  1. I think Ally's the best figurehead we could ever hope for: he's inspirational to the support, he gets to his players, he's great behind a mic. But someone in that staff needs to understand how to properly fill out a teamsheet. There's nothing wrong with Ally filling that role; it's all SAF has done for the last decade. But for it to work the rest of the backroom staff needs to be addressed, from the scouting dept, youth coaching, senior coaching, all the way through. If McCoist and the new ownership is willing to address those concerns head-on and him settle into that kind of role it'd do us a world of good. @bluepeter: I can't disagree with that on the fourth title, but Walter carried us to that point on his back through the two SPLs prior.
  2. Walter couldn't even sign a player for what, two years? He didn't have to put up with what Ally's had since Christmas, but the man overcame a lot for 3IAR.
  3. God bless Ally but I said no, but with one caveat: they bring in someone with any kind of tactical nous. This coaching staff still doesn't seem like they've learned a lesson from the first four weeks of the season. How long did it take to figure out we're a far better and more composed side with Davis in the middle? And even then, how many times was he isolated on the right this season in favor of lesser players in the centre? Too many lineup issues, but someone as a sound consultant for that would solve the problem for me.
  4. Comp plan for the coke and chips they consume watching youtube videos.
  5. This guy doesn't sound too much different than some of our "highly regarded" bidders, lads: LA Weekly - Josh Macciello
  6. Finally get a game on proper TV and a storm comes through, takes out the dish...
  7. We need some NA Bears to get on with RforR, bulk of orders coming from abroad right now. Gotta show'em we can make a difference too, lads!
  8. Everyone who was part of the board that Lloyds was in charge of can claim that. That's not an accomplishment. I hear very little substance regarding the tax bill et al, a lot of names involved and backing, a group in bed with Whyte happy to hop on the train, and an insistence that this deal gets rammed through before whether he or King can actually be on the board is answered.
  9. I may be stepping out here from the herd, but what is the fascination with Murray and King's bid? Why the blinders on? These were men privy to every dirty detail that brought us to our knees. I dunno, I try to stay out of the way on these things because they tend to become flame wars, but for my money Kennedy's by far the safest bet of the three so far.
  10. I tweeted Stewy Roogan the very same yesterday. Surprisingly no response.
  11. I guess I can now say that we're the RSC behind Rags for Rangers, just in case someone hasn't yet seen the other thread. Pretty doubtful but eh. Also worth noting that for every sale of the GSMRSC shirt I'm ponying up an additional $0.50 for donations out of pocket. Not much but it's a bit more.
  12. Likewise. Transparent, understands that operating a sports club is not the same as operating a business, seems to give a toss if we come out of this returned to glory or just paying the bills.
  13. The problem is still the question of working capital and liquid assets available to the club directly, which is not something they do.
  14. But that is essentially how Craig Whyte has managed businesses in his career. If this is the worst of the bids then it's not so bad, but let's keep hoping.
  15. This is a lot more C.Whyte-like than we'd want right now, methinks.
  16. The McCasky family. Surely have nothing to do with this bid. The group that owns the Cubs is more aptly described as a "sports specialist" ownership group, but I'd have a hard time seeing them branching out this far.*** ***That is not Club9, so not relevant.
  17. Your avatar may be one of the seven wonders of the world.
  18. Can't remember the exact numbers involved, but Scottish and English refs are by a good distance the most underpaid refs among the major leagues in Europe. For the shit one has to deal with don't know how it's worth it unless you're picking up UEFA/FIFA assignments along the way.
  19. I'm sure most MLS fans knowledge of MLS is fairly low , but these Timbers Army folks are pretty solid people. I'm glad we're getting the opportunity to work together for some good causes.
  20. We'll add it to the list. Working on another one right now. Thanks for the support!
  21. Aye, managed by John Spencer and with a supporters' group with strong ties to Rangers. I'll quote the same email from the thread that got a little out of hand earlier, from a Timbers Army/107ist director: Colors aren't everything, especially if it can help both parties. *That said, I don't wear anything green under any circumstances.
