If you had premier league money then you would be a top 4 club, I agree. But based on current squads and the tv money you get you can't attract the top,top players.

In your dreams mate. I'd place your squad on par with Birmingham City. In terms of fan base then of course you out do us by a lot but squad wise? You'd be lucky to win the championship and if Loovens is free at the end of the season I'm sure an EPL club would come in for him.

Hartson is a jack bastard (Swansea fan) so he did his best to try and discredit City there without coming off too biased.

Loovens is a fan favorite here, it would be major pressure on Ridsdale if he sells Loovens so I can't see it happening.

Dave Jones is confident he will sign a new contract if he can't find an EPL club.

My mistake, yes he is 24. I'm pretty sure I heard Wigan Athletic and some other premiership team ask about him joining, no fee was offered though.

BTW. I find a lot of what's been said in this topic utter rubbish. If you don't watch Loovens week in week out you wouldn't know how good he is, he is only 22 and he is one of the top defenders in the championship. He would EASILY make it in the premiership, I've seen great defenders here come and go .. (Gabbidon, Collins etc) and Loovens is the best of them all.

I'm a Cardiff fan and I doubt you'll get him but Loovens is a tremendous player, the typical dutch defender who is great with the ball at his feet, calm and actually plays the ball from the ball and not just hoofing it anywhere. If he didn't have 1 year left on his contract he could be well worth 5M, imo.

Cardiff City are part of the FAW therefore not part of the English FA. Celtic and Rangers would probably enter into the Premiership but only after the division is increased from 20 participants to lets say 24 after a long vote from all the English FA clubs. It would be in the best interest of top Premiership clubs to have them in the league to increase the TV money even further but not in the interest of Championship clubs or other clubs near the foot of the Football League with the possibility of getting relegated.
