BAD RANGERS".

Scottish Professional Football League box clever and double television audience THE exact numbers for last season are being kept under wraps for the moment, but are believed to be almost twice as high as the final campaign before the SPL merged with the SFL. Spotted this on the daily rhebel site.

Seen this in the gutter press earlier on and had a chuckle at some of the comments. Wasn't this the real reason they merged leagues? After kicking us out of the SPL, their viewing figures plummeted and their only way to save the TV revenue was to shoehorn us all into one league so they could market our games along with the no-marks of Scottish football. Basically Rangers Supporters saved the Scottish Football TV deal but they like to try and paint it as if there's now a huge increase in the SPFL - Bollocks

Hardly a shock the SPFL viewing figures would be bigger than the SPL the season before as Rangers games are now included in the total unlike the year before. If it's true that the figures have doubled that's down to people watching Rangers not pish like Ross co vs ICT.

This was my thoughts as well, the spfl and all of Scottish football knows this but will never admit it.
