  1. Lets face it, if a bid comes in that meets the boards / managements valuation of any player they will be sold. What do they value Tav at is unknown, but the idea is to buy develop, get performance benefits from and then sell for a big profit and buy a replacement. It is the Magic Hat's job to have a replacement picked out for every single one of our players. So I reckon if 3million is on the table come xmas he will be away and someone else brought in to replace him. What i do hope is there a no last minute departures that cant be replaced as that would be hurtingh the team while pleasing the bank balance. As for those who say we wont get any bids i give u Andy Robertson (think thats his name...... Queens Park to Dundee United to English Premiership and Scotland caps in the same amount of time we are paying off Ally the wonder scout.
  2. The next manager has to be all about long term. This seasons over. I really can't see us catching hearts. We would have to win every game. Gets us six points back by beating them twice. Then we would need hibs to do us a favour in Edinburgh derbies. I suppose it's still a slight chance. But not pinning hopes on it. So playoffs at best. Do we have a squad than could beat a top league team. We have done it already. But will squad still be in place come playoff time? So long term planning for me. I still think director of football and first team coach is way to go. Mark wotte would do me. Already knows Scottish youth system. Coach.... I think Scottish football is basically broken. So I would go foreign. I'd love an Arthur Numan. Came from boys team through ranks to captain psv. Knows how players need to be progressed. Probably out our price range. But that's the type of character I want picking the team. Another thing. Ally makes a big deal about not having a scout. Why didn't he appoint one. Did he not want recommendations? Did he want to be king with all the decisions on players his to make?
  3. Surely the whole point of 50% of football chants is.... to offend / wind up / get under the skin of..... Said opponent. Surely a sheriff must acknowledge that singing said song at a football game is actually ment to offend only for the duration of the game. And that the reasonable person attending said football game must reasonably expect to be offended. The other 50% of songs are in praise of your own team btw.
  4. Change the rules. Throughout their whole carrer A professional player at every level should have 5% (or so) of their wages every week taken off them and given to the club that they were first registered to. Gives back to the club that took the chance on them and developed them into who they are today. Means wee joe blogs at Peter head gives a fiver from his hundred a week back to the club who trained him. Lee Wallace on 10k a week gives 500 quid a week throughout his career to hearts. Messi on 100k a week gives back 5000 a week. Keeps cash rolling into youth development from the cash rolling out the game into players pockets. Makes current players pay for future players development. Rules would need to be set up to ensure the cash is only used for youth development.
  5. Only first team subs we need would be A keeper - none of the two that's there. Someone around 20 Faure - looks okay in his own position and can cover rb allowing foster to cover lb. Black can cover Hutton Law to cover Macleod McKay can cover both wings Clarke covers strikers Rest can be youth players.
  6. Kyle Hutton is a better football player than black and perhaps law. Our current problem isn't so much the players. It's the tactics and certain players being given a place in the team regardless of form and played out of position when one of the favourites need a game. As things stand I would be playing - Bell Foster Mcgregor Moshni Wallace Aird Macleod Hutton Templeton Miller Boyd Wingers will get Boyd decent chances to score. Hutton will sit deep to allow the full backs to push on. Macleod box to box.
  7. My problem with McCoist comes down to planning.... Does it even look like he has planned for the future at any point since administration. We dropped to the bottom league and ally's plan was keep going the way we had been. Spend money. Every interview "I need more / new players". As everyone of us knows. We should have built slowly as we came up the leagues. That boy Robertson played against us what four times. We must have watched Queen's Park a few other times prior to playing them... Why did no one see the potential for the future.... Because no one was looking. It isn't about the future with ally. It's only about today. We should have had Robertson. We got smith. Ffs we put Kane Hemings out on loan because he wasn't good enough for the third division. So we loaned him out to a team in s higher league. How was he good enough to play in a higher league when he wasn't good enough for us at that time. Mckay. Thrown on every week when we were struggling to break a team down. Got the crowd lifted. Did fairly well for an 18 year old. Punted out on loan. Well done ally. You certainly motivated the guy. We could easily be sitting with gasparato mcausland Macleod McKay aird hemmings Gallagher with about 100 appearances each supplemented by a few good pros to talk them through the bad patches. From admin I can say I think I approve of three maybe four of ally's big name signings. Bell, mcgregor, templeton and Clarke. The rest have been a brutal waste of money. Jury is still out on Miller and Boyd. I believe Miller can help Clarke. And I believe a change from his boring defensive slow play could let Boyd be the player he was. Rant over.
