  5. He went to the same school as me and a year below which was Knightswood until 2006 and he missed out on scottish cup final as he had left the year before to go full time with motherwell. He also was a season ticket holder as his whole family was too at Ibrox. Went to a few games with him in which one was against motherwell funnily enough about when we were 12/13.
  6. ARSENE WENGER began his Arsenal rebuilding job by snatching Gervinho from under Tottenham's noses. And the Ivory Coast striker, 24, has vowed to help the Gunners end their six-year trophy drought. Gervinho is on the verge of sealing an £11million move from Lille - as SunSport revealed on June 15. And he said: "I chose Arsenal because it's a young group within which I will be able to integrate easily. I could develop more over there. There's only a few details left to sort out. "A risk? Not at all. I'm going to Arsenal to play. The best risk to take is to look to score goals and to play a lot. "In football you have to take risks if you want to win. I'm going to Arsenal to win." Boss Wenger and the offer of Champions League football gave Arsenal the edge over Spurs for Gervinho. It has been a protracted move as Lille have tried to get Arsenal to meet their asking price. Wenger has already had a cheeky £7.2m bid thrown out but is set to clinch a deal with the French outfit. It could happen as early as Monday when Gervinho, who has agreed a four-year deal worth £60,000-a-week, returns from holiday. Talking to France Football, he added: "I had no hesitation. None. But in a transfer there's always a period of analysis and negotiations "All sides had to be satisfied so that things could develop smoothly. "I'm going there to play, not to be on the bench. Arsenal love the game. And I love teams that love the game. "The Premier League is a notch above. It's maybe the best league in the world. I want to live that sensation." Arsenal last night started talks with Southampton over ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. Wenger is certain to sign the 17-year-old midfielder for £12m but the main sticking point is how the transfer will be broken up with the Gunners likely to cough up an initial £6m. 7. Looks like could be Fabregas, Nasri & Clichy out in one week? Gervinho, Gary Cahill & Ricardo Alvarez in? seems to be sort of planned... Juan Mata, Samba, Jose Enrique could all be in probably before the window shuts aswell, will be interesting...
  8. Just talking amongst some friends and wondering if Cesc Fabregas does somehow stay at Arsenal which i doubt for 2 more years, would he be the youngest player ever to have a testimonial as he will be 26 years old? and been playing since 16 ofcourse! Or does anyone know of the youngest player to have one to date?
  9. good appointment in my opinion, hes made a major impact on porto and in europe! obviously his age and his past experience alot of people will go against, one year older than lampard he is lol.... he needs at least 3 years instead of this sacking the manager if dont win anything in a year! takes time to build his squad and not what others have left behind him!
  10. They say you probably hit ur peak around 26/27... Van Persie is now 27 & had the best goals per minute record in the Premier League, he scored in 9 consecutive away games which broke records & overall he scored 18 goals in 25 games in 6 which he came on as a sub... i dont know if its just me but that is some going? hes the most creative striker in the PL in my opinion aswell, any of the top 4 would take him!
  11. The formal offer was rejected by Tottenham Hotspur within two hours, but the Stamford Bridge side are expected to return with improved terms imminently. Abramovich is desperate to add more creativity to Chelsea’s midfield and reduce the average age of the club’s squad, leading the Russian and his coterie of advisers to identify the Croatian international as their priority transfer target. Chelsea’s owner is determined to press ahead with the signing despite the fact that he is yet to appoint a replacement for manager Carlo Ancelotti. Modric has confirmed in recent weeks that Spurs’ failure to retain their Champions League status came as a substantial blow to his ambitions and it is believed Harry Redknapp and Daniel Levy, White Hart Lane’s manager and chairman, now face a fierce battle to hold on to their prize asset. 12. I seen over the last few hours Man Utd step up there persuit for Samir Nasri & also in this time it appears Arsenal have made official contact with Lille over the transfer of Eden Hazard... would love 2 see Hazard in the premier league! do you think he will be a good replacement or do you even think both will go ahead? Sources Nasri http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_6976928,00.html Hazard http://news.arseblog.com/index.php/2011/06/exclusive-arsenal-make-contact-with-lille-for-hazard/
  13. I posted it in the transfer thread but they deleted it lol
  14. Just wondering if you think we could add any of these players into the team, all very talented but come with some doubts off the pitch! Kevin Nolan - refused new contract Joey Barton - wont be getting renewed contract Alan Smith - now a free agent, has been released Nile Ranger - told he can leave newcastle any thoughts?
