  1. The Book can be seen in the archives section in the Mitchell Library,, Ive had a look at it.
  2. I can offer a reply to Moonlighters query regarding the "invite". In a related thread on this forum several weeks ago I asked if The Fouders Committee would have a representative at William McBeaths dedication service. That admittedly isnt an invite, nor am I in a position to offer an invite. As far as I see there was no reply to that question. Ideally I think each Fans Forum or Group should have at least one representative there.
  3. Harry do you believe that Rangers History was unknown until The Gallant Pioneers,
  4. I retract that statement, stupid thing to say. People are free to do what they want in supporting Rangers, I mean no offence to those who have done and enjoyed the tour. I still recommend the DIY tour though. Assuming the DIY means an alternative? or?? Do it Yourself, though i accept that others dont want to do it themselves and wish to do it in an organised group of likeminded folk. Serious question, how many fans are in a position to give themselves a DIY tour? That is a seriously silly statement. No disrespect intended. It would depend on the depth of feeling you have for Rangers, going around Glasgow is not hard to do for someone living in Glasgow. My depth of feeling is such that i went beyond Glasgow, I was in a position that I could do that on my own. Without disrepect I dont see what your problem is with a DIY tour.

  7. I first heard about The Book bfore it went on sale when the daily retard done a story on it. It struck me right away especially the founder who died in the poorhouse, there was a time when I might have died in the poorhouse, by the grace of God I didnt. Anyway, I done a wee bit of searching online and found a thread on one of those geneolgy or ancestry forums, it was by Gary Ralston asking for help with William McBeath as he had got stuck or had hit a dead end. One of the posters came up with something and said I think this is your man, It was a different spelling of McBeath and different age, but the same wife and children. Ralston was very grateful. So a shout out to that man or woman, maybe without that William would still be missing.
  8. You have to go on the tour first. Well at least I got a thumbs up this time. Glad you got your plumbing sorted.
  9. I want to join the Founders Committee, how do I go about that. I can assure that I would be dedicated to it and dont say I have to go on the tour first. Edit spelling
  10. So you've pointed out a few times on here and on FF. No one puts a gun to their head to do it. I would hope not. Its just a personal thing, I wouldnt even pay for a stadium tour, like most Ive spent thousands on Rangers over the years, I would expect a free tour.
  11. So it's "ma baw and yer no gettin a game" time? Very mature. He's still upset we told him he's too old for the team [/foundersjoke] Ive grown up a bit since my last post. If The Founders Committee and RM want to hear my very incredible story then all they have to do is go to Williams dedication service. It is for all but the nature of it means it doesnt get posted on a public forum or even a PM.
  12. I love the comparison with Rangers history and a subway sandwich. Do you have a positive opinion on the Founders Committees absolute refusal to have anything to do with William McBeaths dedication service. I can only give negative opinion which is that it is a disgrace. It should be called the Some Founders Committee. BTW As I said to Moonlighter last year I have a good story to tell about Rangers FC that is not for public consumption. It is Vanguard Bears who will be given the story.Actually it isnt a good story it is an incredible story. I thought about contacting Gary Ralston about it but Im glad I held back. I only want to tell Vanguard Bears which will be done at Lincoln. Repeat-It is an incredible story about Rangers.
  13. What I find astonishing about this is that Rangers Supporters are paying money to other Rangers Supporters to tell them about Rangers history.
  14. My contribution to the founders left me with a loss, every penny I spent resulted in a loss. RM admin contacted me before I went to Lincoln to offer financial assistance, as I had already paid for everything I said it was allright. When I came back from Lincoln Mooonlighter contacted me. Moonlighter told me that he would keep me up to date with everything that was happening with William McBeaths grave, giving me the impression that they had the matter in hand and something was being done about it. The next I heard was from VB, when they announced thay had purchased a lease for the plot, I hadnt heard of VB at that point and was over the moon about it. I then contacted VB and they told me they would keep me up to date with William McBeath. Which they did. I will be going to Williams dedication service. I feel that the Founders Committees absolute refusal to have anything to do with the dedication service is a disgrace and a slap in the face to The Founders.
  15. You're funny It would be a magnificent gesture, something that could sweep away all acrimony. I cant speak for VB, but Im sure the folk there would be delighted to recieve such an invitation. What about it Founders Trail Organiser(s)? Tongue firmly in cheek at the "for free" comment.

  17. Its the last 8, at least.for me. Unbridled Optimism Loyal.
  18. Havent read the thread, I just saw the thread title. YES.
  19. The Founders Trail Organiser(s) could, in a gesture of goodwill, arrange a Vanguardbears day out on the Founders Trail, for free.
  20. Go forth mate. I hope I dont get into trouble for advertising the DIY founders trail. The map you posted was made by one of the guys on the Founders Committee so there's no reason to think you'd get into "trouble". I never used it personally, I posted it for others who may be interested in doing it themselves. I think diy is the best way to do a founders trail or a history hike, or a remembrance ramble.

  22. If its not too much work for you could you possibly post a guide for those who would like to do this? The guide I used was the GP book and Rangers The Complete History.Or this
  23. Will the Founders Trail organiser(s) be represented in Lincoln for William McBeaths memorial service? (organised by VANGUARDBEARS)