  8. Simple 442 Bell Foster (currently best of a bad lot for rb) Mcgregor Zalukis Wallace Aird Hutton Macleod Templeton Miller Clarke Subs A younger reserve gk Faure (Frech under 21 - must have something and looks decent to me as a centre half McCulloch (versitile enough to be on the bench) eventually replace with Gasparatto McKay (Aird or temps off form make the change- one of the players who used to get the crowd energised by getting brought on) Boyd (still got goals if used properly - not as a target man) Gallager ( Black (Only to be brought on to shut a game down in last 20 mins) Get shot of Simmonson, Moshni, Law, Shiels, Daly and eventually retire McCulloch and replace black (wage bill tumbles) Start putting ho0me grown talent on the bench and using them.
  9. If I'm honest I don't trust ally to pick the team for this game. If we always play 442 we should stick to it. But I think he will change to 451 to try and keep it really tight. And it will invite the scum to over run us. Ally's team. My team Bell Bell Foster. Foster McGregor Mcgregor McCulloch. Zalukis Wallace. Wallace Peralta. Aird Law. McCulloch Black. Macleod Macleod. Templeton Smith Miller Miller. Boyd I think we need our captain. But not at the back. But able to drop back and help out. Width needed cause we need to attempt to push their fullbacks back. And two strikers is a must.
  10. Aye. But the sfa allowed him to buy hearts when he already owned another club. So is it a rule or is it a lot of pish made up by the papers?
  11. Right I might be wrong. But did Romanov not own hearts and some Lithuanian outfit? Kaunas? At the same time? So why would the sfa have an issue with Mike Ashley owning Rangers.
  12. I still have a bit of time for mcgregor. A lot if the stories that have came out about the admin time seem to point to mcgregor being the voice in the dressing room demanding amswers and quite frankly saving a lot of back room jobs. He also has never bad mouthed rangers. Davis. Not welcome. Never stood up as captain, but apparently sent his signing on fee from Southampton as a transfer fee. Only possible plus point is he has kept his mouth shut. Laugherty. Bad mouthed the fans not welcome.... Ever Shitaker and naeshame.... That press conference burned all bridges as far as I'm concerned. Not welcome. In fact I'd sin die them from ibrox publicly. Aluko. Was out of contract. Don't really think he counts. Fleck. Had to leave McCourt would never have given him a chance. McCabe and ness. Unwelcome. Developed them and they walked out.
  13. Why would people need to be played out of position. That's what the youth setup / reserves are for. Right back injured. Reserve steps up. Under 19 go to reserves and so on. Youth players from correct position move up a level to thier own position.... Ajax do it this way why can't we?
  14. Btw. I think ally will do everything in his power to ensure any players a dof gets in are left out the team. Just think. Bedoya. McKay etc. other folks signings that ally look determined to prove weren't in HIS plans.
  15. Look. Ally himself has been quoted as saying he can't plan further ahead than the next game. If that's our manager saying he can't look to the future strategy of the club then rangers have big problems. Put another way. He can't plan for which youth will be ready six month or two yeas from now it's all about getting miller in for today. Tomorrow doesn't matter. That's what a dof will be doing. Looking long term getting in players to replace player who aren't going to be there two years from now. Making the business decision on any bids coming in. For example. If someone bid 5 million for Wallace. Manager wants to keep for next game. Dof looking at big picture sees five million in the bank. Stevie smith capable of championship level. Joe blogs in youth set up a season away from challenging for a place. A short term loan available for a season at little cost plus a potential signing available from South America all through the scouting network he has established. It's like directors planning business direction while manager runs day to day business.