  15. Just wondering if you think we should be looking to sign any of them? some big players & big talent we could probably get. Kevin Nolan - rejects new contract Joey Barton - not getting a renewed contract Alan Smith - can now leave on a free as hes not wanted Nile Ranger - told he can leave newastle Whats your thoughts?
  16. haha great interview? Robin van Persie has launched an astonishing attack on Chelsea, branding them whingers and said they should “shut the f*** up”. In an interview given to Dutch TV, the striker accused Arsenal's London rivals of continually “bitching” about referees. He also criticised the Barcelona players for baiting referees. “People who are watching the game on television and fans really do not want to see these kind of things. “If you want to witness a lot of complaints, you should just go the bakery or something. There’s always people nagging there as well. “Chelsea players are always bitching against the referees. I really cannot understand that. Just shut the f*** up and focus on playing football.” Van Persie was controversially sent off in Arsenal’s Champions League game at the Nou Camp in March and added: “They [barca players] always go up to referees in an attempt to get an opponent booked. “They are trying to screw colleagues! That really annoys me. "The Barcelona players nag about everything that happens on the pitch. I was disappointed with that.” Source - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/8554770/Arsenal-striker-Robin-van-Persie-advises-Chelsea-to-stop-whinging-during-interview-in-Holland.html

  18. Haha sorry mate just came onto the last page didnt think anyone else would have been upto date on the story aswell apologies!
  19. I seen they have basically got their first signing in a 23 year old Ricky Alvarez from Argentinian side Velez... Hes 23 from Argentina but has an italian passport also so no need for work permit either. Looks really decent from the videos a bit like a left footed Kaka! heres the video and source below http://football-talk.co.uk/23456/reports-arsenals-first-summer-signing-announced-soon/ http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/864023-ricardo-alvarez-becomes-first-arsenal-transfer-of-summer-window
  20. I done £5 on 4-0 at 16/1 ... but also Falcao hat trick was 25/1 so put £5ver on it so hopefully 3-0 and both us get some cash lol!
  21. Just read the match report and this was a bit from it But meeting this evening was a nightmare from the 25 th minute when Mavinga sent his foot violently in the face of Mehdi Carcela. J Worse For Mehdi, under the shock, had fallen into a coma, loss of memory, lost teeth, fractured jaw and had his nose broken His teammates were in tears. Flabbergasted. Aghast. Broken. Like us. As anyone who has seen these images of unprecedented violence.
  22. Great season for FC Porto this year... Undefeated in the Primiera Liga by winning 27 of their 30 games and drawing 3. Scoring 73 & conceding 16. They are in the final of the UEFA Europa League Final against Braga who i reckon they will destroy. Also in the final of the Portugese FA Cup which is called Taça de Portugal. So a pretty decent season i thought should be talked about. whats your thoughts on their season? Any team who goes undefeated in any league should be highly praised as it rarley happens!
  23. Fantastic for Scotland and in general to have another addition to the Premiership, Im pretty certain there all from Glasgow unless corrected? Either way good 2 have so many down there & have such an impact on so many teams & also to show English what they are lacking as Scotland dominates the managerial scene currently... whats your thoughts? 2011-2012 Scottish/Glaswegian Premiership Managers Alex Ferguson Kenny Dalglish Alex Mcleish David Moyes Owen Coyle Steve Kean PAUL LAMBERT
