David Murray chased the dream with other peoples money, be it Joe Lewis and ENIC, Dave King or the Bank Of Scotland, and it was great while it lasted....but he never put in place a sustainable business model. Every successful team breeds its own players and supliments them with bought in players....Rangers under Murray did this the opposite way round, that is on the occasional times one of our own got a chance. At this time rangers could be lining up with a team of: - Alan Mcgregor Alan Hutton Ross Perry Danny Wilson Stevie Smith Greg Wylde Barry Ferguson Charlie Adam John Fleck Chris Burke Ross McCormack Thats just off the top of my head. Add to the list Gattuso who we signed at 16 and free signings such as Davie Weir, Aluko etc. My point being, why are we spending money on cheap players such as ortiz, bedoya and matt mckay as squad players when they are no better than the team of players i just put up who cost us nothing.... are any of these expensive options better than the likes of ness, hutton, mcmillan, cole? Why did we recently go for cousin, but a week earlier never went for boyd? Why Sandaza for cash or grant holt for cash when boyd would have been free? I really want the management of rangers to promote from within. Is Mccoist the man to do this? I certainly hope so..... Previous home grown players include durrant, robert fleck, craig moore, so i'd say the tallent is in there.... Kane Hemmings may not be ready right now, but twenty mins every week as a sub would soon get him developed... Rant over...

My big thing about the squad would be stop signing squad players. Squad players should come through the ranks. Example. Why sign Ortiz when we have Naismith playing wide right. Why sign McKay and bedoya when we had Hutton and ness. Why resign kerkar when we had Wylde and fleck. Why the feck is fleck out on loan and not in the team. The only way youth gets better is to play them. But we are signing distinctly average players to keep the youth out the team. Start using the three subs to introduce youth. Not lee mcculloch. We know what he can(t) do. Rant over.

Right another thing came into my head. The 24 million is a loan from ticketus. We don't pay vat on a loan. U pay interest. So why is the record claiming this causes us to owe 5 million in vat?

Right. Three things in record story don't make sense to me. 1. March 08 Whyte asks ticketus for money in a letter from liberty capital saying he wants to sell rangers season tickets to them to pay it back. And they put 24.4 million in his account in April. Eh. He didnt own the club. So joe blogs can I borrow a grand. Al pay u back with money I get from selling my mates car that isn't mine to sell. 2. Two months after borrowing the money the repayment is 9.5 million. Almost half. So. Technically if he had waited a month he could have borrowed about 13million to end up with same balance. Makes no sense to do that in my opinion. 3. Hmrc are asking old directors to look over documents which relate to current practices at ibrox. Are they getting a look at celtics invoices? No. Why? Cause it's nothing to do with them. Neither is rangers so why ate they showing them to them. Can I for instance get a look. Can Phil mcmurderer?

I can't understand why fleck ain't getting a game. Surely he is the most similar type of player to naismith that we have. I didn't pick any new players in the vote cause I believe the way forward for the rangers is to bring through our youngsters. The future for rangers is ness, Hutton, fleck, bendicksen, cole etc. how about a 4231 formation with ness and Hutton holding and fleck bendicksen and Wylde getting forward. And guess what. No money spent. We could keep the jelly up front.

Just a thought. But in same time our back up keepers have included. Alexander. Niemi. Watterus(spelling) and charbonier. That's prob better keepers than most other clubs had as first choice.

Always said since day one. The word f****n has been banned so change the word to Celtic or begger or peado. Do you know what though. Rangers should be at the forefront of saving Scottish football. Push for a german system where wages can only be s percentage of turnover. Therefor no Scottish club can live outwith it's means. If u limit wages to 50% of total turnover based on a three year rolling average it means you cannot spend what u don't have. Itches all clubs focus more in youth development. It in turn should get a stronger national team. Also get the sfa to pressure the government on work permits. Allow teams to bring in the best of young players from Africa and south America. You do realise rangers would not have been allowed to bring Lionel messi over as a kid no matter how good we thought he was gonna be. He would not have got a work permit at a young age.

If the wage bill is to high it must be cut. This living beyond our means has to stop. U do realise that if we hadn't bought nuggets like Beatie or Healy we could have a very experienced fleck up front by now. Whittaker has been given a deal so we can sell him and promote McMillan to the team. He can then be sold when cole is ready for the first team. This is how Ajax have operated for years. Perry should be a luck before David weir, but will he? We will look for "experience" while Barca look at bojan and messi who combined are still under forty. This is the big problem for rangers. How's about a team of mcgregor. Whittaker goian bocanegra Wallace. Naismith Davis edu McKay lafferty. Jelavic? 451 when we don't have ball 433 when we do? I honestly think 442 is old fashioned. That midfield is xavi and iniesta, not mcculloch and edu but if u squint while watching them u could get them mixed up.... Maybe... A bit.... Nope am talking pish.

