  1. I don't know who should start up front.

I thought Beattie was very good today and with a couple more matches under his belt will only get better. Doesn't really deserve to be dropped.

On the other hand, we've just spent £4 million on a centre forward who's already played plenty of games and should have had plenty of time training with his team mates.

    I think I'd go;

    :mcgregor:

    :whittaker: :bougherra: :weir: :papac:

    :weiss: :davis: :mcculloch: :Naismith:

    :beattie: :miller:

  2. He doesn't seem to have a great footballing brain.

He has the attributes to be a good player. Pace, athleticism, strength and he can head a ball but its 4 or 5 touches on the ball before he can find a pass and in a league that goes 100mph he cannot do that.

He's been poor in the 2 games so far this season (as well as the newcastle game) and he really needs to sharpen up.

  3. Him and Miller could be deadly together. They look to be on a similar wavelength, both have pace to burn and a directness that no one else seems to have.

And, if Jelavic turns into the type of target man he looks like then, that trio could be fantastic.

  4. I dont think Woods is anything like finished.

He's going through a very very tough time off the course and no matter who you are its hard to remain focused.

This week is a write off and unless he does the spectacular next week, the season will be the same. He'll work hard over the off season and start to work his way back.

On a side note, Mickelson is a complete and utter bottle merchant. He's been second to Woods for a long long time and he's had the perfect opportunity in pretty much every tournament since the Masters to become number one and hasn't even come close.

Thats him not +3 for the tournament and +8 for the day, he'll be lucky to break 80.

  5. If any club offers £5m for Steve Davis then we would accept it straight away.

    I don't think we would.

If the rumours about us putting a £6m tag on McGregor's head are true, then there's no way Davis will go for any less than that.

Along with knocking back substantial bids for Bougherra.

Smith will have singled out who he see as his important players and I have seen nothing to suggest we'll just accept a pittance for them.

  6. Former Portsmouth goalkeeper David James is set to snub the advances of Champions League sides Celtic and Chelsea to move to Bristol City, according to the Scottish Sun.

James, 39, is available on a free transfer after the south coast outfit failed to offer him a fresh contract due to its dire financial situation. Celtic were believed to be keen on adding his experience to their set-up, while Chelsea were keen on bringing in top class cover for injured shot-stopper Petr Cech.

The pair are believed to be set to be beaten to the World Cup goalkeeper's signature after he began negotiations with the ambitious Championship outfit.

New manager Steve Coppell is understood to see him as a pivotal signing to see his charges win promotion to the Premier League and he could ink a 12-month deal.

Plenty of talk going on about this. Seen it on SSN so thought I'd have a look about.
