*****Official St Mirren vs Rangers match thread*****
steven33jackie replied to .Williamson.'s topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Lucky today, another poor start in a game that looked beyond us at times. Big save from Butland just before halftime kept us level. Cannot afford to start games with Silva in the team, he is like starting a man down. Play Lawrence out on the left or even Dowell but not Silva. Looked lethargic and out of sorts. St Mirren played well but we gave them so much encouragement in that first half -

No sign of a partnership between Lundstram and Diomande, both just aimlessly running around the middle of the park. -

Why not make that change at halftime. Was Clement just wanting another ten minutes to prove Silva is shite. -

Lundstram has been awful, so often his first motion is to play negative and go backwards. Diomande at one point tried a quick forward one two with him and he just passed back to Soutar. -

Cantwell needs to stay further up the park and stop dropping into the midfield, at one point he was taking the ball of the back four. So unorganized through the middle with players just roaming freely and having no influence on the game. -

Lucky to be going in all square. Terrible performance from to many empty shirts. -

God knows what we are doing in training all week as there's fuck all on that park to suggest it was anything of any note. -

It's been poor the entire game, defensively and attacking miles off where we need to be to be. So many negative passes sideways and backwards. -

Terrible defending, long floated ball to the back post. -

Silva is to predictable coming off the left. Every so often he has to go to the line, Gogic new that he was always going to cut inside and simply blocked him. -

Shades of Ross County about us today. Sloppy going forward and in defence. -
Cant go into the game with a center midfield of Lundstram and Lawrence. Hopefully Ridvan is fit enough to start and Sterling can move into the middle alongside Diomande if fit.

Welcome to Rangers, Philippe Clement!

Needs to be asked what the issue is with Raskin. I know he was dropped due to poor form. But I don't think his form was ever as poor as what we are seeing week after week from Lundstram, Lawrence and Dowell. -

I feel he is the guy that can take us forward, but he needs to be ruthless at the end of the season. A complete clear out is required. -

We all hoped to see some sort of reaction tonight and once again the manager and players let the support down. Questions need to be asked of the selection, why the fuck is Lundstram still being allowed to be the oppositions best player. Why is Lawrence playing as a central midfielder when Raskin is on the bench. Why is Silva starting game after game only to be one off the first taken off. Why is Goldson still playing at all, lost count of the amount of aimless long balls he played tonight. And Roofe wtf this guy couldn't even get on the bench a couple of weeks ago suddenly he comes in to start a must win game tonight and pretty much served up fuck all. -

Once again another long ball onto a channel for nobody. -

Silva, Cantwell, Lawrence and Roofe have been largely anonymous for most of the half. Ball is taking an age to go forward and when it does it's into the channels and no one is getting on to them. Lundstram for a while was Dundee's best player as he kept regaining possession for them. Midfield is not mobile enough to break the lines and support the attack. -

Line up feels just like Sundays starting 11. Very little natural width very little mobility in the midfield and the same old guard asked to go out and perform at a level they haven't been close to for weeks. Add to Roofe coming in from nowhere and you have a feeling that Clement is now quickly running out of solutions in how to get this team to perform. Six of the staring 11 are thirty or over. We need a massive clear out.
