  1. Rangers are being targetted as a member of Murray Holdings, which has massive debts. So the comparison to other clubs does not really hold as we are not dealing with a bank and a privately own football club. Pushing the likes of Dundee United for a £5m debt is not wise in this financial climate as they would certainly go into administration and that £5m would turn out to be £500k if 10 pence in the pound was accepted as a deal. It is far better to wait it out and demand payment when the country has some money. Rangers are earning a vast amount of money from Europe etc., so the bank must have felt confident they could claw back the debts from Rangers due to this, hence why they took us to task. We are suffering because of our stature in World Football and also because we are part of the MIH group who owe a damn fortune
  2. Bullshit? Can nobody particpate in a debate these days without ripping the piss? Recession hit Britain have had the Government trying desperately to get banks lending again, in order to improve the economy. It's not bullshit, it is FACT
  3. Banks are not lending and those who have lent big, want their money back, which is why we are in this situation
  4. I am a season ticket holder, as is my son but he plays football on Sundays in a 12pm kick-off and we have no chance of making the game. Not sure if any others will have Sunday activities that they cannot get out of
  5. Well, you would have to pay their wages, expenses, accomodation and travel costs. So send one to South America for six months and you have a bloody big bill.
  6. Yep, with that £6M we could have sent a number of scouts on jollies around the World to stay in posh hotels and point out players we could have afforded if we did not waste money on scouts.
  7. Or it might just be that the SPL did what they said they would do and make it possible to do in the future? We all laughed that off as a possible cop out but now we are back in a similar position and the SPL think they may be able to help. If they do, well done to them
  8. What is the point in having a scout when you can't afford to sign players? That's like paying for pet insurance but cannot afford a dog! Let the deal go through on the sale of the club and we might start to see a scouting system worthy of the Bears
  9. People who were involved the 'Smith Haters' thread will know that I rate this boy highly and my opinion only got better after that display. I see he might be taking flack for his positioning for the second goal but those who are doing that - take a minute to think why. 'Papac is going to clear the ball up the park, surely, so it is time to not sit deep and push out, oh wait a minute here, Papac has fucked up and gifted these arses an easy chance - oh bollox I can't get back quick enough.' Not his fault and Papac should be getting the pelters
  10. A legend in my book and one that will last with me until I die
  11. Why was that exactly? Fans kept bleating that he was taking up the place which Mendes and Davis should have, so nobody wanted him there. He also needed the freedom to dictate play but had Thomson trying to do the same role.
  12. Kayal is a damn good find for Celtic - one that will bring top dollar to Celtic when he moves on
  13. Tell me that McCulloch and Edu cost as much as those 3 plus Barry in terms of wages and I might get your point. Hemdani and Mendes were on very tidy sums, as I recall.
  14. I said before the game in a thread about Steven Davis that he needs to take the Bazza role but yet again he opted to run about like a fanny and misstime every second pass he made. When you play a 4-5-1, you need a conductor and that was Barry Ferguson and then Lee McCulloch - without thee two, we are fucked when playing a 4-5-1.
  15. Yep, Hearts and Celtic should be the only ones with a decent training ground eh? When Rangers had nothing, it was a disgrace and now we have a top class facility, we should not have it! FFS will people stop going on about Rangers as if everything is a waste of fecking money? Do you not remember that half the funding for Murray Park was from public business and nothing to do with Rangers? I understand the frustration that talent is not coming from it and that our set pieces etc., are not the best but the facilities were brought in by Murray and Advocaat and it is not their fault if the use of it is not being fruitfull.
  16. You are too clever to expect an answer from me on that one - nice try though
  17. I never said blame the players, I said the players deserve to share the blame - why is it so fecking hard to think that these players are as pish as you claim Walter is?
  18. 'Fuck up ya clown'? You are clearly a very educated man and I shall bow to your intelligence once I see it. Until then, you might want to go back to the pre-match threads where most of your fellow bears agreed with the starting line-up!
  19. This is an actual reason being given by a fellow bear. I agree that when we sit deep, it is because of Weir and this is a valid point to suggest Walter is hurting Rangers FC. That said, if we put bartley straight in, we may be caught as Weir does have guidance in there, where Bougherra would leave Bartley to work on his own at times.
  20. I accept this as an argument - BOTH are responsible, not just the management team.
  21. In the world of Football Manager 2011 mate, yes, but this is the world of 'we have no fecking money' and in that time, we cannot sign players just because you think we need them. If we cannot keep our two best goalscorers because each of them wanted £20k a week, how can we afford Kris Commons or any other Celtic target?
  22. Walter has done that for a long while and it was acceptable when we were winning. I am looking forward to times without our manager spending that long up there and feel our manager should be on the ground with the players but I am not going to turn against him because of his methods. What I am saying is that he gets ripped for setting his team up so defensive and when he sets his team up to sit forward, he gets beaten more convincingly and it is still his fault. If we sacked Walter tomorrow, who would we expect to take the job? I doubt Ally McCoist would take the role, or Durrant, so we would have no caretaker. We would have to look outwith the club and quickly, yet with no money from the bank, we would end up with some fanny from the conference league who thinks FM 2011 experience is all that is required.
  23. Because McCoist went through an Apprenticeship under a manager that you now feel is shit, he should not be given the chance to lead Rangers? Lennon was brought into Celtic and learnt his shite under a pathetic manager, yet when he was allowed to run it his way, he is doing well. Atleast give him a chance, ffs
  24. Please explain to me why the players on that park today are not the ones deserving the stick for that farse of a game? I read on here 15 minuted before kick-off that most fans on here would agree with the line-up, so it is not that. Weir was clearly holding the defensive line further up the park than normal, so we were not sitting back. You can blame Walter Smith all you like guys but these players are mince at the moment. McGregor: Feck knows what he was doing when he palmed the ball back into the box but thankfully it was not a goal. He should have saved the Commons goal but KC should not have had the shot in the first place. Weir: Showed his age today and could not cope with Hooper Bougherra: More interested in getting one over the refereee and the Celtic players than the result Papac: Far too bloody slow and I cannot wait until he goes Whittaker: Scared performance Diouff: Scared on the ball when Brown was present - Brown had him in his back pocket Naismith: Playing with an injury and useless Davis: A stint in the reserves might make this guy wake up and realise he is at rangers and not Berwick Rangers Edu: ........ Bartley: Picking up a booking early on was just stupid and he could not make his presense felt there on in Jelavic: Absolutely useless. I read a while ago that this guy played his heart out and I let that comment ride but this guy is a liability as a lone striker Walter Smith: Forced to make the sub on Naismith and took too long to get Diouff off - but should have went attacking at 2-0 down. All in all, the team were pish but it was a team we guessed would be on the park. No leader on the park and no leader available to Walter Smith.
