If we'd been playing at their midden then the performance and scoreline would have been disappointing but acceptable. But playing at home like that? We looked lost at times. We still don't have the players to compete and our squad is paper thin - for a third choice defence they did OK.
It wasn't a humiliation, but it wasn't good enough either. We are still 3 or 4 first team players away from giving them a proper game.
-
They are finding space too easily, but at least they know they're in a game. We're getting some decent tackles in for a change.
-
If ever there was a game for Josh Windass to make us eat our words about him it is this one.

I'd rather Wallace was fit tbh. We need to see more of DJ defensively to know how good he is - although he looked decent going forward against Thistle.
I'm worried he might come undone against them, especially if he has Windass sitting in front of him - wee Josh tackles like a paper bag .
-
Going into extra time last night I thought we were fucked and Thistle would win it on penalties. The team proved me wrong. A different level of challenge coming at the weekend, but if we play with a bit of belief (and the players get stuck in without being sent off) we'll have a chance.
We might scrape a win, but we're still work in progress, so I reckon a hard-fought draw.

I don't think it's the mentality. I think teams then go chasing goals and we are just completely useless when chasing the ball or defending.
You might be right - we were pressing and chasing back in places - Candeias had a better defensive game than going forward tonight - but players like Windass don't have the stomach for a fight to win the ball back.

Good in parts.
Glad to see Hererra getting time and DJ looks good going forward.
Why is it when we get the first goal it changes how we play? It's like we think at 1-0 the game's won and we can manage the opposition. Our defence isn't good enough for that. We need to be breaking teams 3-0 before we think about easing up and defending the lead.

I hope DJ gets a run out tonight - be good to see what the boy's got to offer.

Thought this thread was about 3 U20's on the verge of breaking into the first team?
Don't be spoiling things by bringing football into it FFS!

But you signed up with that name so it was sore before you seen the level of debate, why lie?
Why deflect with pointless questions?

Why is your head sore?
It must be the scintillating level of debate we have on here

That's all good and well if someone's actually a Rangers supporter. I have my doubts as my small narrow mind can't comprehende why any Rangers fan would say the stuff he does.
and besides, you like the other couple on here why do you only take issue with the people who are annoyed at the shite he's written? why do people like you never have anything to say about the shitty offensive ramblings that guys like TheDude post first hand. I find it interesting. It's telling.
Oh here we go - cue the 'I'm more staunch than you' witchhunt.

I know these are hard concepts for some people but (1) writers don't have to believe everything they write (2) there are many legitimate shades of opinion on all sorts of topics from people who are most definitely decent Rangers supporters. Thank fuck the world is not as black and white as some like to pretend it is.
Some people on here must have great jobs if they've never had to do anything in their career that they didn't like or didn't agree with.

In the league I'm expecting a strong second place.
The next few games are crucial. We need to build confidence and instill fear in our opponents. In the past, teams came to Ibrox knowing they were beat before a ball was kicked and that if we got the first goal they were in for a hammering. We were so far ahead in quality that we initimidated the wee teams even when we were playing at their ground. We're still working to get back to that perception and our former status in the Scottish game.
That east end mhob have got the aura about them right now - they're NOT a great team but you can see other teams are scared of them.
The biggest thing we lost going down the divisions was the expectation that we could win games without breaking sweat. If we can start thumping opponents regularly and go on a sustained run where we win at a canter we'll start to get it back. Only when teams fear us will we be ready to challenge for the title.
IMO we need to accept it's build for this season and launch a proper challenge next.

Got to feel sorry for the folk that have defaulted to green letter avatars.... especially if their user name starts with C

Ibrahimovic on loan as a favour to pedro from his mate Jose

These are the barking dogs, and a couple of them are obviously ball-lickers.
Hopefully we have a decent season and get to see mutton having to eat his own vomity, hate-filled words.

Decent first half. Contained them and took our chances. Couple more goals and a run out for Pena would be ideal now.

I'm hoping for 2-0 Morelos and Alves, but I think it will be tight.
