I'd go for something like that. 3 or maybe 4 good signings and we'd be pretty much sorted. As a bare minimum we need at least one quality CB and one quality winger who can play on either wing.

If it's not a tournament game I doubt an SPL postponement would be allowed, which makes me wonder if the rumours are true.

That was a remarkable return from him that season with 7 goals as well. The following season he was nowhere near as good though; 2 goals and 1 assist in 22 games.

Aye, you're spot on there. When you consider that Weiss, Whittaker and Wylde got 22 assists between them it says it all really, especially when Weiss only played in 23 games and Wylde only played in 15.

Yeah, just checked out your spreadsheet Steve and there's a good few issues there. At first glance the number of assists for Weiss, Whittaker, McCulloch and Lafferty are wrong.

I don't think those stats are correct mate. There appears to be a few mistakes on the assists, so that makes you wonder how reliable their stats are full stop. Nice one for doing that Steve, but where did you get your stats from? Weiss had 9 assists in 23 games, not 7 in 23.

Alex McLeish actually made a net profit in the transfer market during his time as our manager, but that was basically due to the fact that he inherited a goldmine of a team which Dick Advocaat spent over £60 million net on buying. McLeish managed to sell a good number of Dick's players for serious cash.

He had his chance with us twice and that was more than enough. By the time he left I wasn't sorry to see him go, just disappointed that we didn't manage to get more money for selling him and Adam. We sold the pair of them for less than what Fergie was worth alone. Anyway, it's a definite no thanks from me.

Aye, definitely. The lad did brilliantly. He played a big part in some other goals too without actually getting an assist as such.
