  1. Are we still liable for the "football" debts? Can see a raft of court cases from the "non football" creditors if we are forced to pay the likes of Hearts etc.
  2. Couldn't have been Butcher then. Must go up into the loft and try and find that programme now.
  3. Saw Mark Walters play at Ibrox around 1981 ish. Can't remember the exact date but I've still got the programme somewhere in the loft. It was a Scotland V England schoolboy international. Scotland had a young Pat Nevin and Paul McStay in their team but interestingly England had three players who went on to play for Rangers. Mark Walters , Trevor Steven and I can't remember the other offhand but I think it was Terry Butcher
  4. I've already cancelled but the buggers have got you with a months notice so will still be paying to end of July.
  5. [ STV understands the SFL board has ruled a simple majority will be required in the vote. A number of clubs have already indicated they will abstain due to a conflict of interest.] You mean they have other interests on 12th July
  6. I smell a yes vote coming tomorrow. Get out clause for the SPL chairmen along the lines of " Whilst we really really really wanted to go along with the instructions of our fans, I'm afraid the big bad bank manager called last night to say if we vote no our debts will be called in, meaning we would be immediately placed in administration ourselves"
  7. Liverpool Echo tonight suggesting Everton will make a bid for him.
  8. I cancelled my Sky Sports in midweek and when asked why I told them ...... no Rangers no Sky. They made a half hearted attempt to keep me by offering 20% off the next six months subscription. Politely declined their offer.
  9. What chance a yes vote on 4th July. Is this scaremongering a Liewell ploy to get a yes vote.
  10. So we have to apply by Friday but the SPL vote does not take place "officially" until 4th July. So technically on Friday we are still a SPL club applying to "relegate" ourselves. Something doesn't sound right here.
  11. From memory I think it was early 70's. It was cup quarter final day north and south of the border and both Rangers and Man U had been knocked out of their respective tournaments so arranged this friendly. Not sure if it was a testimonial or not. Rangers won 3-2 with John Greig scoring the winner. ( We cleaned up in the local Manchester bookies as they had Rangers at 3-1 ). Man U had set aside about 8,000 places at the end opposite Stretford Road but approx double that turned up. I remember fans being pulled up from the standing lower section up into the seated stand above to escape the crush. A fair few punch ups as well before the game including one on the centre circle when a bear replaced a Man U flag placed on the centre circle with a Rangers flag. Happy Days
