A poster on FF stated that Barton wouldn't move to Glasgow as his bird does't want to relocate the family and she's not keen on him staying up here all week. I know the poster in question and his bird does know Bartons partner.

If he doesn't sign, it will be interesting to see if he mentions that 'it's for family reasons'.

Good time to ditch her then? (tu)

  2. Who the fuck would want to put down roots in fucking Burnley?!  ... Glasgow and us is a better choice any way you look at it...

But like many, I've mixed feelings on this one - he can give us experience and strength, but at what cost to the all-important team chemistry given his track record.

However I trust MW to make the right choice - he's obviously got a plan and most of his moves made to date have been smart and  aligned with his plan....

  3. So many mixed emotions about that day...biggest thing for me was we never set ourselves up to have a real go...:(..

I remember us coming out the stadium, looking at the helicopters then to our right and seeing hundreds of riot police dressed up like Robocop! Ended up sleeping in the car ...

The GMP should have been shot for their lack of preparation and planning given they'd been told what the score was... they just never listened and it could have been a lot worse... I remember one copper shitting himslelf as he watched hoards of fans hanging off lamposts etc... and me then telling him that he hadn'tt seen anything yet as the M6 was still rammed with supporters buses. :541:

Great Sash-Bash the night before though - I'd to have a cartilage op on my knee after stamping on it for hours...

The biggest mobilisation of supporters for a match ever....:ukflag:

Great signing for yous ... Friend of mine knows the lad personally great kid all round.  Really down to earth lad from a working class back ground yous are going to love him up in Glasgow, not to mention the derby haha believe me this kid will rattle Brown at given chance. Sure there was an interview with Gerrard and carragher recently and they also stayed the young lad gets stuck in and does not shy a tackle.

Thanks for the info mate... I'm really looking forward to seeing him play.

Good luck in the final! (tu)

Been following us since the 60's and beating them was the most emotional I've ever felt after watching a game live so much so I was almost blubbing, 4 years of misery after we were shat upon by every PL club and the mhanks especially.  So for me there is no question to answer the semi all day long.

    W.A.T.P.

There's lots of logic in saying Final & Europe but every last one of us agrees with BallochBear here - I reckon the real test will be how the level of euphoria compares with beating them after all the hurt... but then again when we lift that cup no-one's gonna take the semi-win away from us either..(tu)

  6. Aye well done ...but....

The best crimes are the ones no-one ever finds out about... so if you'd done this a few times everyone would have thought your were part of the Press Crew - they'd have started bringing you Moet at halftime , the works!

    Now you're fucked...

  7. I'm encouraged and happy right now, but am nervous at the thought of playing against the best without investing in quality. At the same time I look at Leicester and hope/pray that our lads can develop their quality in line with the confidence that more and more success brings. I know we need more strength and depth but want to see our young lads take this ride as far as they possibly can... amazing turnround...

I loved WS but one of my most frustrating moments was travelling to Manchester and then seeing how defensively we set ourselves up - we just never had a real go... Hemdani was pish in that match..

So looking forward to the Magical Mystery Tour with MW driving the bus!

Love the big guy.  Stuck with us at our lowest ebb when he could have easily jumped ship.  Integrity, honour, someone whose moral principles meant more to him than money and who clearly, and deeply, loves our club. LEGEND

'To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him."

Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers'.

    Completely agree!

  9. The reason we support this club we love is that we recognise it stands for unflinching integrity and enduring strength. Always READY!

These are the hidden values many special people created within us, often without us knowing it at the time,

Then we suddenly find they are no longer there, seemingly...

But on days like these we realise with a tear and a smile that they never really left us,

As they lie deep within us. ready to emerge when their strength is needed...

And we can then celebrate and toast their presence among us again,

For, even when the odds lie stacked against us,

    We remain blessed, because:

WE. ARE. THE. FUCKING. PEOPLE. AND. ALWAYS. WILL. BE!!!

  10. I am not unrealistic about tomorrow's match, but as the cliché says, the form book goes out the window for these matches.

However, football is a simple game, but one often influenced by a chance occurrence: a misplaced back pass, a dramatic red card, a killer through ball, a lucky deflection or the break of the ball can all produce a winner.

It only takes a fraction of a second to score a goal and that can change not only the complexion of a match, but the mindsets of both teams and both supports. Often, nerves can tell on less experienced fellows. But one goal can change so much. One team grows in confidence and the other one shrinks. That is very much the essence of the appeal of the sport.

This fixture's three year absence and its resumption will raise passions to a peak. Three years of claims and counter claims will clash, and history will resume. Insanity will return.

Normal football will make way, and that frenzied, adrenalin-fuelled feud will recommence.

When your heart is pumping, you either rise to it or fall.

Tomorrow is another chance for every player to prove a point. We are not without experience or talent. We've already beaten three top tier teams in a league that our opponents have struggled to build up a lead in. They are not Barcelona. Fuck, they're not even what they were when we last beat them.

It's very much a case of us having it all to play for. All the talking, all the boardroom machinations, all the problems, count not a jot.

Tomorrow is a chance write the next chapter of our way forward. For one day, nothing else matters.

For 90 minutes, footballers can be footballers, but also the shapers of history. This is what they live for. This is what they do.

Seize that chance, seize that moment and make it yours, lads!

    Aye Ready!

    Superb post!

I've just £40 quid on - never seen odds like it!

    Get intae them boys!

  11. Perhaps not but over the next 3 seasons the income from these STs will go to Ticketus - around 26.9m (24.4m +10% - Ticketus bought them at a discount). WE now have a shortfall of that amount in income. How do we cover that if CW has already spent the money (18m to Lloyds and the remainder elsewhere.)

Howzabout we reprice tickets to £5 for the next three seasons and at the same time politely ask supporters purchasing STs to make a 'generous and entirely optional donation' (which just happens to make up the difference to the regular ST price of course) into a new (protected!) Fan Ownership Fund?

... then tell Ticketus they can have as much of the ST money as they fancy?..

    ;)

  12. McGregor, Whittaker, Goian, Bocanegra, Wallace: Naismith, Edu, Davis, Wylde: Lafferty, Jelavic... 4:0 Rangers: Jelavic (2) Naismith & Wylde.

Not sure about the US lads given they have just done the transatlantic travel crap after getting humped by Ecuador... takes time to get the jet lag out the legs

(says he who'd just done the same route... knackered but can't sleep!..)

  13. not just away games being the problem... the glorious failure against Spain and the ref-fixed last 5 mins against the Czechs nailed us...

In the end I wouldn't be surprised if we lost it on goal difference.... we lose and Czechs draw against Lith. - then the fact that we missed so many chances tonight will take on a whole new meaning...

    :(

  14. Credit where credit's due guys... that performance tonight showed many hopeful signs..namely that a new, more fluid and football-orientated Scotland team is under construction. For me it isn't about tonight's result, it's about whether we are making the necessary improvements for tournaments to be held in the next 10 years, and I was happy that we are...

We have a new manager that's trying to work with limited resources to steadily change our style towards a more positive and creative style of play... sound familiar?

Sure we all don't think we've a real chance against the World Champions, but I remember all the negative statements before we humped the-then WC's France home and away too at 1000-1...

Sorry to be so positive, but I am Scottish! ..and British!..etc etc.
