Gazzetta dello Sport says Barca made their approach two weeks ago before they had chosen to intensify their negotiations for Arsenal ace Thierry Henry. Aware that Ibrahimovic was unhappy after Inter refused to meet demands to improve his existing contract, Barcelona made a formal approach to Inter about taking the big Swede to Spain this summer. But Inter president Massimo Moratti was quick to shut the door on the prospect of losing Ibrahimovic, despite the controversy courted over his public praise for Luciano Moggi and decision to turn out for Sweden in a Euro2008 qualifier while carrying a knock.