So. He kept our best players. In fact tied them up onto long term contracts. Brought in new players to strengthen the squad. Sold boogy. Who let's face couldn't get out of the place fast enough. (what a positive career move that was for him). Started doing up ibrox. So what is it he hasn't done exactly? Oh aye spend five million. Mind u. There is a jan window. He might just spend some then as well. He didn't buy a striker? He tried to sign two. One chose elsewhere (Spain) one he didn't want to be ripped off by paying to much. (this is a crime Murray committed quite a lot am sure ul agree) So marks out of ten? Eight. Minimum. Europe was the teams fault not whytes. But maybe signings a bit quicker (possibly paying over the odds) would have helped. This isn't about this season guys and gals. This is about the future of rangers. As I see it a rangers who rely a bit on youth development and the odd star purchased to move the club forward year on year. Not chase today's glory at tomorrow's expense.

The thing is. If Whyte hadn't bought the club. We would have had to cut the wage bill again. We would have sold mcgregor. We would have sold Davis. Jelavic? Gone. Naismith. Gone. So while they are telling us Whyte hasn't spent any money he has. He has shored us up. He has made us stronger. Bocanegra. Cheap but looks good enough to me. Wallace. Should be our left back for years. Bedoya. Haven't seen enough but apparently is an attacking creative player. Which we needed. Ortiz. Still finding his feet. Pace has unsettled him I think. Probably just a squad player. We now have at least two players in every position. Then we can also bring perry McMillan fleck Hutton and ness into it. We are stronger than last year. We have more depth than last year. We don't sell our plAyers to the first bidder as we did last year. So has Whyte produced? I say he's just about shown he's a positive force. He could have done better but I hope he is just making us work to a sensible budget. Maybe he has kept some back for jan to protect against injurys or bad form. Also. Think ahead. If budget if 5million a season. We now have a resonable squad that the bulk could be spent on one player. A special player. Just my thoughts.

From what I've read it's a twelve year old tax bill that rangers had hidden and hmrc had forgotten about. If u read the take over stuff MrWhyte found this bill and agreed to pay it. Hmrc then slapped another 1.4million onto bill as a fine. I think MrWhyte is saying why the hell should I pay fine? I found bill for u and agreed payment. If it's the way I've read everything I think he has a point. To me it looks like a "Celtic minded" person may be in control of our account at hmrc. I mean there are bigger leaks than the titanic in there just now.

Players ally rates. Maybe, just maybe ally does think we have enough. More would have been spent if players had wanted to come or if clubs accePted our bids. Goodwillie / cuellar/ juhaz but they were priced outwith our valuation / budget I would have liked another striker but I also realise our young Plsyers need opportunities to break into team if rangers as a business is to thrive. Maybe strikers we wanted were not available. Maybe out with our budget. Maybe they said no thanks. I for one am glad we ain't signing strikers just for the sake of it. Maybe ally thinks alot of hemmings? Maybe he sees the year long loan for fleck as the answer for next season. Also. We have jelavic, lafferty Healy and naismith. We may only be playing with one up top with Wylde bedoya and Naismith pushin forward from the middle. Maybe intention was goody in jelavic out for a profit.

Was there not something about the last lot of figures that they had to be released by 31st march? Which was three months late? Might be wrong but. If it is true end of June figures must be out end of September? What's everyone expecting them to say? I think bit of profit but debt still there to Mr Whytes company. I think we might see decent if not spectacular figures.

I can't understand this anti Craig Whyte stuff. If he hadn't bought us we would have already sold mcgregor Davis Whittaker jelavic wylde and boogy. Who do u all want him to sign. The days of a laudrup are gone. We may occasionally get lucky but it will be occasionally. The boy from anderlecht. We bid to our limit and moved on. We would have cuellar if fit. I don't believe Goodwillie would have signed for us. Same with Conway. We have a budget. But if we can get a bocanegra for peanuts or break the bank for the anderlect defender I'll gladly take the yank. If we sell jelavic. It'll be for major money. That's why we bought him. We knew we could sell at a profit. It's how we are going to have to operate. Buy develop sell. Better still. Develop our own and sell. We need to think Ajax. Not chelsea. I ask any that think Whyte is bad for us. Ur in charge who would u buy? How much wid u spend? Personally I look forward to the day where rangers back four could be Wallace Wilson perry McMillan. Midfield of Wylde ness Hutton and Naismith. With jelavic and hemmings up front. Not necessarily those players. But a team of eight home grown players and three bought in for what? Seven million. Forget transfers for big names. Development is the way to make rangers future bright.
