  1. If Mr Green happens to read this, I advise him not to hold his breath waiting, it could lead to terrible consequences for his health.
  2. Well, that was a bit of an assumption on my part, of course. I may not have any chums here at all.
  3. It's barely credible the achievement of this quarter-wit. I am struck dumb by it. Everyone hates him. The fans of the "diddy clubs" hate him for being pro the "Old Firm". My chums here hate him because he is anti the Gers. The Tims hate him because he is pro the Gers. How the fuck has he managed that?
  4. The BBC has the punctuation putting a different slant on the quote, principally making two sentences instead of one. Thus, it becomes a "positive move from Rangers" that Green attended the meeting today. And at least the name Rangers was used and not Sevco.
  5. Sounds like you're an archaeologist.
  6. Aren't they offering odds on which club is first into administration? Looks more interesting than the SPL as a contest.
  7. But someone has laid gloves on him, or did I just imagine that he'd be banned from being a company director for seven years? And didn't he lose a court case regarding repairs to Castle Grant last year? Maybe he's become sloppy? My own personal view is that he bit off more than he could comfortably chew when he took on Rangers.
  8. Nothing betrays Regan's stupidity better than his "slow, lingering death" remarks. Frankly, Scottish football was in the midst of a "slow, lingering death" when Rangers was in the SPL. Surely the fear is really a swift death of the SPL if Rangers end up in Division 3. The problem is that Regan has constructed his business model solely on the "Old Firm", with the other clubs merely being fodder. And why wouldn't he? The SFA, SPL and SFL all have CEOs and with the possible exception of the SFL, they've hitched a free ride on the "Old Firm" gravy train. The best solution would be for the "Old Firm" clubs to leave the Scottish system ... they are out of all proportion to the other clubs in terms of size and stature. Scottish football could then start again, albeit at a much lower level. Who wouldn't benefit from that? Well, the other clubs would have a chance of success and without the need to try and compete with the "Old Firm" clubs they could much easily live within lower means, possibly even develop some Scottish talent. The "Old Firm" clubs would leave in a heartbeat, if the SFA could broker some way of getting them into a bigger system. But would the SFA and SPL be able to afford their CEOs without the "Old Firm" gravy train? Doubtful. Regan bit the hand that feeds, which is never the best of ideas.
  9. Then again, HMRC may not. Whyte may well have been a slippery customer, but it was all, rather like his wealth, off the radar. The one thing Messrs Green and Brown seem to agree on is that there are likely to be criminal charges arising out of Whyte's takeover of Rangers. His former lieutenant at Rangers, Gary Withey, has seemingly switched sides and has joined the litigation against Whyte.
  10. I'm not convinced that he's as good at it as you seem to think.
  11. Not yet. A floating charge crystallises in the event of liquidation. Now, of course, the OldCo has not yet formally entered liquidation proceedings and now has no assets to speak of, as they've all been transferred to Sevco. I would imagine that Whyte would have needed to get an injunction against the sale of assets to Sevco to have any hope of saving his floating charge. And it is possible, perhaps probable, that the terms of administration prevented that. The only way that I can see Whyte retaining a floating charge over the assets is via a backroom deal with Green. And even then it would presumably have to be registered, or it's not worth the paper it isn't written on.
  12. County Durham, in the case of Regan, I think you'll find ... probably a sad Mackem bastard.
  13. Yes. The fans. That's who he is expecting to cough over the readies so that he can purchase the club.
  14. It makes no sense. The floating charge registered hovered over the assets of Rangers FC plc and not Sevco.
  15. Well, that's bollocks for a start. Maybe if Brown understood the concept of the "floating charge" he'd understand that.
  16. He probably didn't think it was the time or place for a vote of no confidence. And if he's a decent fellow then he may have assumed that Regan would do the decent and honourable thing.
  17. I doubt it ... dignified silence seems to be the order of the day at Ibrox. In point of fact, I've been hugely impressed with the way that Messrs Green and McCoist (and, in fairness, the SFL) have responded over the last week or so ... stark contrast to headless chicken approach of the SPL and SFA.
  18. I doubt it ... McCoist (and Green) will likely maintain a dignified silence and just let Brown discredit himself more and more. Responding to him just gives him currency ... and not even the sort of currency he needs.
  19. How is Mr Dingwall taking being replaced as self-appointed leader of the Rangers support by this John Brown fellow?
  20. And in that context you can perhaps excuse Green's supposed "threat" to turn Rangers to dust as merely comments borne of exasperation.
  21. Let's be honest here, John Brown doesn't seem to mind hurling insults around, or making statements he is unable to back up with facts.
  22. So, it appears to be as expected ... he has no backers and is relying on the fans to cough over the readies to buy the club. I think he can be ignored henceforward. This is going to be just another example where Green just has to sit back, do and say nothing while his rivals make a complete bollocks of everything.
  23. Well, I think that is a well thought out and well delivered statement.
  24. Not really. That's the mutually assured destruction option.