  16. 18 was the first number that came into my head. Although first team of eleven plus 7 subs is 18. Youth players to be promoted as cover as and when required.
  17. By the way. Love ally. Legend as a player. But the style of football he is serving up is shocking and quite frankly. I think it's holding us back. So a fresh approach with a dof. I think its a yes from me.
  18. Director of football - responsible for : Long term football strategy Appointing first team coach Appointing youth coaches Setting up youth system that actually brings through players Setting up scouting network to find players youth system can't Negotiating new contracts and signings Giving first team coach a squad of 18 players First team coach - responsible for: Coaching first team to the tactics decided by clubs long term strategy Ally may be worried because ally doesn't seem to coach players. Improve players or have tactical ability to get best out of players a available Long term I think dof is the way forward. But I also think ally may get handed his notice. One year rolling contract. It's not being renewed ally. Please feel free to apply for new role of first team coach on 100k a year plus win bonus.
  19. It's the type of job Moyes probably needs to take. His move to Man U has ruined his rep. Went to Man U took champions to what.... Seventh place? Left Everton who's football improved under a new manager.... His reputation has taken a pasting.
  20. What happens if we get a director of football is ally becomes a first team coach rather than a manager. His job description changes as well. That's what will be bothering him. His role becomes defined and his targets become set. I believe the DOF's role will be to provide the first team coach with a squad of say 18 players and agree a football philosophy with his first team coach. And to sell those players, and provide replacements through scouting and youth development, should acceptable bids come in. In other words ally's constant I need new players excuse goes out the window because he is to coach the 18 players he has. Just say Forrest offer 3 million for Wallace and it meets rangers valuation. DOF tells ally Wallace is away next transfer window u can chose replacement from player a b or c. Keeping a balanced squad. No utility players. No overload of left backs when not having a right back etc.
  21. Let's face it..... It's the boring tactics that are making this season what it is. In little and Clark we have a bit of Power and a bit of pace but mccoist plays daly the oak tree In McKay we had a player who got us excited when he got the ball. Mccoist moves him to Morton. In aird we have pace to get past a fullback. Mccoist seems to want him to cut inside. Same with temps. In McLeod we had what looked like a future rangers great driving forward from the middle of the park. Mccoist moves him wide. This season problem has been our manager and his tactics. Can he change? Only time will tell. He worked hard as a player to turn things around here's hoping he can do it again.
  22. Either or..... I was more meaning do we need as many coaches I've always thought we should go director of football. First team coach. Assistant coaches. Scouts. And maybe a bit sentimental. But I think McCulloch should be kept around the place. Coaching. Letting youngsters know what's expected.
  23. How about a realistic team to get us breaking even..... Bell Wallace Mohsni Faure Foster Hutton McLeod Templeton Mckay Aird Little (tends to score when through the middle) Subs - Gallagher gk Smith left side Mcculloch utility dmid or c/half Gasparato ( gets a minimum of last 20mins every game in his natural position ) ( also allows fairer to cover right back in injury) Crawford amid Gallagher amid or striker ( gets 20 mims minimum every game) Clark ( rotates with little to keep both on their toes) Let's us lose black -should have been sacked for betting against us anyway and doesn't stand out way he should Law - has been off his game since September. And McLeod has been moved out of position to accommodate him Sheils - less than ten good games since signing Cribari - never had a chance this season so we don't need him. Daly - about as mobile as an oak tree and the long ball game is seriously holding us back Simonsen - experienced back up - I give u uniteds third goal - Gallagher would have done no worse Hegarty / perry not been missed so not required. I reckon that would be around 35k a week off the wage bill. That's 1.8 million a season saved While I'm at it. Why do we need a reserve / under 20 coach in durie? We already have three coaches in mccoist McDowell and Durrant. Surely one or all of then could take the younger players and then know who is ready to be tried a level up.
  24. Well I'd miss playing them.... But naw. They can die anytime they like.
  25. The reason we should be more "tolerant" and give them a bit of backing or support is we know how it feels. That's where I was two years ago.
