  1. Absolute wage thief. Sell him to medical science.
  2. In fairness you've set the bar pretty low there.
  3. Fan 'ownership' is a double edged sword. C1872 was pushing for 25%+1 vote so it could veto anything that is being voted on at general meetings. The issue is that it does not and in the near future will not have anything like what is needed to reach that % of shares in the company. Even if they did, it isn't inconceivable that in the future we reach a point where the company needs additional funding and the only way to do it is to issue new shares - if C1872 agree but don't have the cash to keep their % of shares, they would dilute their stake and could go under 25%+1. If they voted against, we could be in financial trouble. The infighting and division between different factions and people who align themselves to individuals/groups/pubs/forums or whatever is pathetic.

  5. While I'm neither anti-PLG or pro-Barry I think you might have a very good point here. As I see more and more viewpoints on this, I'm beginning to think this is very like the situation in the movie Crimson Tide at the end, when the military hearing is going on. They're both right, and they're both wrong. It's the worst situation possible for Rangers at the moment. Their fan's no1 player vs a new foreign misunderstood (on so many levels) manager. It's a no win situation for Rangers. The best thing for Rangers in the long run may be for them both to go. And Murray while we're at it. We're stagnant just now. What we need is a real revolution. Not someone to paper over the cracks like the last 2 efforts.
  6. Maloney now available to talk to clubs on a Bosman as I understand it. Would you take him at Gers? Personally I would. Anyone else?
  7. THE NERLINGERS!!!!! (private joke!)
  8. I'd give the following 5 in no particular order as men I think could do a job for Rangers. Craig Brown Guus Hiddink Sam Allardyce Ally McCoist Brian Laudrup We need to make sure that our next manager is 1) someone with a good knowledge of Scottish Football and how the game is played here. 2) able to make tactical decisions both before and during matches AND communicate that to the players 3) be a big enough draw to sign players 4) someone with a good footballing brain, and can handle the media 5) proud to be at Rangers. I think perhaps Hiddink wouldn't be a permanent fixture but his track record is excellent with 'weaker' sides. He always gets them playing. All that in mind, I think any talk of a new manager is a long, long, long way down the line.
  9. I think you're having a good old-fashioned NG-style attack of "The Nerlingers" here Danny!!! ... to say BF was world-class against Celtic is an almighty exaggaration. And if some other displays were as well, then why have we not read about them? Why have the sports shows not shown them, and why are we still misfiring? I'd also dispute your point about BF carrying us in the past 2 months. Other members of the team have chipped in a lot more than the first half of the season, and we showed a good return to form. Novo, for instance has earned his money. We are still inconsistent though and there are too many games (Inverness? Falkirk?) where Ferguson has been anonymous, nevermind inspirational. I know he can't do it on his own, but we have to look at the bigger picture. Is he a negative influence? Does he give out his own instructions that contradict the manager? If so then it has to be sorted out. If Fergie is not there PLG is putting his neck on the line and if we don't get 2nd (realistically I believe that is the highest we can aim for this time round as it stands) then he will really be in trouble. Whether or not Fergie gambles on staying for that to happen is a different matter. And to answer your last point about the money... Yes I do trust him. I am still under the spell of the blind support and ecstasy you were in from when PLG put pen to paper! Nah...seriously though I think he just needs the right players to come up. Bain must have had a good bung from the Vienna players' agent in the summer... I hope Sebo comes good. Perhaps with Prso out and Boyd's goal celebrations he will get his chance...
  10. I look forward to the day a Scotsman takes over the Bayern Munchin' job.
  11. If there was another manager, things would be very different. If this was a "Rangers man" who was in charge there would be a greater sympathy for the decision made by PLG. It is quite obvious that he has been pushed to the end of his tether by Ferguson, and has been left with no option other than to leave him out. I don't have a problem with that. If it improves things then great. Let's face it we haven't seen the Barry Ferguson of old much at all this season - once or twice maybe he has shown flashes of that genius, but that is not enough. Fergie is getting the sympathy of the Gers fans because PLG is not a 'Rangers Man' and that's the bottom line. There is a flip side and we have to be wise enough to see it. My 2 Francs worth.
  12. He is a bit of a rough diamond at the moment. He reminds me a lot of Klos except he is not quite at that top level with positioning, crosses, command of area, but he CAN kick!!
  13. That might not be a bad assessment of the situation. While I might not endear myself to the RMF troops with my first post criticising Ferguson, I don't think he contributes anything like what he did in his first spell at Rangers. A player of his supposed class should be dominating each and every game against "SPL diddies", if he was able to do it against Leverkusen, Munich, etc etc. That does not happen at the moment. As for being a moaning wee shite, I would say that he is not the worst for it but I don't believe he is in the same mould as Richard Gough or John Greig when it comes to captain material. Yes, he is a Gers man through and through but he is not in their stature IMHO. Nor is he able to provide inspiration in the same way. As far as we know, Fergie is gone until he apologises and toes the line with Le Guen. That might not be as bad a thing as some are making out. Today I thought Jeremy Clement was absolutely outstanding. He fought for everything and showed composure on the ball for the full 90. If that is a by-product of Fergies absence, and we can get someone more direct in there who will give us 10-20 goals from midfield, an Albertz or a Gazza, then it can only be a good thing. Life goes on. PLG will be here for a while, until he walks or until his contract runs out. Either way, I'm sticking to my guns (and Danny will confirm them!) that PLG should be given a chance to turn the ship round. Let's hope there is money to spend in January. Gotta spend money to make money. And some fresh blood might do us some good. Especially if they are the right types of player (Defender who can head, Midfielder who can score and anyone who can hit a decent free kick). Sorry if any anti-BF sentiment is going to upset the applecart... but I don't care
