  1. This bloke needs to dry his eyes. Ronaldinho did things to world class players that were filthy, no-one complained when he was doing it.
  2. We also need to remember that most of our players had never even met each other 2 weeks ago.
  3. Fucking hell our keeper is a dead ringer for Sergio Romero!
  4. Don't know if this has any relevance but I heard the capacity requirements for the Davis Cup semi's are different from previous rounds. Minimum capacity for the semis is 8,000 but the Emirates Arena only holds 7,000. Not sure if they could squash 1,000 extra seats in there? It's either that or find a different venue by the looks of it.
  5. I'd be amazed if it wasn't in Glasgow if I'm honest. The fact that as you say, September means rain and wind outdoors just further baffles me as to why we have very little clay courts in this country. It's winter here basically 9 months of the year, and clay is the only surface you can play on in rain without breaking your ankles, and the only maintenance the courts need is a fucking enormous brush.
  6. Only two issues I see is if: 1). Murray loses one of the singles. Doubles we should have them, but I don't see Ward beating Kyrgios or Kokkinakis or Groth. 2). Our strongest surface (grass) is also their strongest surface. It's a rare situation, but I'd actually say GB would tempted to put this match on clay if the UK had any half-decent clay courts (which for some reason we don't?), because I think clay hurts Groth, Hewitt and Kyrgios far more than it hurts Murray and Ward, Bedene is a decent clay-courter also.
  7. I see the winner of this plays Australia in the semis. Was hoping Kazakhstan would pull off the upset as GB would be good enough to beat Kazakhstan without Andy Murray. James Ward and Aljaz Bedene would be good enough to get the job done, but singles vs Australia will be tough, it's likely they'll drop Groth and Hewitt and play Kyrgios and Kokkinakis, GB should be good enough to beat them in doubles though, so it will be tight, but will likely need two wins from Andy in singles again. The good thing though, is that Australia are far better than a Del Potro-less Argentina, who are solid in doubles, but neither Diego Schwartzman or Leo Mayer would pose a threat to Andy Murray in singles. Same goes for Belgium, who have David Goffin and not much else, and if GB got past Australia, I'd make us favourites in the final against either one of those two.
  8. I think if you're French you have to put Gasquet against Murray, Simon is basically a lesser version of Murray, and has a horrendous h2h against him, 2-12 and only 1 win in 8 years, but that did come in Rotterdam this year.
  9. Andy needs to get this pumped up when he plays Djokovic. Just to piss Novak off if anything.
  10. This is why you name 5 players in the Davis Cup team Leon Smith, not 4. Because if Murray wouldn't have been able to carry on there, we'd be fucked, and Inglot or Jamie Murray would have had to play singles.
  11. Tom Watson is a legend and an absolute gentleman in every sense of the word
  12. I'd say calling fellow Rangers fans 'dickheads' is probably worse than praising Aberdeen. Then again I'm probably out of touch with normality
  13. The French have bought a football crowd with them by the looks of it. Not sure the posh fuckers at Queens know what's hit them. Still not sure why this tie is on grass, it's not like Gasquet/Mahut/Tsonga/Simon are bad grass players. Would have been better off having it indoors in Glasgow.
  14. Yeah I held off for a bit, and had a tenner on them in-play. They were getting hammered the first half-hour and that's when I had it on them
  15. With all the talk of how old Adriano was when his career went downhill I feel it's important to point out that Alexandre Pato is still only 25 years old.
  16. It's pretty obvious they don't get along. I remember Roddick said (back when he was playing) a lot of people in the locker room think Novak's a twat.
  17. I think Andy has the beating of Novak on grass, but the way Novak has upped his game this year it's hard to say. What I would say though is that I don't think Novak can hack it against a partisan crowd vs Murray at Wimbledon, it gets under his skin when the crowd are against him.
  18. Cut the crap. There's a difference between taking losing well, and pulling out a complete dick move like Novak did. Roger and Rafa have never called a medical timeout when they were 5-2 down in the final set of a Grand Slam final, and the last time I checked, they "made it".
  19. Not often at all, doesn't change the fact he's an unsportsmanlike knob when he's losing though . Like that time he had a medical timeout when he was 5-2 down in the 5th set of the US Open against Murray, with Murray about to serve for the championship. That's the sort of thing I'd expect from the lot across the city.
  20. Novak's a smug wanker, phenomenal tennis player but a complete cock when he's losing.
  21. I'd be fucking fuming if I was Murray, watching Fed play like this after playing like a God on Friday.
  22. Stan should've backhanded the taste out of her mouth when she called him a crybaby.
  23. Like others here I dislike it when every match between the big 4 gets labeled a classic, when, in fact, a lot of their matches have been quite crap. The best match at Wimbledon I've seen in terms of tennis quality in the last few years was Novak vs Del Potro in 2013.
  24. The bounce isn't helping either. When the ball hits those barren areas near the baseline it plays like a clay court. Need speed the grass up again imo. Not like mid 90's quick, (otherwise guys like Raonic and Karlovic would be unstoppable) but 5-10% faster would be about right imo.
