  1. Great result tonight. Second half was more controlled than the first. Thought Silva was ok especially his work rate in deeper positions to win the ball back. Would be worthwhile seeing him and Dessers on together.
  2. Thought for an hour we looked ok but still wasteful in the final third with the usual lack of any real attacking instinct in the box. To many subs degraded the quality in the last 30 mins and it all became scrappy. Hopefully we take note about the threat from an in swinging corner.
  3. Would good to know the reason Clement was sent off. Surely it can't just be for pointing out the refs mistake in giving a foul against Wright.
  4. I am sure there's more to come from Fabio Silva but he looked like Sam Lammers today. Ran around without really having any influence and fell over a couple of times.
  5. Reality check when you realise the first 45 was as good as it was going to get.
  6. Twice this half Dowel has lost possession at the edge of the box.
  7. Don't expect anything of note to come out of this but fair play to the club for keeping it relevant. Also all this penalty to Rangers narrative pish needs to be called out. We have been at the wrong end of dodgy var calls in both old firms this season. Goals change games and Roofes goal would have changed the 1st game massively and a penalty just before halftime would be similar.
  8. McGregor comments about us along with Brendan's I've seen off five Rangers managers are evidence of a mentally that gives very little respect to us and they see games as three points and move on. This mentality is obviously hammered into any new players arriving at the club. Meanwhile back at Ibrox, my assumption of our mentality is one of respect and new players being cautioned of how difficult a game it can be. Yes from time to time, we will get one over them in a cup or a draw in the league and even the odd dead rubber victory. My hope is the Clement has now seen this with his own eyes and starts to work on the change of approach and type of playing attitude required to win against them on a regular basis. We aren't a poor team, poor teams don't play Betis in Spain and win when it matters, but for some reason when we line up against them everyone's legs seem to get a bit heavier and an extra touch is always required.
  9. His performance was so bad that if it was a training session you would stop and ask him to pay attention. Absolute empty shirt today, a player at a cross roads in their career. He has enough talent to be a real standout player in our league but his application his found wanting far to often. If he is getting found out up here where does he think his next move will be.
  10. When the offside scenario was put forward 20 minutes after the event the sky commentator remarks that they can hear the car audio and it would have been nice if they had told them. VAR would only look at offside if the penalty had been given. So by that conclusion, VAR must have thought it wasn't a penalty in the first instance. The eventual offside has become a get out of jail free card.
  11. He's a mediocre player who will have spells of good form and score a few goals. But ultimately he lacks any real quality and goals like the one against Betis are met more with disbelief than any feeling of expectation. If presented with the same opportunity for their second today, he probably falls over looking for a free kick.
  12. He has been poor before but today was a new level. Caught in possession almost every time he had the ball and allowed McGregor to boss him around. Not doubting his commitment but unfortunately I think his biggest issue is that he plays for himself and not the team.
  13. Our recent record against them at their ground is on par with other teams in the SPL. We constantly go their and allow them to dictate. Look at the sending off today it comes from a ball in midfield once again getting passed backwards and Balogun takes a heavy touch. We show them far to much respect. And today's post match from the manager will be the first time I disagree with just about everything he said. He's almost taken a snap shot of the game from the goal onwards and applied it to the entire game. Our performance for over an hour was embarrassing and lacked any real desire and quality.
  14. Dessers first half not being able to get a shot away when through one on one sums us up.
  15. Peddling out the narrative that the penalty wasn't given due to an offside during the build up. I don't believe that was the on field decision but it has become a get out of jail free card for VAR. Somebody must have been frantically looking for something during halftime especially when everyone was in agreement that the it was a penalty. Bernardo should definitely have received a second yellow. It was also annoying how many times Walsh blew the whistle at almost every challenge even when playing on was available.
  16. That performance was on the players today. Didn't compete until the game was effectively over. Can't imagine the message from the manager was any different and he talked about high energy and enthusiasm to effect the game in a positive manner. What he got from some players was apathy and fear. Fear to to take responsibility and help out your team mate. Especially Cantwell who is a player that more and more looks like it's all about him and I was surprised to see him last so long. Once again McGregor had the freedom of the park and it was Cantwells job to put pressure on him, once again he failed.
  17. Better with ten than eleven. Still a very weak performance from us and failed to really compete until the game was over. One team came to win a game and the other turned up to watch. We lack real quality in the final third that needs to be rectified or we will continue to surrender the title and champions league money season after season.
